  • Early version of the song "Stalemate". Originally recorded for the 1996 "Blissard" album, it was then completely revisited, and published in a much more minimalist version in the 1997 album "Angels and Daemons at play". It is now available in the 2012 re-issue of Blissard (deluxe edition).

@@GOLDENCORE78 on the same 4CD Blissard box where this song is from. Cd2 of that box is incredible: a complete non released album recorded in 1994 with the first attempt at Stalemate. It's available at their store if you wanna get it legally :p

yep the definitive version is better imo too, but still this one has a lot of things to say, and as a musician its so nice to see how an original idea develops and develops... stricly speakink THE CONCEPT OF A DEFINITIVE VERSION HAS NO SENSE. i personally can see an impressive similarity between the enormous difference among the versions of this motorpsycho song and the versions of songs I compose: from the original 'intuition' starts the research of a (subjective) satisfying shape of the song... its an hard hard hard job who request calm, but more a will to reach this 'acceptable imperfection of a - temporarily final shape'.....

This kind of sounds like Pinkerton-era Weezer to me, yet it predates it.
