Tiny Rocket Diorama | Almost Looks Real!

This week, I sat down and built something random. I had no idea what the final goal was until part way into the build. A miniature Falcon Heavy launch in a glass dome came to mind while looking through my little 3V filament collection.
I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on Elon Musk, but I would love if he saw this video. You should tweet it at him!
Maybe EverydayAstronaut can help me get it to him.

You have mastered the art of using filaments and creating smoke clouds from fibre fill. Really enjoyed. Thank you for sharing 👍😊
He has, he makes it look easy, until I were to try it and looks nothing like what it should lol. He nailed the Super Mario one too
It’s really cool and it looks really good unlit as well
Yes
Yes he makes it looks like just piece of cake🥲
Nerd bit here but It’s not actually smoke. It’s water vapor based on type of fuel and how it combusts. There is no consumable part to create smoke.
You ended up making a portal by accident, the swirling reflections on the top of the dome are magical!
That's the reflection from the sky!
u right
I also noticed that and thought how cool 👊🏽👍🏽
Because such will exist
*Certified Half-Life 2: EP2 Moment*
_Or it could also be the 1st Half Life, both follow a similar Idea_
Wow, the reflection at the top of the dome is so trippy. Love it!
It looks like Boylie made a Portal Diorama after all.
Thank you very much for the shout out mate. I really appreciate it 🙏. This is a wonderful diorama 👍. I really need to start using these filaments, they create awesome light effects 🙂
Of course! Thanks for making inspiring content!
i thought you were going to recreate the artemis 1 launch that happened a couple of days ago but this is amazing! such a small yet beautiful project, i didn't expect it to look this good! you never fail to surprise me with your creations
Yeah, that was a shame. Most powerful space rocket ever built!
@@4str0m3ch it made night day
turn on the lamp and it blinds the entire room
Maybe next time? I am a huge space fan so that would be awesome. This was still super cool tho
@@gameseeker6307 I was near the launch the fire reflecting off me made it look like I was standing in front of a camp fire amazing sight
The filament & cotton method for this type of effect is one of my favorite crafting techniques to see being used. The reflection at the top of the dome makes it look like the rocket is heading toward some kind of portal, so you did make a space-themed portal after all.
What is "filament"? EL-wire? English isn't my native language, so a can't understand
amazing. love the reflection of the "flames" on top of the dome
freaking awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Can’t believe you created this from scratch, this channel should easily have over a million subscribers.
His skill is amazing. 👏
@@wyattschuster3012 , it really is, I personally don’t build models but find myself very envious of he’s skill and imagination.
I thought it was going to be a miniature rocket model, not Styrofoam tubes 😯
He's still one of our best kept YT secrets!
@@monkeybarmonkeyman , He is .
smooth jazz, top notch humor, and a great project.
great work as always. Keep it up!!
This is also such an amazing way to record history. Imagine a museum of world history but its just dioramas.
If you're ever in Hamburg, Germany, definitely check out Miniatur Wunderland!
I'm really impressed by the visual impact of the finished work; especially when compared to the simplicity of its construction. Thanks for posting this!
If I could buy this for my desk I would. Holy crap you've gotten good with those filaments!
I accidentally have three way switches too. Could be interesting to do a "two look" with different colors lighting up dpeneding on the switch position.
That’s a great idea! Should try that.
@@Boylei add a microcontroller and neopixels. You can control the brightness plus the colour temperature (there are neopixels with 3 "white colours" instead of RGB)
A Saturn V would have been classier, great work none the less! You're so good with those filaments!
this is literally the best scale spaceship launch in a jar ive ever seen
Wow, looks so good when it's lit up! Another great smoke/ lighting effect. ☺☺👍🏻👍🏻
That really come to life when you hit that switch, very cool.
Such a great result!! Would you consider making a short tutorial or slightly more in-depth dive on lights/LEDs/filaments, where to get them, how to connect them and how to power them? I'm just starting out with my first diorama project and I would love to incorporate some lighting effects as well, however I have no idea how to implement or even plan them lol
I agree wholeheartedly. I would even pay for a video about the filaments.
The glow reflection inside the jar makes it look super epic!
This is such a simple build but man, the wow factor when the lights were turned on was massive 🤯😍
this is the coolest diorama i have ever seen
dude! so good. The reflection from the glass adds so much life to it. Amazing paint work too.
I love your "Joe Everyman" approach to creating. Very approachable. I love your creations.
How can something so simple look so awesome when you add light! Stunning!! :)
That reflection it makes at the top of it looks really cool.
The exhaust looked incredible!
A time travel scenario would be awesome
The reflection on the top of the glass would be cool for a mushroom cloud or something like that.
That drill method is brilliant.
One of my favourite ones you have done. Very simple and looks so cool. Do the space shuttle next
Oooooo! When you hit the switch, it suddenly came to life! Gorgeous! Your smoke clouds really do look good. I love your stuff!
I love how that glow in the top of the glass looks like a golden galaxy the falcon is heading towards! Great build, like always! 🙂
I would love a lamp like this!
Very nice, as ever. The collection of tubes that run down the outside of a rocket is called the raceway, by the way. And those aren't fins, they're the landing legs (non-deployed, of course). Maybe next time a diorama of the two side boosters coming down to land? ;)
I love the "lathe" for shaping the ship's bell-end. That's some neat lateral thinking. The minis looks wonderful.
More real space related stuff please like Artemis and Apollo or Space Shuttle or even the start of the Wild West Space program like a rocket car! Love your stuff it’s always amazing. Saw your channel this week and have watched every video twice!
My wife got mad at me when I did that and that was over a year ago. But I couldn’t stop watching
This is probably my favorite diorama you’ve made so far
Awsome! So simple but so effective. The (unintentional?) reflection on the dome is beautiful.
Awesome stuff!! I'd also like to see the space portal, something inbetween a nebula and a Stargate portal.
It looks so incredibly good. Great made
Wow!!!
💪🏻🇩🇪👋🏻
It means "lovely" in English. And that is what I think of your diorama. Looking really awesome as always. Love how the top of the doom looks like a portal. Great work!
It would be cool if you made a monster hunting lodge with a bunch of stuffed and mounted monsters on the wall. Thank you for all the cool stuff you make, happy thanks giving.
Wow! So cool to see a space themed build!
This looks like a doctor who thing. Like a moment trapped in a case. Incredible
We all have to agree that his builds just get better and better everyday, like look at this masterpiece! INCREDIBLE
I live not too far from SpaceX Texas, so I took a screenshot so that when they are testing, I can look at your model and hear the rockets.
Great job!!!!!
That's one small SpaceX Launch in a Jar for man, one giant project for mankind !
"I made a Rocket Launch in a Jar". The things you come up with can make a grown man laugh their undergarments off mate. The fact that you thought you wanted to do this is awesome. If you want to do it, DO IT. I also think it's hilarious that you put #ElonMusk is the Description 🤣 keep up the good work!
-Your biggest fan.
@Boylei Hobby Time
Between watching Spacex launch’s and your videos… I am kept happy. Nice to see both my passions at the same time.
Great job!
I don't usually really like enclosed dioramas or vignettes since I feel the glass just gets in the way of viewing the piece, but this time the glass really enhances the viewing experience. The reflection on the top of the dome makes it feel like the rocket is heading into some kind of portal in the sky.
The final look of this is so DOPE! I really love the technique that you used to round the polystyrene using a drill a a lathe of sorts. Wicked, my friend, wicked! : )
"Härliga" means lovely (like very pleasant) about someting or some one in plural. Absolutely first class diorama, you, Sir, are an expert!
I would *love* a nightlight like this! 😻
Man.. i would buy that in a heart beat.. that is so awesome.. i hope you get that tour.. Great job.
Damn ,the effects look so good and cinematic , you are so talented
SO SIMPLE YET SO AMAZING!
This is fantastic! I need that dremel press. Love the smoke effects you do. So realistic the thumbnail looks like the real launch pics🤯
Next up Artemis?!?!
It's just amazing how you can take plain stock and turn it into something incredible. Rhanks for sharing and good luck on your target viewer.
Very well done! I was across the Indian River from Kennedy Space Center during the Falcon Heavy launch, and if it weren't for the dense fog that settled in over the water I imagine your model is what the launch would have looked like! We did hear - and feel - it take off, as well as the double sonic booms as two of the three boosters came back in for a landing.
We also watched the Orion-Artemis I launch, but from 50 miles further away at home. Night launches are always spectacular.
We were lucky enough to catch a Falcon Heavy launch on a perfect blue-sky day back in 2017, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life so far.
Dude, in two years you have become one of the best out here!… your skills in filming/editing and the hobby went from total garbage to amazing in these couple years..your work ethic and progress are truly inspirational! You deserve everything you have coming to you and will soon be there with crafsman as the gold standard on UA-cam.✌🏻
Edit: YOU HAVE MORE SUBS THAN CRAFSMAN!!
That's so cool! Like something Brainiac or Trazyn the Infinite would want in their collections.
A bit of a weird Q but where do you keep all of your builds?
Stunning. I would totally buy this and stare at it for hours on my desk.
That looks badass!!
Really love the reflection from the dome.
I would love to know where you get your battery housing and other electrical parts, I make dioramas myself, mostly of planes, but I wanted do one of an f-18 launching flares, and wanted lights for the flares. Can you help me out?
Sweet techniques using the Drexel as a miniature lathe😀👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome job!
I'll give you a 9/10 for the water bridge dad joke.
wish these could be bought. seen more then a few of his art I'd love to look at just before bed in the dark as it glows.
There are still Elon fanboys?
Now you just need to set this soundtrack inside the model jar
shame your talents went to making spacex and not nasa
Wow, great model
Damn Elon Musk Simp ❤
This would be literally the best Christmas gift for my husband...
Ngl, I'm pretty disappointed that Boylei wants anything to do at all with Elon.
FABULOUS!!!!! i absolutely love it!!!
Now do Elon Musk's Twitter, by streaming directly from your garbage can for 2 weeks and then light it on fire.
The fact that you didn’t painted the base with black 3.0 made my shed a little tear 😢
Cool build. Fuck Musk though
Not a normal watcher, just a space nerd and came across this video. I mostly liked your problem solving techniques until I saw it light up, and laughed out loud in surprise with how good it looked. We’ll done sir.
If kid me would have gotten this as a gift, It would have inspired me to become an astronaut.
Very scientificaly acurate!! There really is a dome 😉
This is SOOO amazing. Such a “simple” idea but so well made and it literally looks magical!!
Really amazingly evocative.
This is the most beautiful piece that I've ever seen! If you were from Brazil, probably I'd buy some of those! Congrats!
Wow! The final result is amazing.👍😊
This scene came out fantstic as always. You never disappoint. It is not just fact that your builds are so realistc and creative, your videos and naratives are more soothing and cheaper than therapy. As always, I am inspired by the current video and eagerly anticipating the next one.
IDK if it looks the same in person, but on video the bell dome adds a more realistic glow! This build is proof that the gut is smarter than the brain!
Wow you are talented extremely talented it looks AMAZING
Hope the tour was/will be fun !
Looks so awesome. The reflection on the dome of the glass inside is also really sweet!
A space shuttle launch or mid air flight would make for a really cool diorama given your mastery of the led filaments.
The clouds look so good! Fantastic
Härlig or Härliga is swedish (since it's from IKEA) and it means lovely! which is perfect cause this diorama was just lovely! greetings from sweden!
this stuff is incredible and you can watch and not get bored or anything you make the videos just long enough to show every detail yet leave it short enough to where you don’t get bored i love this
WOW, great project. I'm lucky enough to be close enough to see most of the Florida launches, weather permitting...
You made that look WAY too easy!
I got goosebumps when the lights came on. Fantastic!
