My Style 5's look about like yours do after doing the same process. They look good, better than not polished, but to get a mirror finish you have to sand all the machine marks out from the factory. I left mine like they are. LOL
Hey, may be a bit late, but I have had my rc090's like this clear coat removed, and the shine looks like it did the day I refinished for the most part. I know a lot of people have this problem but it isnt hard to keep a good finish... I recommend once every two weeks you clean the lips, dry them with a towel, and apply some sort of protectant. I have been doing this for about 4 years with some trial and error and this is the best method I have come across.
Good efficient results.....no mess, looks great. 👍

Hey, after the lip refinish, its necessary to put varnish ?
How did the hold up long term without the clear? I did this about 10 years ago on my e39 and keeping the shine was a nightmare.

@@slavicmansam3018 I ended up throwing on a few coats of clear just because im lazy.....
What compound did you use
It a ring !
How do I get the clear coat off?
Use jasco paint and epoxy thinner
Did you have to take the air out the tires?
No, I didn't take the air out of the tires. You can leave the air in the tires while doing this project. It won't do any harm.
