Some of these ads showing the beginning of the end,....the end of reliable public transport, a publicly owned post office (Royal Mail) & selling off our energy services to overcharge us for them and get less of a service.
Adverts last century covered household shopping too cars, now its gambling & charity ads wanting your savings with BLM saturating every advert & programmes. Its pretty racist to be frank.
A rare animated trailer for Disney's 1940 classic "Pinocchio" , followed by a featurette with the popular Gummi Bears is shown. The Gummis (Sunni,Tummi,Zummi,Cubbi,Grammi and Gruffi) starred in a very successful television series in the U.S. of A.
@j smithIn 1985, Disney aired "The Adventures of the Gummi Bears" and was a hit series for six seasons. The Gummis (Sunni,Tummi,Zummi, Grammi,Cubbi and Gruffi) lived in a secret place called Gummi Glen in Dunwyn. Occasionally, they are visited by a Gummi named Gusto, who lived near the ocean and loved to do deco art.
Yep was just gonna say the knock your block off ad girl is Kellie Bright from Eastenders, The Upper Hand & that Only Fools and Horses prequal Rock and Chips. Her brother Simon played either Boz or Baz on Live And Kicking on saturday morning kids tv along with Andi Peters playing the other character they used to give out the prizes in long brown coats. He seems to have disappeared from tv, now but she still on our screens.
Wow @ 15:48 Anthony Hopkins still having to earn a crust by narrating the British Gas advert, just shows he didn’t really become a household name and star until - Silence of the Lambs, in 1990.
goodness, the Gila Copper Mine pr. - (hee-la), mythological smelting, super secret secure transport, to finish the stitching on a pair of dungeries with a copper knob. oops, to Secure the Stitching of THEE American Brand, Levi. Levi Jeans. LOL !!!
GEEES!!!!! Presto supermarket... i used to be asst manager in our one. no one seems to remember Presto. Did they get changed to Tesco or wat?....."You'll be impressed with Presto" lol
Presto was the new larger branches of Liptons. The name came from the first store at Preston Grange, North Shields. They where mainly in the North East of England. In the early nineties they were bought out by Safeway. All gone now. I was a rep for Van den Berghs (oils and fats) and called on about 10 of their branches on Tyneside.
I think you must be right because a Currys ad here features the ZX Spectrum +2 computer of which was Amastrad's first model after the company purchased (original makers) Sinclair.....in _1986_ !
Commercial Union ad at the end: you're telling me that in the Highlands, nobody moved. No tractors, no Land Rovers? Nope. But a Morris Marina - apparently - COULD! Yeah right!
A fantastic trip down memory lane. No not from 1985 though. This is from 1986 or 1987. The Pedigree chum advert states it was the 1986 winner. Also the ZX Spectrum +2 came out in 1986. Thoroughly enjoyable to watch all the same!
yes - those segments are clearly from pre Christmas 1986. But there are a range of dates here - British Airways new Club World 1:10:49 for instance, would be no earlier than January 1988 (when the Club World brand was launched)
I love the music on the Taunton Cider advert... Anybody know what it is? Obviously the lyrics are about the cider, but I'm just wondering if its a sample from a real song
Trying to find a particular ad - I think it was in the 80s. Can't remember what it sold. It featured a piece of film of individuals repeating the same sequence of movements that were recorded at different times so they sort of laced their actions into a single clip. Anyone know it or know where I can find it?
hahaha paul daniels must have been skint to advertise yorkshire buses plus how many 85p bus tickets whould you need for that walkman ?? my guess is 1504.
You could go months without a single street stabbing back then. How impoverished we were without such exciting vibrancy. Acid was a recreational hallucinogen rather than a popular assault weapon. Kids these days don't know how lucky they are.
@@GryphLane Inclusion is fine, deliberate over-representation is something else. I think adverts kept improving until the early 2000s, but nowadays they have to have 50 people on every advert so that every type of person is represented, and political correctness rules. Ewww🤢🤢 Campbell's meat balls I remember those. And they were and probably still are disscusting 🤮🤮 there could have been any type of meat in them most probably horse meat lol
Yeah it was pretty horrible! I remember the adverts with the very aggressive voice-overs and weird visuals. Sometimes they would scrape a knife over the margarine and an image would appear!
Far too many ads on this channel, I'm writing to the IBA to complain about the lack of programmes on 'ere! 😉 Ahhh.....the IBA & ITV, something else that "The Milk Snatcher" f**ked over.
Finally found an old ad I remember from when I was very little in this collection, thanks for uploading - even if the years vary a bit!
Bloody hell, still have the game 'Knock Your Block Off'! Remember getting that at Christmas 1988. Great to go down memory lane!
I remember some of these ads as I was born in 1976… Definetley better days back then.
Same here. Amazing how many I do remember.
23:33 - I’d actually listen to this track, ad jingles back in the 80’s were some of the best!
I just spend the last 3 hrs watching these old adverts...must ..stop....NOW!
God, I remember so many of these. Thanks for the blast from the past.
Nice to see ads with no bullshit propaganda.
Pls bring back some tv what we used to watch on a sat night in 1980s
John shrapnel and joss Ackland have the best voices for voice-overs ever , takes you back to the 80s when I hear their voices.
The funny thing is when they read the phone number on the British gas ad, i recognised it as though I was back in 1985.
Those were the days

Me. Installs ad block

23 quid for that block game in 85 madness
Mr Dog. What imaginative geniuses came up with that name for a dog food. They must’ve been up all night.
Even so, today they'd have been forced to call it "Gender Netutral Mammal"
"Try Mr. Dog for small yapper-type dogs, and maybe they'll shut the f___ up." ---Eddie Izzard
Probably why they changed the name to Cesar later!

I was working shifts throughout the 70/80's with lots of overtime so I missed a lot of TV..

Not at all...i was born outside the UK and I've watched these compilations multiple times.
Whens the film come back on?????????...bloody adverts
Some of these ads showing the beginning of the end,....the end of reliable public transport, a publicly owned post office (Royal Mail) & selling off our energy services to overcharge us for them and get less of a service.

I was 6 and would have been glued to the TV in 85
The Whisk advert special effects are pretty impressive for the 80s. That must have cost a bomb to make.
Christopher Ryan (Mike in the young ones) voice over for autumn gold who else spotted it
At 20mins lovely to see Arthur Daley (George Cole) once more.
Excellent fav year thanku👍👍👍❤
Walker's Bitza Pizza, used to love them as a kid!
Remember puking after trying just one Bitza Pizza. Never tried them again afterwards. Can still remember that awful taste...
They were very nutricious, especially when eaten with food.
0:03 fun fact. They had to scrap the giant chewing gum prop as it crushed an actor during the creation of the next ad.
Crushed and killed? :o
01:59 - Voiceover by Hugh Laurie, sounding just like his Prince George character from "Blackadder III".
05:45 - Voiceover by Burt Kwouk.
Lol Kellie Bright before she started collecting spoons . . She can knock my block off anytime !
Lol, we gave Campbell’s Meatballs to the dog! I’d totally forgotten about them!
Nice collection .....however if this is from 1985 how come it featured an ad for the sticker album called "Soccer 88".....?!!!
