Side note: Love the clarity of your reviews. Good presentation, and always very clear. Thumbs up.

Very good video. I enjoyed this game quite a bit. The scoring is much easier to determine than it sounds, and the decisions you make in this game are very interesting.

Appreciate all the effort in how you organize and put together your video reviews Jon. Great job! No boardgame reviewer puts in as much time as you do to create this type of quality product! An idea ... Maybe use a scoring rating based on BGG's 1-10 , but change it up, "So I'd give this game 6 out of 10 JGG's light bulbs". Something like that. Just nice to have some kind of rating at the end. Keep up the good work!

The light bulb sounds great but just for the greater games according to Jon, the rating isn't necessary

+Glen Just I've been scaling back the amount of text I put in the review portion, and considered putting a rating in with the conclusions. I haven't made up my mind yet, but I'll keep your opinion in with my consideration :)

+JonGetsGames Sweet. Yeah, I'm sure like most of us that subscribe to your channel, we really appreciate your format and all the work you put into every review. I think every reviewer out there has a preference for certain games, so one reviewer might not like a game, but another one really does like it! But that's what is great about watching and getting to know different game reviewers and their likes and dislikes. As more people get to know you and subscribe, my thought is that its good to know, "Oh hey, Jon rates this game a little higher (or lower if that's the case!) then this other game. I'll take that into consideration in my purchasing of games." Again, just my thoughts. Thanks Jon!

Try reserving the smaller value cards. This way you do not make the buy market too easy for the other players to purchase. And it means that the price of market WITH your reserved card is more manageable when the round comes to you. OR use your reservation token to prevent other players from buying a market that advances their preferred boat color to the final dock.
Think of it not as a reservation token, but as a DELAYING other player actions token.
Also - reserving the lower value cards grants you a chance to grab a protect against tide.

Great "how to" and review video!!! However you skipped explaining the insured goods are turned sideways and always remained insured, so you won't lose so many goods each round. This may change your game play experience?

Also another tip is to reserve cards that have insurance markers, which can save your cargo later, and also doesn't lower the market price that much so your opponents don't get too big of a discount. Reserving a high price card will create that situation of you being forced to buy high and give big discounts to players, I'm not sure if that is the most beneficial way of using your reserve marker.

+savannafc I genuinely didn't notice that in the rules, and it does strengthen the insurance action abit for sure. I can see this changing the playing experience abit, but likely not enough to cause any real changes in my overall opinions of the game. Thanks for pointing that out!

I played this one when it was Traders of Carthage. I was honestly bored by the end of our game and have zero interest in playing it again. Definitely not my speed.

The scoring formula is a little off putting. Seems clunky.

I think he wanted to say, "if i wanna do equations ill take a weekend calculus refresher". This set of over-complex rules is frankly ridiculous in my opinion.
