- This is the 5th video in this series. We are taking the Traxxas TRX4 and Axial Base Camp and upgrading them one for one. Then running them head-to-head to find out which rig will be king of the hill. We added a lot of upgrades in stage 2. The most of any stage so far. Here are the links.

I built a TRX4 Sport Kit and used stainless steel screws, front overdrive, rock pirates shock towers along the build and never used the bumpers. Added dual stage foams on the stock Canyon Trails with Amazon beadlocks. No added brass. Used an old 1080esc I had laying around and a very old Titan motor I had laying around. Bought a receiver to pair up to an existing transmitter. Very happy with it. It's so reliable even when abused. No issues whatsoever.
That rig is a tank. Beefy chassis. You can't go wrong with the 1080 and RPRC shock towers. Nice build.

No sir. I am.still.in the process of stage 4. The faster my channel started to grow, the more products I started to cover. If you just review 2 products, you limit the interest. I have all the parts in now and plan on starting the next round of upgrades soon. I am personally at a mental block with brushed or brushless on these rig because I want to keep them waterproof but love low end performance.

@tomas montalvo Nope the TRX4 Sport is awesome. It will cost less to upgrade and the frame is built very well.

How were you able to install the bumper? I ordered the same one but the parts to mount it are not squared like the stock bumper.
I have round and square mounts. They have a package that comes with both.
I was looking closely at both of these just recently, trying to decide which one would be my next crawler. I ended up with a Vanquish VS4-10 Phoenix Portal. BUT... I still want a TRX-4 Sport (kit) at some point.

@@hyperc5249 Already subbed! Looking forward to Stage 3. BTW I have a TRX-4 Defender I keep going back 'n forth on whether or not to sell... I like the thing but dunno if it'll do well enough crawling... I still want the TRX-4 Sport Kit... so many cars, so little time and money. :)
i been running the hell out of the basecamp for months bashed it off cliffs done huge 20 foot drops to the ground and sunk it the river, the only thing i have mangled is the links, they are terrible.
Yeah that is absolutely the weakest LINK. Lol I have dropped mine off the eliminator over and over. Hard hits. And it just keeps running.
