Improvised anchor using plastic tube: really loose when he wiggles it. Soldering iron kickstand out of wire: yeah, that won't be in the way at all. Wire caddy: Sure, have sharp metal screw points sticking into it where you wind your wire. Wood joint: That's called a dado joint and has been used for hundreds, maybe thousands, of years. Nut from angle iron: great, you just spent half an hour reinventing the 25 cent wing nut.
Exactly, because these tools (no pun intended) don't actually work in the fields of woodwork, metalwork etc, all they do is think up crap like this. If you're a tradesperson and don't have what it takes to do the job and need to revert to doing this crap then quit because you're useless.
Don't wipe your glue... Let it dry as it lays. Once it has dried it comes off clean and easy with a sharp chisel. That way the glue doesn't prevent the wood grain from receiving stains or finishes.
Some of this was very hard to watch. We gave a home depot here and alot of things have been made to cancel the need to invent lots of these things and they are cheap if your time is valuable. Smart people try and get more done not create tools to get more done and actually get less done by spending to much being smart
My favorite was when he made a wing nut. I was like wow, that had to be about necessity. This guy must be out of gasoline to go to the hardware store. He has metal and a grinder, a bolt and no way to attach it to whatever that NASA or Elon Musk product was going to be. So he made a space age wing nut. That is off the charts. I mean invention at its finest. God bless that man, truly.
Actually that idea is very helpful to me. For some reason, wing nuts just aren't available in my area. There are too few shops selling those and even then they don't have the size I need. Obviously I can just use a normal nut but it is not as handy in some situations. Or I can just weld 2 pieces of metal to a nut and call it a day! :))))))
Нет, ладно бы он циркуль из ножниц сделал, но для него судя по всему открытием является то, что если вещь с двумя дырками одной из них насадить на саморез, во вторую вставить маркер и всё это провернуть вокруг самореза, то получится круг
@@8eSix Right? Once in the bluest moon, you might see an interesting idea (the magnet and wrench idea), or at least, shitty execution that could be done more smartly. What gets me is how laborious some hacks are, just to get something truly shitty. Not this channel specifically, but the bottle caps and hot glue hacks come to mind.
Erm... the money you spent on making a retractable extension lead... you could have just bought a retractable extension lead..... maybe even 2 of them.
I'm not going to use most of these but the principles of thinking outside the box are solid. Like using the piece of downspout for organizer dividers. I would have tried taping cardboard together but this trick makes you think of long stock in the shape you need. Generalizable.
at video position 5:33, a person makes a cube 43X43, uses a forstner bit to drill in order to make a small one inside, is there someone can tell how deep to drill and the size of it? Tried from 33mm to 30mm, the little cube always comes out
Thank you for taking the time to post this. I enjoyed watching, even if I never use any of these ideas. By the way, to those who have nothing nice to say, I'm glad you are so above all of this.
Just practical ideas some good some nay. The soldering iron holder sucks...it gets in the way. Makeshift molly bolt in wall nay...loosely holds and will fail later.
the one with the plastic tube and hole, it's ironic how they went through all of that but yet it still wiggled after giving it the ol' wiggle/tug, where as if it was properly done .... It wouldn't have wiggled
Liked the simplest ideas best like the soldering iron rest but not fussed on the power cord reel idea....overengineered, takes up too much space and therefore could be awkward to store and if you had to buy components to make, it would not be cost effective.
Ich warte bei dieser Art Videos immer darauf, dass tatsächlich mal was gezeigt wird, das man entweder a) wirklich mal brauchen kann, oder b) nicht für wenige Cents/Euros an jeder Ecke zu kaufen gibt. The next video is great. He takes water and extracts the oxygen so he can breathe. He just walks past all that lovely breathable air and jumps into the sea to do it 🤣
Um, how big of a hole did you drill to fit that nut in? Are you sure that plastic tube expander will apply enough friction so that the impact wrench you're tightening it with doesn't make it spin out? That massive bolt will definitely be able to hold the bracket up. Just the bracket though.
I know this is picky, but did anyone else notice at 0:21 how poor the fit was? Not what I'd call amazing -- being off by that much I can do myself! And what exactly was the "another level of work" shown in the trick at 0:31 -- this is fine for a magician, but not a woodworker!
Absolutely none, because most of them are useless, or completely ridiculous. In the last video he used a piece of scrap metal, an angle grinder, a drill, a tap, lubrication for the tap and a whole lot of time... just to make a wing nut... he has all that equipment, but not a single wing nut, nor the time or economy to buy one?

Idk how this will take me to another level of working honestly… there’s cool ideas, but only depends on what kind of work you’re trying to accomplish

Paper trick for cutting flooring was good. Other than that most were to time consuming for me to consider.
Would have looked better if the piece of cut laminate fitted properly
Yeah @BaalsMistress I immediately noticed the trick didn't help. I wouldn't want my floor to have gaps like that.

I love how on the very first one he did with the paper he still had a gap on the right side.
I think the wall wasn't straight. He should have checked that, though.
And it wasn’t wood
Just buy a 4 ft adjustable drywall square already sheesh

To get a nut deep in a spot. Glue the nut to a wire. After you tighten the bolt to the nut. Pull hard on the wire to break the glue spot.
Easier to put piece of paper in wrench jaws and just force nut in. It holds .. Also works on sockets.

Reverse the drill when going through plastic, much smoother, less barbs and less likely to break

My dad did that with a caravan cord the rest of the wire on the roll acted as an electro magnet and burst into flames
Why? If it's wired correctly there should be no issue.

@@se-kmg355 Then it's not wired correctly. IE: wrong gauge wire. If you cord is heating up, it's too small of a gauge.
I have a reel that states while wound it can handle up to 720W, while unwound it goes up to 2500W. And why do you think that is?
