jamuary 25 2025 - rainy night noir

it's finally raining here in the Los Angeles area. good side is we always need moisture, bad side is the danger of mudslides especially in areas affected by the fires. sending positive energy to all.
tonight's jam is featuring the wonderful ongaku software synthesizer by giorgio sancristoforo. it is a generative standalone program which I've routed through the octatrack. accompaniment in the form of backing samples recycled from some of my previous jamuary jams. the rain loop was captured on the zoom h4 which is what I've also been using to record these jams. this track is slow and pensive.

Wow, unreal!! I would love to create these but am a little unfamiliar with what parts I need. I have a MacBook Pro and need to get the Ongaku software synthesizer, what else do I need to order?!

This setup is just the M1 MacBook Air, Elektron Octatrack, and Zoom H4n recorder, and some audio cables to connect them. Realistically, you could do all this with just the laptop. Having additional hardware to fiddle with makes the live performance part easier. I'm still learning this device myself. It's going to take a lot of practice. Thanks for listening!
