Lyrics:
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
Wake up to the sound of your fleeting heart
When you go what you leave is a work of art
On my chest on my heart
She went out to the haze and the morning greys
She went out and got lost in a tall hedge maze
Where'd you go, where'd you go
Why'd you leave this place?
On my heart, on my face
And my love is yours but your love's not mine
So I'll go but we know I'll see you down the line
And we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find
And oh I'm feeling fine, we made it to the coastline
You passed all the signs of a slow decline
You lived like your love wasn't meant for mine
Now you've gone, now you've gone
To a different lie
To a lonelier side

And my love is yours but your love's not mine!💔🌱
Gets me everytime. 💕💕💕
Thanks for this, I’m currently moving and it’s a great way to think about it
discovering these bands who make such music feels like finding treasure. 💜
Tell me other discovered such bands
this is such a peaceful song, yet its never boring. every time i listen to it, its different. this song will forever and always be my favorite.
Kara Bloomie I think the thing that changes about the song when we return to it isn't the song itself, it's us.
Kara Bloomie is it still your favorite?
Prince Batman i can definitely say that after almost 4 years it’s one of my favourite songs (and bands too)
I hope it is still your favourite :)
Anna Trench it is. 4 years later :)
Its 2024, and this song gives me peace and comfort like no other song has ever!
"Our music is just supposed to make people feel happy. We consider ourselves Indie but we want people to think and remember how good they feel when they listen to our music." - The Paper Kites (Indie Autopsy)
All I can say is Amen to this!
Isn’t it wonderful when you find a band you have never heard before and you find you totally love them? Sometimes you hear a song that you really like, so you check out the artist and end up being disappointed. You cannot say that about The Paper Kites. I came across this band here on U-tube and this was the first track I heard. This band was certainly worth investigating, so I listened to more of their songs and was far from disappointed. What a wonderful, wonderful band.
I like most genres of music but now in my 60s I like something a little mellow. The paper Kites have been described as having an ethereal and moody sound. Whatever it is, it’s beautiful to me. I’m currently into The Blue Nile and London Grammar for late night listening, how happy I am to have now found The Paper Kites to include among my favourites.
Featherstone was the first track I listened to. I love it when the brass section comes in. It reminded me in a very small way of a wonderful song called the Shining by Badly Drawn Boy.
💯 correct
Just came upon them. It's like I just found a little bit of home in my heart. Much needed. Like opening up a book and butterflies flutter out and around you.
Just found them ✨💛✨
Listen to anything from Hollow Cove and you won’t be disappointed. Great band with amazing sound and talent.
2020 anyone?
I really love this song
Even though i was there and one of the kids in this video. I had forgotten it existed.
Meeeeeee 😊
I found it from my teacher playing music
Y’all should listen to rainbow kitten surprise guys
❤️ brings my heart at peace ☺️🥰🥰
"When you go what you leave is a work of art, on my chest on my heart." Is one of the finest lyrics EVER!!!
Yes, beautiful with the melodic guitars following...😄🌱☕️🩵
I love this band so much I listen to it all the time and never get tired
same x
Don't know if the folks at The Paper Kites themselves ever see this, but this is what got me out of bed this morning so - thank you 😊
Holy heck, I used to listen to this when I was like 14. Im 26 now and just rediscovered this and its bringing back nostalgia I’d thought I’d lost for ever.
same here
The Middle East - Blood was my favourite song in the 15's, it's such a punch in the stomach listening now, but in a good way
Soul wrenching...I feel as if my insides are screaming out "what happened to the old days where you used to dance for fun and smile at rainbows? Now you're older your dreams have faded and reality has set in."
you forgot what you don't need to remember
I always smile at Rainbows, 55 and always will 💛🌈☀️🙌🏻
Nothing changes without dreaming
I love this band so much you can't believe
Same ♥️♥️♥️
I am so glad that I've found this band. Not one bad song and every music video is beautifully shot, like wonderful movies with wonderful soundtracks. Every piece of art transports you to a brighter place.
They remind me of the lost boys from Peter Pan
I imagine my own childhood and our lost days frolicking through the scary long grass
I'm so lucky, if you wanna know just ask.

Thank God for that random day when I first listen to this song
i love this music video so much, i have a ton of respect for these sort of indie bands
This song should have been in the movie "Boyhood" imo
Wow man, didn't expect to find this here but glad I did. Really good thinking!

I LOVE YOU THE PAPER KITE BAND❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thepaperkitesband : This song " Featherstone" and " Bloom" do not really like, a little monotonous music, but your other songs like relevator eyes, Bleed Confusión, Melleable Beings, Woke up From a Dream , Too late, Electric Indigo , A Maker of my Time, they are very good
'and we'll hate what we've lost but we'll love what we find' potentially the best line in any song ever
just beautiful...when you go what you leave is a work of art....still in love with this song in 2021!
This is, for sure, one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long time. The music video is officially my favorite ever.
This song and video reminds me "Where the wild things are" love it
ikr

Snow Carmesí Right :)
I heard this song years ago and somehow woke up in 2021 with this playing in my head. I had to actually track it down cause I'd forgotten the song or the band name. Worth it!
There's just something about songs like this that take me to a different world, one I'd prefer to live in....
This video makes me smile every time I watch it. Magical,
The music video reminds me vaguely of Where The Wild Things Are
True
Jillian Gatchell reminds me of a more peaceful 300 or conan the barbarian
Jillian Gatchell that's what I've been thinking of this whole time haha! we're actually doing this children's book play in my theatre class and my group is doing 'Where The Wild Things Are'
I might steal the whole feather and pillow idea lol.
YAS
whenever i feel like i've lost myself, i always come back to this. just to know that I haven't lost that old part of me that wanted to run away from it all and go on an adventure. Don't worry kid, we'll go on that adventure soon.
this makes me feel stuff. ..Stuff that i thought i don't want to feel.. i dont know
I'm hoping this will be used for a "Life Is Strange" episode :)

Yes plz! :3
El ChicaLoca 〈3 Please let this happen!
Cauchiin I don't think it will happen though, it looks like there sticking to one playist throughout the whole thing :/
El ChicaLoca 〈3 Mhm, yeah. We can hope, though :3
The lyrics are so poetic and beautiful ❤ They cheer me up :)
If only real wars were fought that way
They should just make real wars online like call of duty and see what nation won by most kills...
Instead of actually killing each other they can kill each other online and get banned after they died

This is my therapeutic Song since college until now .Your music is a gem.
This is a visually compelling capture of the innocence of childhood and how we were able to create a magic in our own world and it's set to my favourite song. I couldn't be more impressed, this was beautifully done.
Wow. I'm so glad I found this band! Their music and music videos are beautiful.
The best song ever. ♥
Reminds me of my childhood days of how we use to explore the woods... ❤️❤️❤️those were the days

This song makes me fly🪁
I just heard this song and knew about this band today. God I love it. 🥹
Heard this from Grey's anatomy. So now, I'm here listening to this because I'm so traumatized by watching that show.
I'm so glad there's song like this. It's so calming.
If only wars were like this, Everyone ran into a trench and just started fighting everyone with pillows instead of weapons. That would be nice.
Got this song constantly on repeat!!! LOVE IT!
Found these guys just then , how awesome!
I'm just finding this song now! I can't believe what I've been missing out on😌
Naomi Caparelli I have same feeling just like you
Okay, so i'm seventeen and all, but I find myself wishing I were still one of these beastly little kids. Forest pillow fights? All me and my siblings ever thought of were BB gun wars...
It's never too late for a Forest Pillow Fight ^^
i vote we get all of us "oldies" and just go for it haha
Mariah Padbury Count me in :D That would be awesome, just tons of people having the biggest pillow fight ever, making feathers rain everywhere ^^
Now you're 22
Mariah Padbury Same here ,but we're fifteen / sixteen , and had air pistols ,no BB's here then..( way ,way, back!) Just pellets and darts.Never thought of pillow fights! Bet those kids had fun .

i love this song....
My dog just passed away last Sunday. This song has been a great comfort to me, as a direct examination of life’s impermanence while also being serene.
I remember being around 15 or 16 listening to their music all day. Too see how good music finally gets its recognition almost a decade later is pretty crazy. I guess it’s the over filtration of trash music being slowly washed away by gems like this when the judgement for taste of and for good music starts to truly make its way to the surface
