    I sat in tug for 5 minutes , the pilot briefing me said next time you see this attitude you've landed! Spot on. The other advice he gave me was climb to 3500ft qfe, close the throttle and do a 360° turn. Yep that made me realise always land ahead if engine failure.

    The main gear bungees are strong because in a spray Pawnee there would be 140 gallons of spray in the hopper on takeoff. This makes the gear a bit stiff when there is nothing in the hopper. Make a normal power/pitch approach to arrive at the desired touchdown spot in a three point attitude all slowed up and ready to squat (from S&R page 302). Just before touchdown, level the fuselage to wheel land slowly and softly without a long hold off. If you force it on with too much speed you will get a rough hop/hop even if the wheels stay on the surface.
