The body of this guitar is almost better than a lot of so called premium guitars of today. It feels so well balanced and glues to your hands .
I bought this beautiful Ibanez rgrt a few years ago in the now, no longer in production, walnut flat and love it!

I’ve been playing mine quite a bit since I got it. It’s a great guitar. Sounds quite a bit different from my trusty Schecter CR-6 that I use all the time.
Hell yeah, I have an old Mahogany RG that has the INF3-4 with the coil split with the 5 way blade. It is pretty freaky cool guitar.
I have the same set of pickups in my RG120. Pretty damn good, was pleasantly surprised.
Just bought this for $450 as a fresh demo. I’m not a metal player but I love the playability of this thing. So easy, smooth & fast to slide around on & bend. My other guitars are 9.5, 10 & 12 radius so I love how flat the fretboard is. Pull offs sound more convincing. Tuners are tight & nut was cut right so I may not replace anything

Damn neck thru with a reverse headstock for around 500 dollars that’s pretty crazy. Ibanez is the only big brand that can compete in all price points. It’s be hard for me not to recommend a GIO for someone getting into guitar over the Amazon brands . I almost bought one of those blue gios a couple years ago just because It had a reverse headstock. Ibanez and Yamaha are about the only two companies that you can by a 200 dollar guitar up to a 5,000 dollar guitar and both of them and everything in between be top notch and anything under 1000 for them is going to punch way above it’s price point.
Some of the best value guitars i have ever played have been ibanez guitars. Great review, Robert.
Ibanez does make a good product. I have a few neck through body RGT42FM .. ok. One left now. I made the other 3 into ML and Splittail shapes. But even the RGT42FMDX I was buying used for $299. In 2011. Now I've been buying used RG320dx. Or even Good GRG120DX new for $250. You don't have to go broke to get competent components and a great base to improve on
Budget RGs are great guitars for the money. I’m not much of a metal player these days but I’ll pick up my RG120 if I do play some.
Like I tell my wife it's the golden age of guitar manufacturing, bang for the buck has never been greater. On a related note Ibanez has finally released a half priced Nita Strauss model shredder, now if they can make em in a cool color scheme!
I've noticed many offshore companies have been making products equal to or better than the leading brands made in the USA serving notice on pricing Gibson as well as Fender instead of lowering prices have equipped lower level guitars with some of their "better" parts and raised those price points soon ppl will abandon those brands and try other brands
And there’s not much difference between the JIVA10 and JIVA Jr.

Whatever happened to all the neck through guitar from Ibanez ? They have only like 3 models with neck through these days ? It is this guitar , that extreme looking guitar "xiphos" and one other very expensive guitar was all that I could find.
I find it to be much more comfortable to play and the sustain usually holds for longer I feel with neck through necks. Are they too expensive to build or what happened to all their neck through models ? Solar guitars have neck through on almost every model and they are pretty cheap compared to other metal guitars. I wonder why Ibanez has almost stopped making them.
I would love me a neck through Ibanez "SA" model with locking tremolo but I can not find a guitar like that. The Ibanez Xiphos is kind of expensive and looks too extreme for the bands I play with haha.

i think Ibanez has both the best bang for buck in the guitar indrustry overall and one of the largest lineups overall of any guitar manufacture, no matter what you play Ibanez has several models for ya.
Schecters are also good these days.
Hi Robert, i bought this model a few years ago and put in a Di marzio Super Distortion in the Bridge and a Bluesbucker on the neck. Sounds fantastic. Short Info: Ibanez used on this model Mahagony to 2018. The models 2019 till today have Nyatoh wings. Very light weight. Is your model from 2018 or older?

@@RobertWJackson just take a look at the headstock :-) first two numbers after the letter is the year of production. Keep on rocking!
I really don't want a heavy assed mahogany ax again. I can do just fine with bolt on necks too. It looks cool and sounds cool but you could probably get the same look and sound at 35% less the cost

I've owned a '90's Jem, and a 2009 RG, but never connected with them . Just me. Same with PRS.

Nah, not me. I own a couple and I enjoy them, but calling me an Ibanez “nut” is a huge stretch.
Unless you got an older model, I don't think they're mahogany anymore. Nyatoah or whatever.
Hi Robert, I just have never been an Ibanez fan. I do not like the head. Other than that, it looks great. Great video.
reverse head stock (makes bending on the high E string very easy due to the less tension it requires to have in order to be in tune) with neck thru body construction is very good for solo plays.
