I can see the RT reflections being grainy, a bit noisy, probably because Polyphony's denoiser is simply not that advanced as something like NVIDIA's Ray Reconstruction. They seem to be using a bit too low resolution, a bit too simplified reflections in BVH to my liking. But other than that it looks simply stunning. This game is a looker.
@@andsoitwas3046 How is it a lie? The RT reflections on the cars are factually lower resolution as is the entire presentation. It's of course more accurate but that doesn't mean it looks better. The grain on the reflections make it look more gamey and less realistic.

There is definitely a huge improvement in the lighting inside the car when driving in those tunnels. Still holding off til more and more videos show. Not sure if ray tracing is enough for me.
The image quality is top notch ! The difference OG/Pro is subtle. The thing the most apparent to me is on the reflections on the car bodies that are a bit more detailed, but the OG way of simulating reflections is already pretty convincing, and when racing it is not something that will be obvious, especially when liveries are not a full black painted car that acts like a mirror.
Still have a 4 pro and was holding out for the 5 pro. 4pro plays GT7 pretty good still, hopefully we'll see some comparisons with the older consoles. Love the reflections and little details the 5pro is pulling out.
man, these are such small upgrades for seven HUNDRED dollars. I think graphics tech has hit a good point where it doesnt really matter to me anymore. İf a game is made with an ok budget, it's gonna look good.
What the hell are you taking about? This is not a ps6, its improving existing game, did you expect a new version or something? Its also going to vary on game to game basis. For ex. Callisto protocol is twice the framerate on the ps5 pro while looking better. You just dont understand how games are built
Hey dude, I guarantee the PS5 Pro is just a minor upgrade from the base PS5 hardware. The normal PS5 hardware is recommended mostly because it has a Disc drive, while Pro is all digital only. GT7 looks incredible, especially when Ray Tracing is off. I feel like the PS5 Pro is darn expensive as hell but gives higher FPS, PSSR, and RT on gameplay. The RT on gameplay looks nice as I can tell, but I guess it doesn’t sound too special. Probably there’s no point jumping from standard PS5 to PS5 Pro at this rate. But the jump from PS4 to PS5 is big in terms of the game’s features and overall detail. Oh well, the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions are still great to those who still have a PS4. But if anyone wants the PS5 Pro, then it’s ok. I’ll just let them prefer whatever they want. So in conclusion, the PS5 Pro enhancements are nice regardless.
Serious racers will choose "prioritize framerate" over "resolution/ray tracing" as the information you get from from additional frames is way more relevant than accurate shadows/lighting/reflections
@thetikijam i don't think it's a scam but this is just a pure example of diminishing returns What more do the people want It's time to focus on trackside details for next gen , (making the environments feel ALIVE, add more 3d people , think of the old Vision Gran Turismo trailer)

Ray-tracing is so overrated. I see little difference besides the interior, and if you're driving at high speeds you're going to be focussed on the road, not the graphics.
What's the max resolution in the 120hz performance mode on PS5 Pro? I know on the base PS5, the resolution gets downgraded to 1080p. Is it 1440p on the pro?
Significantly improved or not, on my 4k 65 inch Sony TV on the base PS5 it looks spendid and have no intention to upgrade whatsoever.. Even in fps/performance mode. I do have VRR up to 120hz.
Look folks, this is what you paid 700-750 bucks for.... base PS5 costs around 450 so you paid 300 bucks for this... improvement? I have respect for the people who actually burned 750 bucks. Apart from the interior lighting, seeing other cars on the body reflection, the night races, and the smoothness of the PSVR2 on the Pro, the changes are very minor. Yes, the PS5 Pro is better, especially in VR and those night sequences, but once again, it is not £700 better. The base PS5 performance and visuals still hold up really well, and for my needs, and for my TV, the PS5 Pro is not for me. But it is nice that you uploaded this so that we can see the changes for the Base and Pro performance and visuals. Much appreciated!
@trs8696 I know it isn't. I mentioned the price. I didn't say it was more expensive anywhere in my comment. Considering that the base slim disc console is £479.99, and the digital slim is £389.99 I still wouldn't say that the Pro is worth the extra £220 - £310 for what you're getting for the average consumer.
@BiggNewt Okay, the storage part is good. But the graphical? Unless it's games that need it, like FF7 Rebirth, F1 24, and more, I personally feel that the Pro isn't worth it. Take that as you will. I shall say no more on the matter. Obviously, I pushed a bit too far. Sure, maybe it will be worth it one day, and that will be good. But I remain pessimistic.
@UntLion worth is subjective. Value is not. A $400 slim that adds a $150 1tb ssd, a wifi7 upgrade over wifi6 and then you add the graphical advancements and it's priced right at $700. A PC equivalent is at least a $1000.

Yea I don't think the Pro is worth it at all, it's a waste of money in my opinion..I bought the PS5 Slim (Digital) few days ago for playing GT7 for the most part, and I very much enjoy it.
PSSR was on. I took some screenshots with it on and off while stationary and at high speeds and the only difference I spot is better aliasing with PSSR, not much else, and not really any downsides
Cool...I'm perfectly fine playing the PS4 version. This whole chase after graphics is stupid. I understand if the game was 30fps and now it's 60fps...than sure, that's a big change....but it's already 60fps on ps4, ps4 pro and ps5 so waste of money.
If anything this is just proof that PD knocked it out of the park with GT7 on base PS5. The only reason I'd shell out for the Pro is to address some of those sub-60 fps moments you can get on busy grids in the rain.
Almost everything that was in DriveClub and worked and looked great, PD has achieved only now using RT, and even then it still does not have the same level of natural elaboration of the lighting work as in DriveClub.
People repeating 700, 700, 700... Ok. Its either 400 or 450 or whatever it is a PS5 BASE costs, or 699 for the pro. The pro also has 2tb of storage, 1tb improvement or even more than the base ( usable ends up being like 1.8) which would be a 75 dollar upgrade to begin with basically. So Lets say you dont have a PS5 at all. You can get a PS5 WITH a storage upgrade for, 500, whatever or for 200 more you get the pro with the upgrade slot still empty to add storage later if you need to. So thats the FIRST thing. Secondly if you are OK having one console, your base PS5 is worth 300+ used. maybe more. And once again, if you have a STORAGE upgrade in it, you can remove it and put it in your pro, you have not lost money there, But again, you factor in the 300, (assuming you let it go DIRT cheap) and what the storage upgrade would cost you and your price difference is under 350..... Anyone whos looking at just this video and trying to decide let me tell you from using the pro.- it feels snappier. Having more options for modes and not having to sacrifice ray tracing in 60fps and knowing MANY games are going to lean on the pros hardware especially in VR - (at this point I would not even bother with VR without the pro, because if youre already OK spending hundreds for VR the 200 dollar difference in the consoles is negligible in the total price compared to experience). I am just saying.... its almost like FUD to keep moaning about 200 bucks... what do you expect to happen? The OG barely got a price cut, if the base machine had gotten 150 in price drops in 4 years and the pro came out at 550 but the price nobody would say anything -but currently is in free fall inflation here- the price of going to mcdonalds has gone up 50% in 5 years, the price of meat went up, the price of everything but things being subsidized or which already had HUGE profit overheads (they ate the increase to maintain volume and not drop production in those cases) went up - You KNOW your money is worth less than it was but you expect a brand new release game console to be the same price as it was before.... I hope everyone here braces for the next generation of consoles, because the two options are going to be- they aim for a 500 dollar pricepoint and the machines are anemic but they dont get the "Sticker shock " or the boxes are going to be 700 bucks-
You can certainly see that the resolution has increased. However, the occasional frame rate drop seems to remain the same. However, it's important to keep in mind that because this game is designed to also run on PS4, it is not able to take full advantage of the performance improvements provided by the PS5 Pro. It will be difficult to properly appreciate the true value of the PS5 Pro until we see the performance of the next title, which incorporates PS5 Pro support from the start.
Games like this and Spiderman put me on the sold side. Then there’s games like Silent Hill 2 and Jedi Survivor where it puts me on the pass side. Right now Pro is a pass cuz there shouldn’t be any game that look better on base 5
It does, it looked better before the update. This update is crap, it ruined the game imo. Im going back to PS5 version. I can barely notice this improved reflections especially while focusing on racing. while I notice worse resolution and more aliasing immediately. The new update even made the whole picture darker. I had to turn EV in the game to +1 to match the brightness prior the update and it still doesn’t look the same and as nice as before.
In my humble opinion, the 5Pro is going to be significantly better with a good high end tv and the better resolution is going to make updated games look better Gran Turismo 7 included. Most gamers are on the fence right now regarding the $700 price tag of the Pro as a base model being quite up north in terms of price regardless of having all the bells and whistles in graphics. RT is just one of things and in GT7 I coudnt care less if its there or not since it goes out the window the moment you race its not a selling point exactly even a 4Pro can still churn GT7 and the graphics looks better RT or no RT. I think RT makes GT7 look like an arcade. Id stick with the 4pro resolution with good physics, thank you
Where I live I bought my ps5 at launch price for 2500 lei, now the new ps5 pro costs 4000 lei, and another 550 for the disc drive, and I have an SSD installed in my ps5, when I sell it on the used market I am getting 1500 lei for my ps5, so getting a pro is not worth it by a long shot.
Play some actual gameplay footage instead of replay footage. Record you driving around on each console with performance setting. Polyphony said from the beginning, that would be where you would see the difference. As ray tracing is still applied on replays. But when actually racing nothing is used on the base ps5
Ray tracing is not applied on any of the driving cameras in replay and looks the exact same as gameplay. For base PS5 it’s only applied to the cinematic/trackside cameras in replay and showrooms. I explained this in the beginning of video and why I chose to do the modes I did.
Sony: Spends years of R&D and engineering to develop a console. Social media experts: I can't see a difference on a compressed video. Sony is dumb for making this machine. Makes sense.
Game is beautiful, not as good as Forza Motorsport. This looks and plays simply amazing. So I did not notice any differences between the two games. They look exactly the same to me and I tried so hard to look for differences, and I watched on a 40 inch monitor in. 2160 4K @60 FPS.
The resolution looks cleaner and sharper on the PS5, looks jittery on the Pro. Look at the cars edges, other than that everything is basically the same unless you care about retracing. I've yet to see any footage justifying the $700 price. Sony just took an L
Did you just turn off the raytracing completely on base PS5? Because replay shots on base PS5 look better than in your video (as they have raytracing) and in your video they don't have raytracing. It looks like you're trying to simulate the gameplay graphical differences rather than actually showing them.
PS5 replay footage is non-RT. I explained why in the video, but essentially it’s kind of pointless to show the higher FPS mode of Pro since UA-cam can only show 60, it’s visually identical to base PS5 other than the framerate, and I don’t have a way of enabling it for my capture card and slapping a frame counter overlay on it. Base PS5 ray tracing is just 30fps and is only enabled on the cinematic replay cameras and showrooms. I don’t see any real value in including a 30fps vs 60fps ray tracing comparison between the two. That’s why I just settled with the 60fps modes from both consoles. You didn’t ask this, but when it comes to PSSR I’ve done a few comparisons myself and there’s literally zero difference unless you whip out a comically large magnifying glass, and by that point UA-cam compression will crush the differences anyway. It’s just extra bloat the video doesn’t need
looks exactly the same. i was afraid of this. same thing is happening on console games that happened decade ago in pc games. human eyes can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps because we can't count 1 to 60 in 1 sec let alone counting 1 to 30 in 1 second. there is no difference between 1080p and 2160p games our eyes can't count that many pixels in naked eyes. so the game looks exactly same between 1080p 30fps and 2160p 60fps. it is like global warming level bs.
As a human, I can definitely say I can certainly tell the difference between 30 and 60fps, and certainly see the difference between 1080p and 2160p. This has to be bait but at the same time, anything is possible

@@andsoitwas3046looks amazing on base ps5, pro isn't much different to be noticed unless you try hard to look for it
Yep another liar here, 😂 I have it and it does look better
@@andsoitwas3046 How is it a lie? The RT reflections on the cars are factually lower resolution as is the entire presentation. It's of course more accurate but that doesn't mean it looks better.
The grain on the reflections make it look more gamey and less realistic.
Finally a comment about how the VR2 is improved!!! That is what is keeping me on the fence.
Man when you look at the cockpit on the base ps5 compared to the pro, you see just how bad the base lighting is. Big improvement.
Yeah but $700 worth? Nah
@@JoeyBK_86 You mean 200 dollars worth
Thats the difference in price

I'm about to power it up in a few minutes to see the uncompressed Graphics. I already thought the base ps5 was mind blowing. Cheers
@@1stoptech Only 200 worth if you you dont already own a base ps5. If you already own one you paid 700 for this little improvement
@@Rayann316 Yes, You are correct if you look at it that way. I have both , PS5's I decided to put the base model in my bedroom on the projector.

Thanks of this man! 🤘 Been waiting for this update!
Love the side by sides! Keep it up
Still have a 4 pro and was holding out for the 5 pro. 4pro plays GT7 pretty good still, hopefully we'll see some comparisons with the older consoles. Love the reflections and little details the 5pro is pulling out.
Thx for the splitscreen comparisons. There you can really see how much better the car paint looks now.🌌💟
Thank you for getting this out so quickly. Much appreciated
This is the best comparison video so far
3:45 what track is this?
Am I the only one who was so entertained by the driving that he forgot to compare the image quality😅
for someone who doesnt like sim racers, but has a ps5 pro and vr2, is this worth it?
UA-cam Compression doesnt do it justice, this game looks INCREDIBLE!! The 4K 120 mode is soo much sharper too.
Keep telling yourself that
Im just happy getting a PlayStation again knowing about remote play AND the 30th Edition Slim and DualSense Edge!!
I missed my GT7
man, these are such small upgrades for seven HUNDRED dollars.
Great job Rowdy!! Love that GT is still the most cutting edge in the PlayStation universe of games! Love your videos man. You’ll hit your goals! 🎉
The original STILL holds up. Not upgrading. Don't need to 👍💯
Honestly I don't see any difference on the PS5 Pro... Just stick with the regular PS5 if you still have and it has disk driver...
0:05 Wait what !! That’s the smoothest graphics comparison ever 😧
I dont know what i was hoping for... Now i know that i can save some money
Serious racers will choose "prioritize framerate" over "resolution/ray tracing" as the information you get from from additional frames is way more relevant than accurate shadows/lighting/reflections
Man, the game looks great on either from what I've seen. Also, the video (quality) looks great as well.
Minor difference , not worth the $700 tag
Save up for PS6 instead !
It is a scam indeed. People are so impressed by slightly shinier things lol.
@thetikijam i don't think it's a scam but this is just a pure example of diminishing returns
What more do the people want
It's time to focus on trackside details for next gen , (making the environments feel ALIVE, add more 3d people , think of the old Vision Gran Turismo trailer)

Exactly @@KRSRK
@@enterthekyuubi I think more than that, I'm not sure about the actual PS5 perfomance, I think games are not close to what it can do, GTA 6 is going to show that, and maybe by then we will start thinking about a PS6.

You should test the Callisto protocol update! I’d be curious to see what you think of the 8k30 mode vs 4k40 mode
is it because of monitor can get this great graphic?
i also have ps5 and gt7, but graphic not this good
even if this is the only game i've noticed a certain difference between both consoles, i dont think its worthy the upgrade, unless if you don't have any of them but still, i'm not sure if i'd go for the pro version instead of the base one, specially now that the base one is getting cheaper
Hey i recently got a ps5 with gt7, truly amazing. I was wondering with what do you record your 4k footage ?
Avermedia Livegamer 4k
Ray-tracing is so overrated. I see little difference besides the interior, and if you're driving at high speeds you're going to be focussed on the road, not the graphics.
What's the max resolution in the 120hz performance mode on PS5 Pro? I know on the base PS5, the resolution gets downgraded to 1080p. Is it 1440p on the pro?
Very nice recordings, btw. :)
PS5 and PS5 pro looks the same. It's a scam😂
Absolutely objectively incorrect.
Even the scalpers got fooled 😂 now they can't even sell them for more than they cost.
The only true upgrade was the base PS4 and the PS4 Pro. That one was actually well worth the extra money. But this? This is just a robbery on your own wallet.
How do you capture the same gameplay in two diferent consoles?
The light and shadow effect of the car interior is much better. Other differences were very small.
the difference when in cockpit view is pretty huge
Keep trying to convince yourself.. For me looks very similar, I can't afford to waste money. Was just playing this morning and base PS5 looks stunning on my 4K TV.. Just a great looking game, in fact it looked amazing on the PS4 Pro!

Omg, NO DIFERENCE!!!!! THATS AMAZING 😂😂😂
Much appreciated!
the ps5 pro isn't 700 pounds more expensive than the base unit
@trs8696 I know it isn't. I mentioned the price. I didn't say it was more expensive anywhere in my comment.
Considering that the base slim disc console is £479.99, and the digital slim is £389.99 I still wouldn't say that the Pro is worth the extra £220 - £310 for what you're getting for the average consumer.
@@UntLionand add another tb of ssd storage
The Ray Tracing is stunningly making the game more immersive than ever.
The denoising artifacts are really noticeable but yes it does improve the lighting but not worth extra 300$ imo.

Yea I don't think the Pro is worth it at all, it's a waste of money in my opinion..I bought the PS5 Slim (Digital) few days ago for playing GT7 for the most part, and I very much enjoy it.
And as a teenager I thought with Gran Turismo 1: WHAT else is there to come? Right, Gran Turismo 2 🤣
Can’t wait to spot the difference at 305 miles per hour while also having to manage abs tcs and turn signals
After re-playing the comparison shots ~50 times over 10 minutes, I... think... I can see a difference?
Also did you toggle on pssr?
PSSR was on. I took some screenshots with it on and off while stationary and at high speeds and the only difference I spot is better aliasing with PSSR, not much else, and not really any downsides
RT off pssr on is a better deal for me
Me too it's not as smooth and lights look weird in tunnel on grand valley track with ray tracing on
Cool...I'm perfectly fine playing the PS4 version. This whole chase after graphics is stupid. I understand if the game was 30fps and now it's 60fps...than sure, that's a big change....but it's already 60fps on ps4, ps4 pro and ps5 so waste of money.
Nah ps4 pro ain’t no waste
If anything this is just proof that PD knocked it out of the park with GT7 on base PS5. The only reason I'd shell out for the Pro is to address some of those sub-60 fps moments you can get on busy grids in the rain.
Almost everything that was in DriveClub and worked and looked great, PD has achieved only now using RT, and even then it still does not have the same level of natural elaboration of the lighting work as in DriveClub.
Finally, i can now see a difference in ray tracing albeit subtle in some instances.
But it may just push me to get a Pro. 😎
You should've done the VR test with gokarts as it's very prominent especially with the driver-less go karts in the distance, lol.
can't see any difference, can somebody explain on what to focus?
I hope everyone here braces for the next generation of consoles, because the two options are going to be- they aim for a 500 dollar pricepoint and the machines are anemic but they dont get the "Sticker shock " or the boxes are going to be 700 bucks-
Imagine a roof enable to any convertible cars for the next update for Gran Turismo 7, because they need to put the roof up while racing in the rain.
Huge upgrade for psvr2 owners 🎉
The interior lighting on the base PS5 looks static while on the PS5 Pro it's dynamic, furtherly increasing realism.
What’s the frame rate at 1440p?
Games like this and Spiderman put me on the sold side. Then there’s games like Silent Hill 2 and Jedi Survivor where it puts me on the pass side.
Right now Pro is a pass cuz there shouldn’t be any game that look better on base 5
Does AA look worse on PS5 pro or is that just me?
It does, it looked better before the update. This update is crap, it ruined the game imo. Im going back to PS5 version. I can barely notice this improved reflections especially while focusing on racing. while I notice worse resolution and more aliasing immediately. The new update even made the whole picture darker. I had to turn EV in the game to +1 to match the brightness prior the update and it still doesn’t look the same and as nice as before.
@ what a shame. Do you know if this pro mode Is vrr 120hz capable?
@@gster109 Yes it is.
Would have been nice if they updated the global illumination from the sunlight to really transform the overall graphics..
Id stick with the 4pro resolution with good physics, thank you
Can I use your gameplay videos
No
Where I live I bought my ps5 at launch price for 2500 lei, now the new ps5 pro costs 4000 lei, and another 550 for the disc drive, and I have an SSD installed in my ps5, when I sell it on the used market I am getting 1500 lei for my ps5, so getting a pro is not worth it by a long shot.
Just getting off work...I'm going to check this on my pro tonight...i took the 2tb from old ps5 just for games like this.
Sony: Spends years of R&D and engineering to develop a console.
Social media experts: I can't see a difference on a compressed video. Sony is dumb for making this machine.
Makes sense.
Looks almost the same to me on pro max screen. I have to force myself to try to see a tangible difference most of the time.
Game is beautiful, not as good as Forza Motorsport. This looks and plays simply amazing. So I did not notice any differences between the two games. They look exactly the same to me and I tried so hard to look for differences, and I watched on a 40 inch monitor in. 2160 4K @60 FPS.
It looks better but not twice the price better, just saying..
@RowdyGT I see. Makes sense, thx for explaining
looks exactly the same. i was afraid of this. same thing is happening on console games that happened decade ago in pc games. human eyes can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps because we can't count 1 to 60 in 1 sec let alone counting 1 to 30 in 1 second. there is no difference between 1080p and 2160p games our eyes can't count that many pixels in naked eyes. so the game looks exactly same between 1080p 30fps and 2160p 60fps. it is like global warming level bs.
As a human, I can definitely say I can certainly tell the difference between 30 and 60fps, and certainly see the difference between 1080p and 2160p.
This has to be bait but at the same time, anything is possible
im glad my old eyes cant tell the difference.
