It's clear this was a favorite of Michael's. He performs this with a passion and intensity that makes one feel he's channeling the story he's telling. And your reaction reflects Michael's energy. Truly a joy to watch both of you.
Thats firee the guitarrist damnnnn🔥🔥🔥🔥 bro I don't think people realize how much it takes to do what he did, Seph it's said that all the dancing and jumping was so physically draining he lost between 8 to 10 pounds after each concert, and he didn't eat or sleep enough, it got to the point where he got dizzy and almost passed out during a show because of physical exhaustion (all while having lupus I might add) and still he didn't stop because he didn't want to let the fans down like imagine doing that for months on end ??? 123 shows?? No wonder he said he hated touring, honestly I don't know how he was able to pull that off, I know no artist today with THAT amount of dedication and that is why he is the greatest to ever do it!! 💯 King!! 👑
Lol if we all hyped just watching imagine actually being there!! Now I know why people passed out lmao the energy must have been crazyyy!! 🔥🔥🔥 lucky people!!
Definitely is being played in a lower key. MJ was almost halfway through the tour at this point, dozens more shows to go. If you watch NYC performance, it was in a higher key and he likely lowered the key to preserve his voice/make it easier to sing and maintain. This key is much closer to his natural range (the 4th octave). He was always stretching the limits of his voice for the recordings. But I love the more gritty approach to his voice in general. MJ’s rasp was special, much in a way that David Ruffin’s was. This is among his most legendary performances, made all the more special by Princess Diana herself having specially requested he keep this song in the show (against the wishes of Prince Charles at that)
Love this version of the song. As you know, Princess Diana was in the audience in this concert and before starting it, she told Michael that this is her favourite song so they managed to re-insert in the routine (Michael initially took it out the show out of respect for her). And by the way, did you notice his jacket and the knee pads he put on his knees? The jacket is very similar if not the same as the one he wore in the music video. Cant wait for the next reaction, love your videos Seph🔥
I loved the rocker MJ put out in this song! It was so amazing I would have screamed myself until being hoarse. The toe stand on bent knees in ballet terms is basically a plie’ on pointe. Anything on pointe is so hard and I’m also amazed how he did that. I agree that this was better than the album.
1) It’s sung in a lower Key down cause MJ singing “Dirty Diana” in its original key was impossible on the BAD World Tour simply cause where it was placed on the setlist 2) MJ had Lupus which henders the lung capacity 3)MJ was singing in Staccato which is why lines were shortened kinda like when he does “Smooth Criminal”✍🏽👑✨🎯💯(I love this performance tho MJ would’ve performed this even better on the This Is It Tour tho cause by that time he would’ve have lots of vocal rest)
@@tim3970Yes in this particular Live performance he does staccato he shortened the phrases/words etc. and sped it up in a sense also he did it in Smooth Criminal for instance with staccato
Michael Jackson was a natural rock artist as well as a dancer, pop artist, soul and disco artist. He could do anything. Living in the 1980s and we didn't know how lucky we were. Actually so much was going on in the world. Soviet occupation of Europe, Soviet war in Afghanistan, Iran Iraq War, Gadaffi Libya, IRA IVF troubles, in fact you need to react to Genesis Land of Confusion from 1986. Spitting Image dummys of Ron Reagan, Thatcher and many more. Even MJ and Madonna. Yes it's an anti nuclear war song as well.
yet another thing u really pay attention too is the lyrics. I appreciate this so much. Ppl these days do no longer listen carefully and an artist sat down or a song writer trying to bring something across...for what if ppl only listen to not listen. Bless your care for detail. BTW really interesting choice of background being unaware yet what kind of setting will be waiting for you a little later down the line. The floor the chandelier, the fire place....very very interesting ;-)
Love the reaction Seph. About the song sounding different he actually sang it in a different key to the original studio version. If you in your spare time look at Dirty Diana live from New York 1988 you will see that the key is higher as it was much earlier in the tour. Can’t wait for more bad tour reactions 😀
This is such a great concert!! Can't wait for you to react to some of his interviews or videos etc (altough some questions were stupid and some interviwers were kinda rude to him 😢 ) even then he remained kind and polite, he was a lovely man 😊 but there are some great ones!
Nice reaction Seph ☺ You should do a serie reactions of Earth, Wind and Fire, starting with their albums, and then with live performances. They sound fantastic live and studio, never dissapoint. I'm really sure you'll love In Concert: Live at the Oakland Coliseum (1981). Regards from Mexico
Seph please do more than 1 video why only 1 Michael video each time 😢 ... He performed this song after princess diana convinced him to do it he was refusing .. dirty diana is such a hard song to sing it needs a huge breath control many tried to sing it and they fail Michael done that alongside dancing i always wondered how he can do that 😍
Nice reaction seph 🌹🌹🌹🌹 My top storytelling song ever 🥰🥰 Your ear is musical seph , yeah the tone is different from the original version and also the performance of the song itself and that's the good thing about singing live of course🔥🔥... By the way i forgot to tell u a small detail in the original music video of this song : As i told u before Michael wrote this song about Diana Ross because he loved her for yeaaaars and some stories said that he proposed twice and she agreed on both and promised him many times to marry him but suddenly she left him and u can say that he wasn't prepared for that so he wrote this song and it tells you a story of a gropies and even in interviews he said that to mask the real story but she knew that it was about her and didn't talk to him for weeks 😊😊 If u rewatch the music video, u notice the last shot of the song when all the audience was lighting candles 🔥and this scene is related to diana as well because one old friend told him ' when you light a candle in front of photo of your lover prevent her from leaving you' so he did and that was the background story of this scene ..... even in his home he had a room dedicated to her filled with her photos with candles lid 24/7 🌹🌹🌹🌹 Tell me what u think seph?? Can't wait for your next reaction 🤍
He never said it was about her ?? He always said it was about crazy girls who tried everything to sleep with him and stuff and him being Michael Jackson I'm sure he had to deal with MANY of those so the name "Diana" is a representation for all of them, even on his private phone call he talks about a woman he was with who he loved (not Diana by the way) who cheated on him and how hard it was for him to have a real relationship because they just wanted stuff from him and not him for him, he has many songs with that same theme, Who Is It, Chicago (don't tell me you think all of them is about Diana also?? He had many women in his life), I mean just because it's that name it doesn't mean anything and Diana Ross never wanted him because of the age difference and maybe she just wasn't interested in him like that, like he was literally a little boy and she was already a grown woman when they met so there was never anything between them as far as I know, if there was it was only in his own head 🤷♀️
@@luana45393 i know 🌹🌹 of course he never said it was about her but this is the story of a lot of his friends and by releasing the song 1 year or 2 after she was married and the name of it as well tells u something and also Michael said in his book that when he heard of her marriage he was unhappy and jealous 💔.. actually the candle thing( and because i saw pictures of that room).. what made me believe that story 🌷 The people around him say also that the song included more details but he deleted it as it would be so obvious... It also happened launa with too many songs and he never said that they were about her as well like Liberian girl and remember the time and so many other songs 🌹🌹
Seph, some time ago I asked you if you rewatch the music videos on your own sometimes after doing the reactions, but do you also rewatch the live performances?
It's pretty hard for me to be fair to actually sit down and watch things, My time is eaten up by editing, comment replying and recording. So in my limited down time i will more then likely listen to songs more then a watch them if i have a choice haha

No wonder he was able to maintain such a slim figure. That’s a lot of sweat to lose. He certainly gave the audience their money’s worth!!
@@jlcmsw frr this man gave his heart and soul on every concert!! I admire him so much!! 💯
The fact Princess Diana and King Charles was in the crowd watching him perform Dirty Diana at Wembley is iconic 😂

I LOVE rock MJ. If you LOVE rock MJ, you're in for a treat with future albums. Nobody rocks out like Michael Jackson does.

It's just extraordinary! How can a man do that?! It's just an Extra terrestrial... the King, the most extraordinary, THE GOAST....
Even when clearly tired MJ gave the best he had🔥A great reaction as always!

Watching you dance beside Michael and the joy that you have warms my heart. Mike would have loved your reaction I believe. Fantastic video!

I never knew he put this song back in this particular Wembley show for Princess Diana. That’s quite cool! Such an awesome performance!

What do you mean? Yes he would play around with the rhythm and the speed of his words, but staccato?
@@tim3970Yes in this particular Live performance he does staccato he shortened the phrases/words etc. and sped it up in a sense also he did it in Smooth Criminal for instance with staccato
@@Milkers777 Well, he was always percussive with his voice, but staccato means short and pointy. I don't think it is the right term to use here.

Michael also played a bit with the length of the words: for example instead of saying "she trapped me in her heart", he said "shetrapmeinajart-eh".
