The Yggdrasil once believe that he can lead the elves through the dark times but he fear his mother the sea elven/people, his mother is unique different than any sea elves. With her power she put fear in her son heart thus making him twisted soul. That what make him a fool he make the worst mistake, but there is a good side from this massacre that the elves died while the light still bright, but the elves will never be strong
