- First perfect grade and the first time actually painting a kit. It was a lot harder than I anticipated but it wasn't too bad. Took me almost 16 hours to build and another few days to paint. I mean for a 20-year-old kit that was the first of its kind it was pretty all over the place when it came to difficulty. The kit itself was brittle and tight. The rubber undersuit was absolutely horrendous considering it took me 2 hours alone to get it onto the frame. The lights in the shoulders weren't too difficult to build but the lights themselves weren't the best anyway (20-year-old kit is showing its age). All in all, I enjoyed this one even though it drove me crazy in a lot of parts. looking forward to my next build. definitely going to be smaller and less complicated. lol
I definitely have more builds coming up so expect more uploads soon....ish.
Man. All these videos of the Perfect Grade Eva 01 makes me want Bandai to revisit the Perfect Grade for Evangelion and maybe other mecha franchises as well.

Ive never built one of these or any other builds for that matter but always wanted to. really wanna try it after watching NGE recently. it looks complicated as hell but i imagine it feels great after assembling it.
This kit is actually super tight in the joints and kinda hard to move around. I mean it was fun to build and a great experience when it comes to painting (for me at least) but Man is it hard to work with LOL I would say if you’re trying to build any of these go with the high-grade versions that they made a while ago or even the real grades. I also recently built a Kotobukia kit and it was kind of horrible.
Definitely don’t let this comment discourage you from trying tho😅 this hobby is definitely worth getting into and experiencing so I’d say get a real grade some snippers and have at it

Definitely should. A PGU version of this would be amazing
This kit is more like a LMHG 2.0 due to the articulation and the finished kit in general
nice build. I could feel how awful the rubber body was to deal with. not looking forward building it myself, but I wanted a tv eva. not a fan of the rebuild designs. is that a HG eva next to it?
Yeah it’s the rebuild high-grade re-issue. I think it was for the second movie though

9/10 i really like it but the thing is don't like the eyes turned off but i STILL like it it's very great
Yeah, at the time I didn’t know any work around to getting them to look good with the lights off. I think if I’d made it now I probably would’ve painted them separately and put the light in the chest orb.
Built it a while ago, the rubbery material for the inner frame is so annoying to deal with.

Love that you introduced some Rebuild on the chest, but definitely not the odd-color belly.
The rubber skin are just beautiful. And in classic TV color profile

Overall would you say this kits worth it?
Tbh at this point no. It’s too much of a hassle to get that rubber suit on and the engineering is extremely outdated. The lights are annoying to install and the joints are far too tight.
If you want to build an Eva I’d definitely go with the Meng Model. Only downside is that it’s MASSIVE.
How did you put together the hand ?
I used the base hands. The gripping hands needed glue but the type I had didn’t work on that plastic.

Bbts claims to have them up for preorder but if I were you id definitely look for the Meng Model. It’s bigger and the engineering is just perfect compared to the mess/difficulty of this one.
Does it come with english instruction?
Honestly I don’t remember if the instructions were in English or not but I had Google translate to help me with anything couldn’t figure out and everything was mainly illustrated clear enough to be able to figure things out. Granted it was still hard to put together 😅 not the best PG if it’s your first Like it was for me

Is the difficulty the same as PG Gundams?
The actual build isn’t too tough. It’s the rubber suit that ruins the whole build though. Not even the old lighting system was that bad.
