I enjoyed this, I appreciate the work he does judging the many portrait artists in England and Scotland . An yet I really did not know his work nor his background. Thanks.
I too wanted to know more about this man; this talented painter. Over the episodes and series we've seen him relax and his sense of humour come to the fore. Superbly intelligent.
Yeah my selfies are like stamps in time, the environment is captured but also me the person experiencing it. I remember who I was in that day not only where I was.
Plus, the screen of our cellphones are reflective. Even when we are watching a flick or busy at social media (which are shown to us behind the screen), we are constantly seeing a mirror-reflection of our faces on the screen's surface --- whether we are conscious of it or not. That's MY idea, anyway - to explain our selfie-obsession.
if you can sell an empty piece of paper as a masterpiece - how much easier is it when something is on it? It's all about the words, it is no longer about the crafts.
James 1:23-25 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Very interesting art and arttalk about portrait and selfportrait. And I liked the concept “emotional truth” and the ways it was shown - and the great question “the reason you have to paint” and the quest “to push bounderies” -
its a great video , thank u for sharing ur views about selfie and self portrait becs i am also a painter and i paint self portraits as well . i did almost 40 self portraits yet now because of diff reasons , model is not available becs i live in that country .
Why is his audio pushed mono into the right channel? This is so distracting and takes so much away from the video. Makes it uncomfortable to listen to.
Why do you painting famous people?? You sailing for living using others?? What you think about society and surviving? And what about humanity?? Are you happy with humanity? Colors and lines i`ts enough for you. Do you have food? hypocrisy

Mr. Shierenberg is quite pompous. I am underwhelmed by him, and therefore his art.

I am so glad I took painting lessons with Tai at the Art Academy in London. He is amazing artist, very witty and a great teacher too.
I bloody loved this little vid thank you. I Love tai and great Brief insight into his views on selfies / art cheers
I agree about the selfies! If my face is the most interesting thing I see in a day, i need to look farther.

An actual "talent". Much appreciated.
He is one interesting cat.
The "selfie-faces" kill me
The audio suddenly became too loud and overpowering about halfway through, otherwise very good stuff
The music plays but unable to hear the artist speaking😫
Perfect.
Interesting subject
Really liked the background music coming into the foreground. Anyone know the track name?
Purgatory - Jamaal Meeks
