I would like to imagine that such a feat would require numerous governmental approvals but I will admit that it could be unlikely and they would not have to meet any additional qualifications. I mean a Taco Bell and a Walmart? The combination would be truly tragic.
Love it how every time he does a bubble-gum crises video people's memories reset and think the intro is completely new. I mean, it's still exceptionally impressive.
Duncan Scott its not nu-metal, its some 80s metal band. Although if anything shitty 80s metal is way more outdated then a shitty nu-metal band. i do love the new opening though
Or think they're stupid, she wasn't even surprised that Frederick in episode 1 of _Crisis_ was a Boomer, just pissed off that her employer had lied to her about it.
Not just chinpoko and BJ, Sage, but also "Ah! Ah!" and "Iku! Iku!" ("I'm coming!"). Extra merit goes to "T. Yakisoba" for scoring higher than the really juvenile stuff ^_^
As far as i know, there were ALWAYS work-boomers, even in the ad police prequel, sometimes they could go rogue. what happened in bubblegum crash was illegal tests of "battle-type" boomers, they're all specifically combat boomers and genom even sometimes had a test run in the city to see how they perform against a taskforce thats made to stop boomers in the first place. in bubblegum crisis itself it was mentioned that boomers are actually the pillar of reconstruction after a giant earthquake that led to the name even, these workforce robots literally "boomed" in sales and popularity.
going back on the whole monitors in the sauna, that thing kinda exists. Having been to Japan last year I went to a bath house in Takiyama which had a sauna with a TV behind a glass case so moisture could short curtuit, meaning you can sit in a 50 degree room and watch whatever dating show was on at the time. it's not as silly as it looks (despite the lack of stratigic meetings held in them)
Now you have me hyped for your 2040 review. I saw that series as an 11 year old and fell in love with it. I was shocked to find it wasn't even the first Bubblegum Crisis or that the characters were vastly different in design to their original counterparts. And now to wait x amount of months until I know your opinion. Sigh.
I watched it first as well because it was a completed narrative whereas the original was not. Having viewed it, I'd say it was a good show, but it could stand to be condensed. A good chunk in the beginning and middles of the show feels like it's being stretched out to its 26 episodes. The whole thing could stand to be OVA length, in my honest opinion just to make it tighter and more focused.
Team Sage is the bomb y'all. Bubblegum Crisis is a very good anime series. The Women characters are done very very well. they are strong female characters with a lot of personality and depth to their character. the people in that series felt real to me. the story is excellent. I love how the women each have their own strengths and how they overcome their weaknesses. (The male good guy characters too) I love the different powers that their Mecca suits give them. I can go on forever on how much I love that particular anime series and Sage and the fans of Sage but I'll just stop here..
Its only after rewatching this review after several years, that i have realised we had a separate English dub here in the UK. Most notable difference so far is Daley found a fork in his hamburger, instead of a spoon in his hotdog.
Exclusively you mean? Other UA-camrs have covered older titles. BobSamurai for example has covered; Wings of Honneamise, Blazing Transfer Student, Violence jack, Ninja Scrolls, Sword for Truth, Genocyber, Rose of Versailles and a bunch of really weird Hentai.
Salokin Sekwah That's a bit mean-spirited. Besides, he wasn't depicted running a marathon. Heavy people can be dangerously fast over short distances. Now, that jump on the other hand…
Bubblegum Crisis is definitely in my top 10 favorite anime mini series along with Outlaw Star and Trigun! I know that you have a strong love for Cowboy Bebop ...which just shows you have always had very great taste..
In the BGC world....no. Hardcore mecha-mercs like them would do well. Unless of course their client refuses to pay for an extraction and leaves them stranded.
6:18 funnily enough there's a Japanese milk/soda drink called Calpis. It tastes pretty good, but, as you can imagine, my family are pretty skeptical about it due to the name.
Wlep, it doubles as a Jojo's reference then as well. Part 4 of Jojo's was originally translated as "diamond is not crash," now translated properly to "diamond is unbreakable." It was a beautiful duwang.
And I'll never forget one of your early episodes you actually talked about Golden Boy. holy mackerel I can't believe you actually made an episode about Golden Boy! Lol.... That's "AWESOME" ( sounding like The Miz)
14:15 To answer your implicit question, as the world was in 1986, it was colloquially called "body putty". I'm not sure what morticians called the compound they use to fill in gunshot wounds.
Spoon goes in the bun, sage. That reminds me, I once got a Subway sandwhich with a knife in it. That's not a joke, it just reminded me of that. Nearly chipped a tooth. Jerks didn't even offer me a coupon or a refund for it.
I think more businesses could benefit from a Situation Sauna 12:05 Oh Dave... I MEAN BENNETT... nailed it! If you also take the Boomer Brains line out of context & know about Zone-sama, it can cause fits of laughter
A friend of mine used to have a joke about AD police recruitment "Join the AD Police today! Remember, 50% of officers survive their first response call, and that's pretty good odds."
I LOVE the opening...that's so cool!! :) and what a coincidence...I too recently had a hotdog that had a spoon in it...I'm still not sure how that's possible, but alas, truth is stranger than fiction :)
10:29 Oh these two aren't the only ones, "Ah! Ah!" and "Iku! Iku!" are essentially the Japanese equivalent of dirty talk. ... Don't ask how I know that.
You know very well that Walmart would add a shooting range, a mini golf course and a Taco Bell if they could get around the zoning laws, Bennett.
zoning laws?
I would like to imagine that such a feat would require numerous governmental approvals but I will admit that it could be unlikely and they would not have to meet any additional qualifications.
I mean a Taco Bell and a Walmart? The combination would be truly tragic.
@@RenjiMaili A Taco Bell next to a store that sells toilet paper. Name a better combo.
@@RenjiMaili Don't Walmart's already have either Starbucks or McDonald's in them?
@@louisduarte8763 In larger cities, yes. In most I've lived in you're lucky if they can tell you what lab top they're currently trying to sell you.
Love it how every time he does a bubble-gum crises video people's memories reset and think the intro is completely new.
I mean, it's still exceptionally impressive.
I really wish that it was the main intro for the show.
Love the Toonami Vibe the opening gives.
I thought Toonami Month was starting early.
GritimoTheOdd Sage also needs to make a new regular opening sequence too. The current one is already 3-4 years old.
You can tell it's old by the use of that shitty Nu-Metal song in the background
I'm not the only one hearing the weird background noise throughout the episode am I?
Duncan Scott its not nu-metal, its some 80s metal band. Although if anything shitty 80s metal is way more outdated then a shitty nu-metal band. i do love the new opening though
The idea that Priss would hate boomers makes absolutely no sense in light of episodes 5 and 6 of Crisis.
Or think they're stupid, she wasn't even surprised that Frederick in episode 1 of _Crisis_ was a Boomer, just pissed off that her employer had lied to her about it.
After the whole "OK boomer" epopee these dialogues sound 100 times better
“i know zone. They make Boomer brains”
Omg, I hadn't even thought about this as I've been rewatching the show!
OK zoomer
Ok boomer episode?
Not just chinpoko and BJ, Sage, but also "Ah! Ah!" and "Iku! Iku!" ("I'm coming!").

I saw 2040 way before I'd even heard of the original, and I was hooked. There's just something about that high heeled armor
I watched it first as well because it was a completed narrative whereas the original was not. Having viewed it, I'd say it was a good show, but it could stand to be condensed. Vash Starwind Same. That was the first time I realized you can be into super girly things, and still be a strong woman.
That will be very interesting to cover, a lot of people I've heard talk about that entry, don't seem to like it very much, I wonder where Ben stands.
Its only after rewatching this review after several years, that i have realised we had a separate English dub here in the UK.
Most notable difference so far is Daley found a fork in his hamburger, instead of a spoon in his hotdog.
"I recently ate a hot dog with a spoon in it!" Was that before or after eating the mushrooms?
why not both?
Bennett is prolly the only person that does old ass anime
Think you'll need Suave for old ass anime. Bennett does old-ass anime
Your Bubblegum videos are unintentionally funnier ever since boomers became a meme.
Sage running? Now I know this show is unrealistic
Only if it ends with him clutching his heart and falling over
Salokin Sekwah
That's a bit mean-spirited. Besides, he wasn't depicted running a marathon. Heavy people can be dangerously fast over short distances.
Now, that jump on the other hand…
It's not him, it's a stunt double.
HA! That's funny! Cause he's fat. Yeah. I get it. Funny. Fat jokes.
Could be worse, could be a fart joke.
Los Lobos kick your ass!
Los Lobos kick your face!
Los Lobos kick your balls
Into outer Space!
I thought it was Los Locos, ie crazy.
I also thought it was Los Locos... MANDELA EFFECT! MANDELA EFFECT!
Great comment here. Ha ha.
Okay, when you said "situation sauna" I didn't expect that you were being COMPLETELY LITERAL.
"Oh Shocker of Shocks, it's Largo. Oh God Oh Man, Oh God Oh Man, Oh God Oh Man."
NICE NEW INTRO, DUDE!!! Utterly befitting of you.
Legit lost my shit at the Dental Plan but, god damnit you two
That and the Spoony/Captain America reference had my choking on my coffee
That reference just made me sad,cus it reminded me the time when Spoony made videos :(
That's a fantastic intro! I miss the funny smirk he makes in the intro before, but that's just a minor gripe. Still very well done!
NIIIIICE NEW INTRO!!!
Applewar intro has been used a few times before now.
13:27 A Boomer named Adama.... Wait, a "Boomer" named A.D.A.M.A...and you DON'T make a Battlestar Galactica reference?!
Bubblegum Crisis is definitely in my top 10 favorite anime mini series along with Outlaw Star and Trigun! I know that you have a strong love for Cowboy Bebop ...which just shows you have always had very great taste..
"Dental plan!" - Lenny
God damn that was well placed. 😂
ah watching this now feels like this anime had future sight
so first A glorious return of ZTV and now AA doing a review of Bubblegum Crash. Man the tentacles are strong in this week. All glory to ten-ta-cles
"Quick, to the Situation Suana!" PFFFFT. Sage, you so funny :P
Super dope new intro. Loving CG Sage
YUSSS, New upload and it's more Bubblegum! It must be my birfday!
6:34 he means a hot dog sandwich with a spoon between the sausage and the breed, it's possible.
Or a real wiener rather than the cheap factory dogs.
Captain Slow
Or a little teaspoon.
or maybe the spoon was there instead of the wiener
all works guys,
guess Sage wasn't focused when shooting and just needed a joke
The mercenary outfit known as, "The illegal army."..... Do you think they hurt themselves coming up with that name?
In the BGC world....no. Hardcore mecha-mercs like them would do well. Unless of course their client refuses to pay for an extraction and leaves them stranded.
Aah, only Sage spoils us anymore with Max Headroom references.
Thank you Sage, I needed my fix.
wow sage. love the new opening. great work guys. over of the best channels ever on UA-cam.
Ashton Evans it's not new he uses it for the bubblegum crisis revuews
Oh thanks. Didn't remember it but man it is a killer opening.
Oh boy, more Ghost in the Shell. Also, when will Zone-tan get a full cameo, Bennet?
When she's done covering up the leak of her sex tape.
+jurfrokstar Which one? There's like 20 of 'em at this point.
Holy crap, ... I love the new opening Sage!!!!You and your team NEVER CEASE TO Amaze Me!!
Not only did we get this review, but a tease for 2040 and a reveal that you'll be covering Solid State Society next week?! You spoil us Bennett 😎.
Yaaaas!! Can't wait to see Tokyo 2040. I love Tokyo 2040. I think I'm gonna rewatch it, actually :3
Omg I lost it on the Dental Plan part! XD
When you're a SImpsons fan, you know when you got that!! xDD
The hotdog part was amazing.
a sage upload!? now i can start my day right!
I was so disappointed when you didn't mention that Loki guy looks like Guile, then thrilled when you finally did! Btw he looks like Vegeta too!
9:53
Why is the computer displaying the lyrics to... Scarborough Fair of all things?
At first I wondered how the word world would be hard to pronounce, but then I remembered DIO yelling "Za Warudo!"
Love the new opening Sage :D
6:18 funnily enough there's a Japanese milk/soda drink called Calpis.
It tastes pretty good, but, as you can imagine, my family are pretty skeptical about it due to the name.
21:48 - Looks like it's about Tetsu o'clock to me.
man i hate Tetsu o'clock its the worst, all tentaclely and bulbous
You're Spoony reference made me very happy, and then very very sad. So I will need a lot more hemp before you are through
As as as I am to mention this, but there is also "Ah! Ah!" on the leaderboard as well as "IKU! IKU!" which are..highly sexual in nature. :D
Anime MC Hammer? The end is truly neigh.
Still a better use of MC Hammer than Hammerman.
CWDTrixie Yeah
This intro is freaking rad! aaa, It works very well with the song!
I was hoping you'd mention the animation and voice acting seemed to come down a few notches in quality from "crisis".
FYI, morticians can do rather impressive things with makeup to ensure an open casket funeral. I speak from experience.
My little crisis: bubblegum is magic
It is impossible not to bob your head to the end track XD
Oh, you sneaky beaky Sage. I caught that reference to the 1979 Captain America movie.
Bubblegum is not Crash?
Damn, beat me to it
Leomagus I know I'm feeling the Mode
Young Justice? Is this not a Jojo reference?
Josh Silver it is in fact. a young justice reference. yes. lol.
Wlep, it doubles as a Jojo's reference then as well. Part 4 of Jojo's was originally translated as "diamond is not crash," now translated properly to "diamond is unbreakable." It was a beautiful duwang.
14:15 Bennett knows as much about what's good in anime as much he knows about Funeral directing
Holy shit. I somehow missed this upload and never watched this episode! Neat lol
Love the new intro.
AWESOME INTRO SAGE!!!!! :D
Love your work, Bennett!
And I'll never forget one of your early episodes you actually talked about Golden Boy. holy mackerel I can't believe you actually made an episode about Golden Boy! Lol.... That's "AWESOME" ( sounding like The Miz)
slick new intro. first few seconds, I thought I got a new ps2 game.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Bubblegum Crisis!
Nice new intro, I love it!
loving the new intro! So cool!!!
Can't complain about a new and fresh intro animation, esp. 3D Sage (he's much thinner than reality, isn't he? :D)
10:37 But Sage, the creators knew that you secretly like to write that with K. Like Mortal Kombat or Krush, Kill 'n' Destroy.
One of the best intros ever.
bubblegum crash sounds like a kamen rider finisher
when they revert back to food
Best Intro Sage Love it
Awesome intro, Sage 😊
Your intro is epic. Please do a couple of that on your videos. Nice review. :)
14:15 To answer your implicit question, as the world was in 1986, it was colloquially called "body putty". I'm not sure what morticians called the compound they use to fill in gunshot wounds.
The hotdog spoon joke alone was worth the thumb's up.
Ah, of course the next one would be that. After all, we got a specific movie that's coming out in March.
for the love of God sage just keep that intro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's only gonna use it for Bubble Gum Crisis related videos.
+RandomBlackGamer OH... that's a shame it is a good way to actually make things look brand new, but understandable.
Great new intro!
I didn't think all Boomers were illegal in Crisis, just the combat models.
I legit just bought that GITS dvd yesterday. Looks like I need to watch it very soon.
Love the episode, though I'm still hoping for a second toonami or not quite an anime month.
Spoon goes in the bun, sage.
That reminds me, I once got a Subway sandwhich with a knife in it.
That's not a joke, it just reminded me of that. Nearly chipped a tooth. Jerks didn't even offer me a coupon or a refund for it.
1:44
"Oh my god, what's wrong with your faaaaaace?"
Outlaw Star! Three inches from your head! Outlaw Star!
Starships Troopers, dental plan... you always go for just the right references!
Ive seen everothyimg from this franchise, and is not like I loved it, but I liked enough, to keep watching
was gonna go to sleep from working all night but sage pulled me in
DUUUUDE! I ABOUT POOPED WITH LAUGHTER AT THE "DENTAL PLAN" PART!!!!!
6:24 I think there was a mistranslation, lol! "I recently ate a hot dog that had a CHOPSTICK in it"
21:53
Oh Man, Robo Madds Mickelson is sprouting his Death Stranding Tentacles to control the other robots.
>"came prepared"
>Norton
you'll only make him stronger
I think more businesses could benefit from a Situation Sauna
12:05 Oh Dave...
"Dental Plan!" actually made me laugh out loud.
I LOVE the opening...that's so cool!! :)
and what a coincidence...I too recently had a hotdog that had a spoon in it...I'm still not sure how that's possible, but alas, truth is stranger than fiction :)
It's highhhh noon, I mean Tetsuo'clock
I love the Major
Can't wait for the next review
"AH! AH!"
"IKU! IKU!"
:' D
10:29 Oh these two aren't the only ones, "Ah! Ah!" and "Iku! Iku!" are essentially the Japanese equivalent of dirty talk.
... Don't ask how I know that.
bubblegum crisis tokyo 2040 was THE SHIIIIT
