Girl, brands need to send you more PR because you are so good at trying, explaining and comparing products. I don’t buy a brush until I see your review. You haven’t led me astray yet😁 I think I will buy this set from SoniaG.
Nobody does a brush review like you, Alicia! Views, pre & post wash, details of how, where, when the brushes are made, comparisons, demo, references! All in your smooth voice! Love you friend!
I’ve been sooo sick for almost 2 months. I kept saying I have to wash my brushes. My husband kept saying just buy new ones 😂 bless him. He has no idea these are like my little friends. I finally washed them all today. It took an hour and a half but they look soooo nice.
Sonia G has my favorite brushes. I passed on these at this time, maybe I can grab them later. Bobo's second pre-order for the silver fox face brush released today, so I grab that one.
I was one of those people who said I’d never buy luxury brushes, but you convinced me with the eye set and I’m very happy I did! They really are the softest brushes I’ve ever felt and I’ve enjoyed using them so much, so I’m intrigued by these.
Thanks for comparing TF1 to the Niji Pro! I have the Keyaki Niji mini and also read Sonia's blog and was delighted to see she compared it as well. Sounds like the TF1 is an airier, fluffier brush. I'm so bloody tempted gahhhhh. I might put it on my wishlist and start saving up for it :)
Oh, and I think SURELY the next brush Sonia does in this series should be a fan. Just imagine how amazing a fan like the Worker would look with the kakishibu dye and the keyaki handles. Personally I would like to see her do a new fan shape that you don't usually see in the West... something like the Hakuhodo F1410, F1310 or the F1312. Basically Sonia's answer to the Wayne Goss Holiday 2018 brush which remains my fav multipurpose cheek brush ever :)
@@aliciaarcher I completely agree! I love that you are also a fan of a good fan brush :) I have the Fundamental Fan A which I think is the only angled fan she's ever done, and I love it - it's so versatile and precise. If she did something bigger like the F1312, you'll be able to hear me screaming all the from Australia 🤣
Thank you for reviewing them. I’m so glad these are permanent, I want to pick up the TF2 and 3 at some point in the future. I have almost all of her brushes but never can get enough. Would love to see her make an angled blush/bronzer brush like the chikuhodo fox haired brush.
I adore kakishibu. It literally makes me smile to just glance at it. Which is such a weirdo thing to say, but it’s true. I loved loved loved the base series. I actually wish I had bought 2. She makes other brushes that more beautiful, but if I could only use 1 set for the rest of time it would have to be that one. I actually use them everyday, not just stare at them. Those and her Lotus, I did manage to grab an extra lotus base, love that fan foundation brush so much.
I want these soo much! Especially TF2. I already know what I'm getting myself for Christmas, but I will be saving up to get these next March's birthday. 😊💚
Your timing is perfect! I ordered this set and 3 of the eye brushes. I saw something similar on another website and was just drawn to the way these brushes look. I didn’t buy that one, but when I found out that Sonia G was planning to release a set, I was sold! They’re beautiful! All I needed was the accompanying Alicia post. You gave us everything we need to know about this lovely set. Now, I just have to get the 3 remaining eye brushes to complete this set. Awesome post!
I absolutely love your brush videos, you explain each brush so well. How about a collab between you and Sonia 🤔 sign me up for that 🙌 i picked up TF2 and TF3. I love the eye brushes, so when i seen these i just had to have 😊
So, I bought them the day they released. I could not resist. I haven’t been home to wash them or test drive them. Your analysis is extremely welcome. Thank you ❤
First of all, LOVE , LOVE, LOVE your SG Brushes review!!! secondly, I was curious to know how one should wash their brand new, unused brushes for the first time? do you wash them in plain water, or do you actually add some mild soap/brush shampoo? what's your advice? ..oh and I see you there!! almost hitting the 100K subscribers!!! youppiii!!! : )
Thanks for reviewing these brushes. I have a few individual brushes. Haven’t ordered a set yet but thinking about getting the Keykai Kakishibu eye set! Can you recommend a brush cleaner?
Definitely need a permanent Hinoki 1 size and shape in the collection! I missed that limited edition, and that size and shape is missing in her collection.
Ooohhhhhh I can’t wait to get all three !! 😅🙌💃🏻❤️ happy back to work to me ! It’s the perfect gift from me to me 😂❤ oh I can’t wait to use the biggest brush with my ambient lighting finishing powders 🎉 eeeekk I’m so excited !
Alicia... I love them. I'm pining away with longing for them 🤣I think I'm going to get either the TF2 or TF3 and save up for the TF1 because it is just one of the most iconic looking brushes I have ever seen. It's like a love letter to fude craftsmanship in a brush. Do you have thoughts on the feel of the TF2 compared to Master Face and performance compared to Soft Cheek? I hope it's ok to ask, you are kind of like my peronal brush guru!! I'm looking for something that can give me a blended but not too wide application of pigmented blush... I have Master Face and am obsessed with the dense pom pom feel and would love a blush brush version, but I don't want to be stupid buy the wrong brush just because I like pom poms on sticks 😅
Oooo Master Face 😍 It definitely has a denser feel. Almost like a pom Pom Niji Pro, but round. Soft Cheek has more fluidity and movement on the blend. I would use Master Face with those gelee textures, or to buff in powder foundation. TF2 is more like the soft cheek in feel.
@@aliciaarcher Thank you so much for the detailed comment - the comparisons are really helpful. I think the moral of the story is I should just get the TF2 because it's the shape I'm looking for, it's exquisite, and if the 11* Sonia G brushes I already own are anything to go by... that woman has never made a bad brush :) I appreciate that you take the time to reply to your commenters. You don't have to do that and it's super helpful to get your thoughts. *Lol I edited this comment because I thought I had 7, then 8, then 9... no I have 11! 11 Sonia G brushes and they are alll wonderful.
@@diamarieful it’s my pleasure! I know it can be tough making purchases online, especially when they’re expensive ones! I’m happy to know that I can help you in some way.
Hi Alicia, if you could choose the two best face powder brushes from Sonia, which would they be? I'd like to buy a face powder brush from Sonia. Thanks!
Hey I really like your content and the transparent way you approach everything you present on your channel..so I will trust your answer to my question (since online research did not yield any results for me..) Do we know how these animal hair are collected for the brushes that Sonia G produces?I would really like to own one of her sets and I have no problem with ethical sourcing of leather or hairs. But I have a serious problem when animals are mistreated for my vanity purposes. Sonia G is not providing any info openly but would it be possible for you to ask the company since you reveive the brushes?
What we know is that the majority of hair comes from the pest, food, and fashion industries. I also have a post on my community board discussing this very topic. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ndll10Y5T19S8Moa6uBWj6bmU3LjPlP?si=CcNWGOeE-A17Bntk If you’re not entirely comfortable with the means through which these hairs are acquired, then I would not buy the brushes. In short, because the hairs are taken from the pest and food industries, the animals are already dead. Some hairs like silver fox are known to be farmed. If you want more clarity, then I would write Chikuhodo, as an example, directly and find out more.
You can, but if the cream is stiff, then the bristles will bend which will damage them. I would use something fluid/liquidy, that the bristles can glide on without too much manipulation. And sparingly!
Loose blush? Hmmm I think I’ve got a pot of a Nars O glowy blush somethin’ somethin’. I am definitely getting the TF3 so when I do I will have to dig out that pot. I’m quite torn re the TF1 tho. I mean, I love it, who wouldn’t? But I use mostly harder pressed powders that I do then want to apply lightly. And I should try to stop buying brushes for the art rather than to be functional. (Trying to convince myself over here😂)

I’m happy to know that you recovered! If only hubs knew how expensive it can be to buy clean new brush friends 🤣
Thanks a lot for this review! I just wish you had also compared them to Sonia's Mt. Fuji brush and the Koyudo brushes.
Drat! I forgot about that one. I will be happy to throw it on a short when I get home.

I use the beauty blender soap, as I have several from my Sephora point rewards. Any mild soap will do!
I have the eye brushes and I’m thinking of getting the face brushes, but I still use my Wayne Goss original series face brushes. Can’t decide!
Hey hey! Was it the original series before Wayne’s rebrand with the squirrel hair?
@@aliciaarcher yes, before the rebrand!
Thanks for the review and I'm picking up the T3🎉.
