Attending this performance live is the only item on my "If I had a Time Machine" bucket list!
Urgggg, I love this 💕💕 So pretty and mysterious. I could imagine this would be a stand out memory for the performers. Wish I could see it live :))
Brillant, the composition as well as the performance!!!
OMG I love this! What a wonderful work!
Why is the guy on the end wearing black
maybe he lost his white shirt
@@emmajarrett8734 oh probably
The 'guy on the end wearing black' is the Master teacher of our double bass section, Max McBride, he's earned his all blacks!
So, one of them has a black shirt instead of a black belt! Classy!

Music itself is interesting but I don't see the point of having the 8 basses. They're not even doing solos.
To symbolize 8 big creaking trees in the woods, especially effective around 12 :40 when they start knocking on the body of the double basses.
They do solo independently at 11:40 in a way that only multiple double basses can. The rest of the time I agree the number is there mainly for strength of collective tone when they play melodies together.
