I’d love to figure out how to repair or just replace the Ram slot component on the 2010-2012 MacBook Pro. I do a lot of refurbish but that’s one thing I haven’t gotten down yet.

If you don't use a soldering iron is it really even fixing? waiting for a part 2 when you fix the 2nd ram slot.
Peter Ellens - the ram slots are known for being impossible to repair which is why I didn’t try, I didn’t want to risk destroying the one remaining ram slot functionality.
the core2duo MacBooks are known for being picky about RAM, it should be using pc3-8500 and any higher won't work properly.
mine is running with a ddr3L... strange...
Well diagnosed :-D, hopefully you have a cracked joint on the bad socket only.
Ordinary laptops can be picky sods with memory, so i would not be supprised that apple did as well.
You might want to do a compair of the resistances of the pins to gnd with the first/second socket, if you like pain lol.
Whats the issue if it beeps 3 times when trying to start up?
try cleaning your ram

@@mikeydoesit905 yes sorry typo.. it is soldered to the logic board.. macbook is for 2015
