Bill I made a pick out of a wire coat hanger. Cut off the hanger part and bent the ends with different size loops on each end. You ca n straighten the shoulder parts out to get what ever length you want to make it as long as you need. Cheap quick and I just hang it on a nail in a stud in my shed. Wire cutter and two minutes you’re done. Comes in handy for all kinds of things also - rakes nuts or bolts out of tight areas. You look like getting this done is easy. I usually have several assemble - disassemble processes when I do it. Good video.

For the sake of putting out a good viseo on rebuilding the carburator, and since you had all the parts, you could've rebuilt the carb fully. It's not about the viewers spending time in your shop, we came to figure out why ours doesn't run, and how to rebuild it properly from an experienced person. This video is so so, but you were so close.Still THUMBS UP though for your efforts.
