    Doing your own maintenance and repairs may have been an inconvenience but you'll be glad you learned how. Owning a motorcycle is a rewarding experience and the experience will come in handy.

    Thanks for explaining about not being able to get work done on it. I was thinking seriously about getting the Venom Ghost 250 but I would need to be able to take it somewhere to get the work done on it. After watching your video I have decided to go with a more reputable brand that bike shops are accustomed to working on.

      Thank you, @@laligagging ! I passed my MSF and just updated my license earlier this week. I'm revisiting this vid and I feel torn about the Venom. What do you miss about it? What was your top fave 3 things about it? I think I'm also excited about the fact that I'd get to do the oil changes and stuff to really form a relationhip with it. I love the super hero look/vibe of it and want to consider all of the cons. My list of pros right now is that it is a 250 which I feel is good for a beginner who just wants to ride around town, for now. But my friend also has a Honda Rebel 250 which she might sell me for less than the ghost. I don't think I've ever been more torn about a decision in my life, lol. THere's just something that I find so alluring about the ghost.

      Hey there! If the rebel is in good shape, and you like how it feels, I would go for it! I liked my ghost…it was new and shiny, but I appreciate having a heavier, more substantial bike. I also like having the opportunity to get maintenance if I don’t want to do it myself. I didn’t have that with the ghost. The ghost isn’t bad, but I sold it quickly for something new. Follow your heart though! Either way, enjoy riding 😊

    Ghost is a great beginner bike! Part of owning a motorcycle is learning how to take care of it. I plan on getting rid of mine soon too. But I love it and have never had a problem with it.

    I’m a beginner rider. Should just start with the Continental GT Royal Enfield? I’m interested in the venom sportster chopper.

    • @laligagging
      @laligagging  Рік тому +2

      If you aren’t sure you will like riding or if the price tag is a large part of your consideration, a venom bike is a good way to go, but if you don’t mind buying a more expensive bike, you’d be getting way more value in starting with the Royal Enfield. It is enough power to grow into, it’s super stylish, and it comes with a better warranty. If I could go back, I would probably buy my Royal Enfield interceptor first and skip the venom bike altogether. Good luck riding!

    Take a look at the Honda Shadow Series if you ever want to go higher. I'm thinking of getting one as my 3rd bike.

      Hi there! From handlebars to ground is 42in which is about 3.5feet. I’m about 5’7. The bike allowed me to comfortably sit on it, but was ultimately pretty low. Anyone taller might have an issue

    Is the venom ghost a good first bike? Id be using for getting from point A to point B and just for riding around. Do you think it's worth it just for that kinda use?

    • @laligagging
      @laligagging  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! I would get the fuel injected version of the bike though. The carburetor is so annoying when it gets cold. But I used to ride the bike around town, and the neighborhood, and to work. It is fast enough to go on the Hwy, but I wouldn’t take it on the interstate.

      @@laligagging do you think I should get the Honda Rebel 500 Instead? I'm worried that the ghost won't be reliable.

    • @laligagging
      @laligagging  2 роки тому

      There are plenty of bikes you can get in that price range (a little more expensive than the ghost) that are great bikes. I haven’t ridden a Honda rebel, but I’ve heard good things. I went with a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Several of my friends have REs. I know someone who had a Yamaha MT07. He loved that bike. Watch a few videos and do a test ride, so you can see what you like. It will be much easier to get a more popular brand serviced. The Ghost will be something you’ll have to tinker with yourself. It is also only a 250, so it’s much slower.
