HOLLLLYYYYYY Shredster..@^@ Awesome video..!! Thanks.! It's great to see Holdsworth show his super skills.! I was lucky to see him, Gong and Soft Machine back in the 70's....
Hey, hey I was in the front row and gave him a bottle of Stella after he had played this song! Allan said "its Belgian isnt it? I hope it works!" Best gig I have been to - absolute genius!
wow....thanx for posting this...saw allan a few years back in seattle....very cool, sociable cat...i drew a picture of him and the band...billy childs was on keys...gary on bass...and chad was kiliing it....great band....they signed my drawing, too...
I was at the gig and he really was nervous! He can produce this, even when his hands were shaking! Doesn't the first chord just make you feel great? What a sound.
Fantastic music, it's got it all. What sets AH apart isn't just the amazing melodic improvisation technique, it's his ability to develop unique chordal harmonies and progressions. They're rich with detail and structure, giving him a giant pallete of melodic choices for his solos. So many "guitar gods" of today solo over pedal tones or i-IV-V or other simple progressions. Most would be totally lost having to keep up with the changes in any typical AH song - except Greg Howe (Proto-Cosmos)!

THe best drummers are those with jazz background. And oh yeah, AH is playing!
Dear Mr. Eric Johnson, I will get back with you after I am done worshiping Mr. Allan Holdsworth. Nothing personal. We still love you.
Me too - same gig! Cheers!
Man I love the drum solos on Fred.
so much fun!!!
el mejor por mucho!!!
Yeah!
Notice on 5:53 the drum stick falling off and song continues like nothing has happened!
Holy shit!
@1959child Because image is all that counts, right?
name of song and album?
Man, Chad's china is killer!
Scott Henderson and Frank Gambale can hang with Allan way more musically than Howe. But he is very fast and talented.
Fred.
