Well the opening intro is not so much based on the fact that it's set in the future. More so showing David and his impossible crusade against the corporate controlled cage of light, that is night city. David is dead before he even tries, the ending shot of the Opening shows the corporations sending a bullet straight through his head It's incredibly well made
I'm just saying, there's 10 episodes, the op lasts for 1:30, that's about 15 minutes of this. It's going to get old, especially after a big wtf moment, like when they killed Pilar.
FF is a criminally underrated band: all of their albums are great (it's hard to even pick a favourite one), they keep experimenting with their sound without ever getting boring, they're smart and seem like nice people, - why they aren't the best known British rockband today is beyond me. Been listening to them for the last 11 years and will keep doing so, anyway! Long live, the archbishops ;)

I'd call the Cyberpunk 2077/Edgerunners universe more retro-futuristic than futuristic. It's the future through the lens of the 80s, kind of like how Fallout is the future through the lens of the 60s.

If the series were today's science fiction, there would have been artificial intelligence robots all over in the series.

This video has some Russian words. 0:42 - I can't understand the first one, it makes no sense, honestly, it's an adjective, but the second one is 'pie', so I guess they probably meant something like 'puff pastry pie' 0:45 - beer and football (in Russian 'football' is used in the British sense as we don't usually play American football :) 0:49 - 'письмо' is a letter (the one that you put in an envelope). 'Гипно' - I think they missed the final letter and meant 'гипноз' - hypnosis. 0:58 - 'рыба и чипсы' - haha, this is 'fish and chips'. But unlike football, we use the word 'chips' the way Americans do 1:16 - here a lot of words make no sense, the last two are 'Sherlock Holmes' and 'football' 3:07 - 'рнеиотзил' - that makes no sense. Sounds a bit like some drug but I don't think it exists, the combination of letters is very unnatural. 3:16 - beer, again :)
Remember discovering this band back in the 2000's when a frined recommended them to me. I was still in grade/middle school. Still one of my favorite bands. Seeing them in EdgeRunners was so cool!

“This fire is out of control” can easily be linked to the extreme levels of chrome that he installs, linking the “fire” to mean both his aimless drive and his implants
“I’m out of control and I burn” may be the most obvious, David is out of control and soon cyberpsycho because of his “fire”, in the end all fires go out and David burned too bright too long
