Still looks like a great reading month. See you next week for Middle Grade Book Club. I need to get reading Simon now that I have report cards done. Have a great weekend!
Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time favorite series.❤ After I read it for the first time as a kid, it absolutely made me obsessed with PEI. I’ve still never visited, but hopefully someday.
I think I’d like Olivetti. 😊 A History of Wild Places sounds cool. I think Keeping Lucy would break my heart. Even though you ended up with 3 DNFs, nice wrap up. 😊
I just added Keeping Lucy as my next read....well hopefully it will still be available as soon as I finish my current book. Thanks for all you great reviews....i usually add at least one book to my very very long list of want to read books...lol.
Hi Krista! Putting Keeping Lucy and Divine Rivals on my tbr. Sorry I just dropped off your sprints the other night. I fell asleep reading (oops-lol). It was a busy weekend, and guess it caught up with me. Have a great week!
I'm so glad to hear that And So I Roar was a big hit for you. I'm excited to get to it and hope I like it just as much! I may listen to the audio of Girl With the Louding Voice to remind myself of more details of the story - it's been so long since I read it!
I bought Keeping Lucy some yrs. ago. Haven't read it yet😐 Glad you gave it a good review. I get so busy w/ reading things or types of bks. U-TUBE tubers recommend for the month; so that I have put aside lots of good bks. I bought and haven't read yet. I think it took place in Boston? I read Divine Rivals this past month on your recommendation, liked it very much. Was my first fantasy! Thanks Krista🤗
Woo hoo! Words of Radiance! Boots! Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do. Just an FYI- the amount of POVs increases exponentially in Rhythm of War. I hear there is 400+POVs...If I can read Dawnshard this month, I will be starting RoW in December
I really enjoyed this video. So glad you reviewed what you read and what you didn't read yet, and the ones you dnf. I don't know if you've done this in the past, but it's the first time I've seen this format. Thanks so much.
Put Keeping Lucy on my library list! Good to know about ....Bonaventure Circus. Our tastes seem somewhat similar so it will go down in priority a bit for me.
🍁🍂🍁. Sounds like overall, you had some great reads❤. I need to read Girl with the Loudning Voice. We did it in book club but for some reason I had to miss that one. Both that one and sequel sound so good and perfect reads for you!!
DNF is my mantra this winter, though recently I’ve picked some great books so haven’t had to. I loved Words of Radiance - the first two books of the Stormlight Archive are just amazing. I need to try some Abi Dare! My favourite reads of the month were probably Keedie, The Highgate Cemetery Murder and Temple of Fortuna 🍁
I think DNFing is something that gets easier with practice. It is great when we pick well, but every now and then a book just isn't right. I hope you do pick up Abi Dare, but try to get the audio. They're fantastic.
I agree with you completely on Jaime Jo Wright's book. This is the first book I ever read by her. Now I'm thinking do I want to read other books by her. I thought it sounded good, but I was disappointed.
You did a great job in October. I think there are better Riley Sager books. I like The House Across the Lake and The Only One Left. I read 8 in October myself.....I think. Haha😅
I think I’m a combination of Amy and Jo. I would totally burn Jo’s book for not taking me with her. And if I were the one whose book had been burned, I’d also never forgive Amy! So I identify with both.
🍁I tried two different Jamie Jo Wright stories and DNF’d both of them. I voted for her book in your Readathon and I felt guilty when I couldn’t even get interested in it. I just put Divine Rivals on hold thru Libby. There are 24 people in front of me. Thank you for the recommendations. I had 5 5-star books in October and 4 DNF’s. The rest were 4 stars. What a rollercoaster of a reading month!
Read an awesome historical fiction called The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. Learned a lot about WWII on Guernsey Island. I laughed, cried and gave it 5 stars.
Keeping Lucy sounds interesting but it's not available at my library :( And So I Roar was incredible, I think I liked it better than the first book. And it's not historical, they take place in the 2010s!!! Just finished Divine Rivals, and it was ok but I think not really for me. I loved the typewriter concept, and it was a decent story but I don't think I'll read the next one. I really just think YA is not for me.
Yeah, typically YA isn't for me either, but every once in a while I find one I really like. Bummer Keeping Lucy isn't at your library. Can you request they get it?
I wonder if there's a way for you to request for your library to get Keeping Lucy? It's a good one. I am so glad I read And So I Roar. I don't think I liked it better, but it was so very good.
@BooksAndJams funny, I just checked again and it actually IS available, in physical book and audiobook. They must have gotten it in very recently, because I had checked when you first mentioned the book in a TBR video and they didn't have it then.
I know I have told you this before, but History of Wild Places is a 5 for me! Glad you liked it!
Yes! It was so good! Drew me right in. I guessed one of the twists before it was revealed, but still enjoyed the read a lot.
I’m so glad you enjoyed A History of Wild Places, I enjoyed it too. It was so atmospheric.
Yes! It was a perfect Fall read.
Still looks like a great reading month. See you next week for Middle Grade Book Club. I need to get reading Simon now that I have report cards done. Have a great weekend!
I am pretty pleased with how October went. A bit fewer than normal, but still had some good ones in the mix. I hope you love Simon!
Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time favorite series.❤ After I read it for the first time as a kid, it absolutely made me obsessed with PEI. I’ve still never visited, but hopefully someday.
I really enjoyed the update. 🍁
I'm so glad!
Hi Krista, Glad you loved Keeping Lucy, it was such a good story. I have read 13 books by T. Greenwood. She's always been one of my favorite authors.
I am excited to read more from her now that I've loved one! I have 3 on my shelves I think. Yay!
Thank you for the book reviews! 🍂🍁📚
Thank YOU for watching.
Keeping Lucy is great!!
I think I’d like Olivetti. 😊 A History of Wild Places sounds cool. I think Keeping Lucy would break my heart. Even though you ended up with 3 DNFs, nice wrap up. 😊
It was a smaller month than some have been, but some good ones in the mix. Finishing Words of Radiance was a big accomplishment!
So sorry to hear about The Haunting of Bonaventure Circus. Am glad to hear you enjoyed the Divine Rivals books.
Yeah, Bonaventure Circus was a disappointment for sure.
another great month reading!! loved catching up on all your videos. October has been a beautiful month -- much like September was. 😊🧡🍁🍂🍎🎃🫖
Thanks for watching!
I just added Keeping Lucy as my next read....well hopefully it will still be available as soon as I finish my current book. Thanks for all you great reviews....i usually add at least one book to my very very long list of want to read books...lol.
I am always happy to add to your tbr! haha. Hope you enjoy Keeping Lucy.
🍄🍁🍂🍁 Love the little updates from everyone at the end/start of the month! Thanks!
Same! Glad you enjoyed.
Hi Krista! Putting Keeping Lucy and Divine Rivals on my tbr. Sorry I just dropped off your sprints the other night. I fell asleep reading (oops-lol). It was a busy weekend, and guess it caught up with me. Have a great week!
Yay. Both are fantastic. I hope you love them!
So happy you enjoyed And So I Roar!!!!!
It was so fantastic!
🍁 wow you read a lot! I used to force myself to read the books I started, but I would definitely DNF a book now. 😊
I don't DNF often, but have no regrets with these three.
Thanks for the wrap up!
You're so welcome!
I'm so glad to hear that And So I Roar was a big hit for you. I'm excited to get to it and hope I like it just as much! I may listen to the audio of Girl With the Louding Voice to remind myself of more details of the story - it's been so long since I read it!
I hope you will love it too! Yeah, it took me a minute to get back to the story and there were a lot of things I had forgotten about the first one.
🍁I rarely commit . Love watching you!! Thanks for all you do!!
Aww thanks for commenting this time! I'm glad you're here.
Thanks for the video. I’m staying away from the circus book. 🍁🍂
Probably a good idea! haha
Good idea! :)

Yay for trying something out of your comfort zone with Divine Rivals. Glad it worked out and you loved it!
Woo hoo! Words of Radiance! Boots! Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do. Just an FYI- the amount of POVs increases exponentially in Rhythm of War. I hear there is 400+POVs...If I can read Dawnshard this month, I will be starting RoW in December
OH man 400 is insane! Yowza.
I really enjoyed this video. So glad you reviewed what you read and what you didn't read yet, and the ones you dnf. I don't know if you've done this in the past, but it's the first time I've seen this format. Thanks so much.
I don't think I've done it this way before. Glad you liked it.
🍁thank you I enjoy watching this
I'm glad. Thanks for watching.
So glad you enjoyed Keeping Lucy 😊
I can't wait to read more from her now!
Put Keeping Lucy on my library list! Good to know about ....Bonaventure Circus. Our tastes seem somewhat similar so it will go down in priority a bit for me.
Yeah, it's by far my least favorite JJW book I've read so far.
Hi Krista. I remember I started reading it but got busy with other books. So I will pick it back up.
I remember starting to read Keeping Lucy but I didn't finish it
That happens. It's worth the read though. I hope you make it back to it.
And I'm so glad you enjoyed Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows. I do agree that the first book is better, but Ruthless Vows still is a strong showing...
It's fun to finally get to some of these popular fantasies!
Have the purple chair book on my TBR - if I can ever get my hands on it 😆 - will be really interested to hear your thoughts 😊
I am determined to finish that one by the end of the year.
I'll probably read And So I Roar in the beginning of next year. I loved the first book.
Yes! I'm sorry I forgot about buddy reading it with you.
@BooksAndJams it's ok. 🥰
Thanks for your honest reviews! 🍁
Thank YOU for watching!
I enjoy The Book Mobile Cat series. I think I’m up to book 7 or 8. I also loved Olivetti.
Nice! I think I would like it more if I had any affinity for cats. haha.
Yeah for DNF's! I read Olivetti last month, too, and LOVED it!
It's hard for me to DNF, but maybe with practice I'll get better! haha
I've got no regrets for DNFing three in October. I already have one for Nov too! haha
🍁🍂🍁. Sounds like overall, you had some great reads❤. I need to read Girl with the Loudning Voice. We did it in book club but for some reason I had to miss that one. Both that one and sequel sound so good and perfect reads for you!!
Yes! I would recommend Girl With the Louding Voice...as long as you can get the audio because it's fantastic!
DNF is my mantra this winter, though recently I’ve picked some great books so haven’t had to. I loved Words of Radiance - the first two books of the Stormlight Archive are just amazing. @ thanks for the tip!
🍁 great reads!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Hey Krista Is there a stat on Goodreads that shows your most read authors ? I thought there was but I couldn't find it. thanks
I think there used to be, but I'm not sure if it's there anymore.
I read Keeping Lucy when it came out. I still think about it.
I can see that. It was such a good read.
I’m proud of you for following your own advice about DNFing! There are so many other books to waste time on books you’re not enjoying!
So true! I already DNFd one this month too! I'm on a roll! haha
Keeping Lucy like to read add to my pile!
I hope you like it if you get to it.
Hope you get to The Lost Ticket. I really enjoyed it!
I think I'll enjoy it too. My hold on Libby for the audiobook ran out. I'll have to request it again.
I agree with you completely on Jaime Jo Wright's book. This is the first book I ever read by her. Now I'm thinking do I want to read other books by her. I thought it sounded good, but I was disappointed.
This was definitely my least fave. I have really enjoyed some of her books.
You did a great job in October. I think there are better Riley Sager books. I like The House Across the Lake and The Only One Left. I read 8 in October myself.....I think. Haha😅
Thanks. I have read 3 Riley Sager now and am not sure he's for me overall. I just don't love thrillers usually.
Olivetti sounds like my type of middle grade 🤗👍🏻
I hope you will enjoy it!
Making Faces is on my current TBR. Hoping I get to it, but we shall see. 😂
If you do please let me know what you think of it! I don't think I've heard anyone talk about that one.
I think I’m a combination of Amy and Jo. I would totally burn Jo’s book for not taking me with her. And if I were the one whose book had been burned, I’d also never forgive Amy! So I identify with both.
🍁🍁🍂🍂
I dnfed 2 books so far this year- Escape from Mr.Lemoncello's library & Fangirl down by Tessa Bailey. I need to get better at dnfing 📚
I have a theory that the more you dnf the easier it gets. We'll see!
🍁I tried two different Jamie Jo Wright stories and DNF’d both of them. I voted for her book in your Readathon and I felt guilty when I couldn’t even get interested in it. What a rollercoaster of a reading month!
Oh man. What's the other one that you DNFd besides Bonaventure Circus? JJW just might not be for you.
@ The House on Foster Hill.
Read an awesome historical fiction called The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. Learned a lot about WWII on Guernsey Island. I laughed, cried and gave it 5 stars.
I love Guernsey! Such a great story. Glad you also loved it.
Krista keeps calling Grace, Anne 😂
I totally did! haha
Way to not hold back on the DNF’s! Something I am slowly getting better at.
I think it gets easier to DNF the more you do it. I have already DNFd one in Nov too!

I liked Meg and Jo from what I remember but I did also hate modern day Amy so don’t think I’ll read Beth and Amy.

🦃🦃🦃🍂🍂
I know it's hard to DNF.but if not for you not for you End of Story .No pun intended ha.Take care .
Haha. Love it!
🎃🍂🌻🍁
🤎🍁📚🍂
Yeah! That witch in the book was nothing like marilla and had no growth! I didn’t even like her as time went on!
Too many books and too little time - good for you for having 3 DNFs
For sure! I'm proud of my DNFs in October! haha.
