Nice kit Bud. Well thought out. I'm smiling cause it's very similar to what I put together. Only thing I'd add, an ESEE 4 Plain edge. Easily straps to the back of the Fatty. Nearly indestructible. Awesome knife. 2 things I'd change, 1) switch your antiseptic for Tea Tree Oil. It's all natural, and kills everything. I mean everything!! 2) Exchange the Blanket for the S.O.L. Poncho. Much easier to set up as a cover in nasty weather. Great stuff Richie! Cheers

I just found your channel and glad I did. As a retired military IDMT/Air Rescue technician and instructor I love seeing what other military oriented people put together for survival kits. I worked with EOD on many gunnery range clean-ups as I was their assigned medic. However, the techs taught me many aspects of their specific jobs...even allowing me to participate in an explosion of unexploded 500 pounders and ordnance. Much respect and kudos to all EOD technicians! I'm glad to see that someone else believes in redundancy, too. My kit is very similar to yours however my pouch is a coyote camo version. I do mostly solo trips into the wilderness and mountains near my home; and many overland camping/exploration excursions as well. (Love your overland rig!) At 73 I don't like to carry heavy backpacks like I use to so lately I've been using my old parachute pack which holds about 10 to 15 liters of gear, water and food including my survival pouch (5.64lbs). After several "practice runs" I've fine-tuned it and my load out. The average weight of my load outs is 15 pounds; however, I will go to a Mystery Ranch Scree 32 liter pack to survive the winter excursions. I love chest packs as well. I have an Emerson and one by Helikon Tex. Everything I need to survive is right in front of me including a scout-mounted Esee Izula, a custom hatchet, Leatherman, multiple fire starting methods, survival blankets and a survival tent, orange mylar poncho, SOL bivvy, compact IFAK, pepper spray, Baofeng UR-5R ham radio and my Ruger plus two extra magazines. Also four energy bars, four trioxane tablets, Suunto MC-2 compass/signal mirror/magnifying glass with attached pace beads are included. I usually carry a Grayl water bottle that can filter outside sources such as rivers, lakes, waterfalls, etc., otherwise my chest pack can accommodate a Sawyer mini and a 2 liter Evernew reservoir that's secured in a molle capable pouch. Recently, I found a Wynex chest pack for 21 bucks on Amazon, black, and I'm putting it together for stealth camping, an activity I love to do...reminds me of military missions I participated in.

Good kits. Some additional ideas: 1) Paracord survival bracelet (comes with mini compass, whistle, paracord, Fire starter) Could replace woven paracord bracelet with survival cord (Paracord+fishing line+wire+fire tinder). 2) Small bottle of alcohol based hand sanitizer in kit, can use to clean wounds and use as fire accelerant. 3) Get one of those 3600 calorie bar packs, 3 day supply. and stick in in there, could be eaten over multiple days and no prep involved. It is a GO bag after all, so you might always be moving for several days. 4) For a compass: Learn how to use your watch (Analog w/hands, not digital) as a compass, AND the sun AND stars.
    5) When getting the glow sticks, I would suggest getting the 12 hour sticks. 6) Ditch the regular laces in your boots and replace with survival cord, use shrink tubing on ends. 7) Credit card multi-tool, w/ fish hooks/arrowhead/saw blade, that can be broken off from them.
For the second kit, I think I would use floss instead of the cord to tie things into the kit if that's what you want to do, which could also be used to repair clothing/boots/gloves or for sutures, if needed.
One thing to remember for these kits, think like an ultra light hiker, you need to have as many items serve multiple purposes as possible and as shown in the video, backups for critical items.

Very cool! A small bottle of benzoin, it's a type of tree sap but what it does is when you get a blister or a tear on your hands and feet it literally creates brand new skin with a little piece of moleskin. Or even paper you can completely fix a blistered foot or a cut on the pad of your hand it's really amazing stuff

Fyi-you can buy the pedialyte in individual powder packets. I keep 4 or 5 in my bags, just in case. I also keep a mosquito headnet (takes up no space hardly) to use not only if bugs are really bad, but you can strain water, use to catch fish, store wet clothing, etc. i think i got two headnets in individual little pouches for $7.

another thing I would suggest is a bottle of colloidal silver (min 40ppm) which is the level best anti-microbial/bacteria you can use on wounds or infections of anytime for record breaking healing! Great bid and a great little kit, very similar to what I put together and what I have as backup for my main kit.
Just one point to note. An EpiPen will not help with treating a snakebite and may worsen it. Epinephrine is adrenalin which excites your body and may actually speed up venom transfer in your blood stream and it's effects.
For a venomous snake bit the patient should be kept calm to slow the heartbeat, the affected limb immobilized and medical care sought and if you have antivenom this needs to be injected.
In bites from other venomous critters all epinephrine does is counter any potential allergic reaction that may lead to anaphylaxis (anaphylactic shock or extreme allergic reactions) which are extremely uncommon for venomous bites and are usually from stings (bee etc.) The epinephrine does nothing to counteract the venom.

Creek , streams, rail road tracks, and underground.. be acutely aware of your surroundings , above ground and underground, kayak, boat, bike car, depends on ones tools they have , area, and escape routs, most folks will never thoroughly scout any of this out until it’s too late... but I hope that some will prepare in these ways... some... I’m still scouting and I’ve been doing it and will continue to.. my intent is to help others and ourselves... others... are very very few , they will not do any preparation for escape, we have routed pathways to rescue a few family members , all along many think they can’t leave without taking a highway! Lol I found many routes that are very remote roads , it wasn’t hard to do at all, it just took a little motivation, many have no motivation . Thanks and be well.

EXCELLENT! MY WIFE AND I WERE BOTH S.AR. (NON-MILITARY), BUT CAN WE GET OUR KIDS TO CARRY SURVIVAL GEAR? DREAM-ON, WE'RE JUST "CRAZY OLD MOM AND DAD." THIS IS SO GOOD, RITCHIE, I SUBSCRIBED. MY KIDS WILL GET THESE DONE AND CARRY THEM. AND I WILL ENFORCE MY EDICT WITH MY MILITARY BOOTS, WHICH, AS AN OLD THAI BOXER, CAN TAKE WING TO COLLIDE WITH RECTUMS AT BLINDING SPEED. PARENTS! TIMES=UP FOR KIDS NOT CARRYING PROPER GEAR. THESE ARE VERY DANGEROUS TIMES. GET SOME BOOTS ON AND LAY DOWN THE DAMN LAW-YESTERDAY! WE DID NOT POUR OUR LIFE'S ENERGY INTO OUR CELLPHONE-MESMERIZED OFFSPRING TO SEE THEM DIE STUPID, AND UNPREPARED...EARTH, IS A "CONFLICT ZONE"...LOOK AROUND.

Ever since I’ve been little I’ve had the same dream over and over again. It’s always the same military and citizens trying to break in my house and me escaping out the back and running down the big hill behind my house another time I was running down my long driveway. I’m now wandering was god trying to warn me of something? I hope to god not cuz I woke up sweating from these dreams every time. I can only imagine if it were real 🙏

A major event will take place here in the US. TROOPS FROM UN WILL ARRIVE. THEY WILL GO HOUSE TO HOUSE TO sort and round up people for FEMA camps or kill you if your old. Sleep outside away from your house at night that when they will go door to door late night early morning you will not be found.

I used to have recurring nightmares similar to yours when I was young.
Take control of your situation, harden your home, have offsite prep storage and a few caches.
      You'll sleep a lot better!

I like how the AF guy tied things to his bag. Overall I think your bag is better. The emphasis you put on first aid and helping people says a lot about you as a person.

A fanny pack for an e & e bag would be great, you don't want to carry it, need hands free for weapons, etc, suspenders are also excellent for holding up cargo pants, heavy pockets or even your fanny pack, you don't want to be fighting keeping your britches up while walking, belts don't hold your pants up, once you've used suspenders you'll wonder how you lived without them!

Richie what are your thoughts on survival stuff for animals? I have 7 rescue dogs that I am worried about when SHTF. Obviously I will have a hard time bugging out. I know that may sound like a stupid question but I am new to all this..

Just wondering, if you can't afford an
EPI pen cause they run around $300 a
pop, would an antihistamine help some?
    Like Benadryl?
