Best version i have come across. Others are too fast, too "young sounding" or their accent is difficult for me to understand....yours is perfect....captures HPL's tone of a scientist very GRADUALLY realizing what he is facing with all its horrific implications!
I'm happy you enjoyed it. I spent a lot of time getting the pace of the growing horror right, and I'm very glad that came across.
A reading read as if HP Lovecraft read it himself. Steve Parker has that gift. Some have it in acting like Laurence Oliver. Some have it in auto racing like Dale Earnhardt Sr. Mr Parker is "the" narrator of books of our time !!!!

Bro, how are you always aware of the next book I’m looking to get into before I know. Swear I subscribed like 6months ago after 1984 and looked through you library. Then I hear about Lovecraft, look into and I’ll be damn if my boy Steve aint already on it. Your work is legendary, animating imagination. Bravo!

I did find the writing too complex to really enjoy, perhaps one day there’ll be a more digestible version of this tale. And perhaps even a sequel where Chtulu is arisen for more than 10 minutes 😂

Just starting this audio book now, and I am not sure what I am getting myself into here. Never read lovecraft before, but I sort of know it's horror. Not sure about the style or anything, so it'll be very interesting.

@@SteveParkerAudiobooks Thanks, it was well read, like always, but it was very underwhelmingly written. This is just a very vague second hand experience of some unconfirmed events.
It's all hearsay and nothing actually happens, it's all events of the past recollected by the narrator.
Cthulu is big and ugly and powerful, and when he awakes something will happen. What exactly? No one knows.
The book is a little disappointing, after all the Cthulu hype out there. What do you think?

I have to say all the hype about how scary this book is, is overrated. It really wasn't that chilling or scary to me. But it's still a good book and Lovecraft is awesome regardless
