    What can I say “He is just the Best Photography Teacher I ever watched!” I have 0 knowledge in Photography, but his lessons are way more comprehensible he uses a lot of similarities to object surroundings so beginners like me would understand the Photography jargon in an easiest way like comparing the Aperture to an open window. I don’t really know what to consider and what camera suits me the most so, his entry level camera comparison are very helpful.
    Focus Stacking and Macro Photography is really advance for me but I had the grasp of it because he taught these in the previous video and I really enjoy watching it and become really interested on it. I will continue and look forward to the new videos he will create specially the Milky Way version. Thank you very much for your hard work Mr. Amri, surely I will continue to support you in the future.

    Your #1 is understandable. Sometimes my favorite images aren't very exciting, but knowing the work that went into them makes them personally special.
    I'd love to be shooting for a firm like you've done. Seems hard, but rewarding!
    My 2023 goals are to finally find a focus. Been bouncing between videography/photography/design/editing and I'd rather just focus and master one so to start making consistent salary and not stretch my attention so thin.
    Love your videos, Wolf. Always a treat to see one pop up. Less than a year ago I asked you for advice on my first shoot. Now I've done dozens and my first wedding shoot is on Friday.

      Awesome, congrats! I‘m afraid there‘s a difference between being a good photographer and a successful photographer. The latter has much more to do with marketing and selling yourself. I don’t do that a lot, so getting a client like that is quite a bit of luck for me 😁. Oh, and thank you 🙏🤗🙏

    Great photo's and great messages about the environment - we'll all be photographing floods and deserts if we don't commit to more action soon. My wife and I toured Scotland in a VW Camper last year - surprisingly comfortable, even with the dog along for the trip.

      Thank you!!! I do admit that photography is quite a lot about gear. Some people want to tell you that's not the case, but they are wrong.
      But there is quite a lot you could do with it. E.g. the #1 shot - you could even get a similar shot with a kit lens. It basically lives from a great location. Same with #4 and #6.

I want to do a roadtrip through Europe or travel somewhere completely different and thats just more fun with someone else. I want to become a Full time Photographer and I want to start making videos again. I know that these are a lot of goals and im very lazy but I love the craft and people like you inspire me to go out there and create myself. You guys are awesome!

      Awww, thank you so much. Perhaps you’ll find someone while you’re out doing what you love. Particularly at the more crowded spots there are quite a few photographers and many of them travel alone. Probably because they don’t have someone who shares their interest.
      Trust me, I and others procrestinate a lot too. What looks easy is in fact a lot harder than it is. I really love doing videos, taking pics and all, but in sometimes it feels like „work“ and you have to get up and do it for a few minutes. Once you did, you are hooked anyway. So in the end all you need to do is get up. I know from experience 😂.

    Amazing photos Amri! 👏👍
    I also use Sony FF and Olympus M43 systems. I must say that i love shooting macro and wildlife with Olympus, due to the 2x crop factor (and amazing focus stacking features), and easy to carry because it's such a smaller system. I don't have the latest OM-1 (hopefully soon), which also has internal live ND filters and improved hi-res handheld...so, even less gear to carry (filters and tripod) 😉

      Thank you 🙏🙏🙏. You mean the wedding couple shoot? Hard to say. I could calculate when I‘m back on the computer. The key is to make sure that they are both on one layer. One slightly less sharp is something I usually tolerate. And shoot many frames because it’s hard to see whether you nailed or failed on location. The more pics you have, the better the chance that one of them is spot on even though you shoot wide open.

      Thank you 🙏🙏. I did use it in manual. We did some test shots before they jumped. The distance to the flash didn’t change all that much when they jumped (I’d say about 10%), so it was quite safe o do the test when they were standing at the edge of the water. Does that help?

    What are the ND filters you keep talking about? What is an appropriate time to use that? During harsh lighting? And does it affect the color or anything of the photo?

    • @wolfamri
      @wolfamri  10 місяців тому

      ND filters are basically sunglasses for your camera. You can use them to get less light into the camera and therefore for example use a slower shutter speed and/or lower f-number. For example for silky waterfalls in bright daylight. They do have a slight effect on dynamic range, but that's really only theoretical and not visible in images. They are supposed to be neutral in color (that's why their complete name is neutral density filter), but in reality many of them have a slight color. You can easily correct that if you shoot raw. I hope that helps 😉.

    As you know I am novice and have a Nikon d5600 with 50mm f1.8 prime lense. In 2023 i will be ready to upgrade and for that I want to know which ecosystem should I dive into? Nikon, canon? I see you use sony a lot, is that for a reason? I am willing to pay 2500 dollars in 2023 for photography. So a mirrorless camera and a lens or two something like that. So... Sony? Nikon? Canon? Especially for indoor, pet, food and potrait photos.

    • @wolfamri
      @wolfamri  Рік тому +2

      Prajnall, I’ve changed to Sony a while ago when they have been the only full frame mirrorless manufacturers and since you usually invest into lenses, etc, you don’t easily change. But I’m still happy with my choice. I love small bodies and that’s where Sony is pretty unique. Plus there is a big selection of (third party) lenses. For the rest many of them are great. Sony a7Iv or Canon 6D (II). The older versions of both should definitely be within your budget. Look for trade ins or cashbacks and you get more for less 😉.

    I like everything so much, except part about meat. Humans are opportunists!

    • @wolfamri
      @wolfamri  11 місяців тому

      Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate that. I totally understand your point, but I'm extremely interested in everything that has to do with the topic of climate change, etc.. While I'm well aware that I might be totally wrong, from everything I read, watch and hear, the logical conclusion for me is that we need to immediately change many of our habits (which is opportunistic too, because we only have that one opportunity). Maybe only for a few decades until technology advances enough to solve several problems. But until we reach that point, we need to make sure that we do not cross several tipping points, that are kind-of points of no return, where not even the technology we will get in 20 or 30 years can revert things back. So I strongly believe that we have the opportunity of acting now or never (for the next 1000 years or so). That's why I try to create awareness within my limited possibilities 😬😉. Eiher way, thanks again - much appreciated!

    • @freekwo7772
      @freekwo7772 11 місяців тому +1

      @@wolfamri I can not disagree with you. I’m advocate of moderate approach regarding meat. But statically the whole Europe gives only 8% of carbon footprint of the whole world. The meat is essential in food chain, not only because it provides meat for consumption but also a milk, and then there’s is a question what about the best milk in the world - milk from Alps and you are Austrian. Another affected industry that would is chocolate industry, especially the one from Austria and Switzerland. They all should find a supplement for the essential ingredient and probably it would be from the laboratory. Ok, we can live without chocolate, but can we live and grow our children without the milk? So, don’t get me wrong, I support your goals but I’m advocate of different approach. Mass market circular economy in order to maintain its cycle needs new products in every cycle. Building more reliable products with longer service support and double the time of a cycle would give this world a better perspective. But I never heard from anyone that takes that into account. So I find war against meat a compensation measure in order to maintain the machine, to be illustrative in Pink Floys’ manner. We want new car every 4 years, we want new camera every 2 years, etc. Ok, but why we shouldn’t support small farms and natural agriculture which has natural cycle of disposal for centuries. I have never heard that someone toss Alpine milk chocolate and had leftovers. Moderate approach is what I’m into. But very much thank you for the answer and honest approach. I hope you feel the same way from me. Certain is that something has to be done. Nevertheless, looking beautiful places that you brought out with camera makes strong impact on rising of awareness about the problem and every effort counts. Best regards 😀

    • @wolfamri
      @wolfamri  11 місяців тому

      Thank you so much for elaborating your view. I absolutely love a good discussion and think if more people talked about it, the problem would be much less because in my experience people feel aware, but they don't educate them really. All they see is the news (at maximum), which is good, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. I totally get your point and I would have agreed with you 3-5 years ago. But I think we are approaching a point of no return extremely fast, so I think it needs extreme measures. The costs of not acting or acting "too little" will not be comparable to the costs we would have to face now for taking extreme measures. I'm not panicking, nor do I want people to panic. I want people to understand that there is a life that is much more relaxed, much richer in most aspects than the hectic world we live in now. If we let go of many things that we only think we need, like the car every 4 years and the new iphone, camera, whatever. We need less income, less goods needs to be produced to create jobs to earn our living.... We would all be much happier and nature too. We just have to rethink. Our cars (I know, two are too much, and I'm guilty too, but one is a business van 😬) are 13 and 17 years old, we try to avoid driving as much as possible and take public transport for many trips, even if they are long. In the end I feel much more relaxed and enjoy the journey.
      We use our phones pretty long. My sin is photography gear though. I don't always buy the latest and greatest, but I definitely have the one or the other thing that I bought in an emotion. I try to get rid of that though.
      Our government (which is partly green) has started a bonus for people who repair electronic goods and repair cafes are starting to become more popular too, so does people who only eat organic food, vegetarism, veganism, people not having cars, people not flying,.... I like to compare everything to an avalanche - it once started as a snowflake. And we are all snowflakes that can start an avalanche. We Europeans could be that avalanche, because we are a big part of the cause. 8% sounds little, but that's only half the truth. Living in a small country like Austria, I very often hear: we can't do anything, China has to start, they are the biggest polluters. That is only true if you look at the absolute numbers. In relative numbers, that looks completely different. If you look at the CO2 footprint per person, we Austrians together with most Europeans are very high up on the list. And that doesn't even take into account, that China is producing goods for us, not only for themselves. But the problem is not a problem of borders. CO2 doesn't stop at the Chinese border. A border is only a manmade ideology. It's not countries who have to solve the problem, it's people. And the ones that cause the most problems per capita are the ones that have to start the avalanche.
      Back to meat: a moderate approach is definitely OK, but I know from my own example (I'm only vegetarian with the one fish meal or so per month) and from friends who do extreme endurance sports (and live vegan), that animal products are not mandatory to live healthy and feel good (actually better once you got used to it - which doesn't take long). It's probably not a good idea to experiment that on kids, but nutrition is so extremely individual that it is impossible to say that kids in general are better off with milk products. Some are, but many should better not eat/drink milk products because it does more harm to them than good (and I'm not talking about lactose intolerant kids, only regular healthy kids). I've once been in a laboratory and observed with my own eyes how human blood reacts to different nutrition. While vegetables are said to be healthy, the truth is - for most it is, but there are some people who should definitely refrain from eating salad, others from eating tomatoes, again others from eating cucumber - the list goes on and on. Science starts to slowly pick up on the individuality of humans - in regard to food, medication,... But it will take a bit more time. Whether people will accept the results of science and tests in this regard is more a question of how strong their will is than a question of what is healthier. Athletes are usually much more strict in this regard because they see it more as a competition and are used to not take the most comfortable approach. Which btw. I'm not saying you are. You have come a long way having a moderate approach, so kudos to you.
      Sorry for the long winded answer, I find this topic so extraordinarily interesting and at the same time important that I sometimes can't help. I hope I don't come across as schoolmasterly 🤣. Either way - thanks again for the nice conversation!

      @@wolfamri Cow that pastures the grass which would otherwise ended in fire as hay or through land fire like we have today in Canada and leave the carbon dioxide in the air. That is the nature as we got it. So from cow or goat or sheep we may maintain the pastures, get a milk, meat, cheese , natural fertilizer which recycle carbon back to soil. It is a natural process since the beginning of the world. Even in animal world. Now some of us wants to trade that for increase in vegetable and soy production to supplement this. What we left in meat industry we increased in vegetable industry. And we also need fertilizers. If we does not have natural, we spent natural gas for it. All of that needs transportation. Meat doesn’t. I can assure that meat from local butcher leaves much less carbon footprint in total that most of products from organic or bio stores which are mostly imported. Fight against meat comes from oriental religious cults of Hinduism who believes in reincarnation and it is well known that in India, cow is a holy animal. Penetration of oriental cults and infiltration promotes circular measure of time and karma. On the other hand, mixed with western thought totally neglect the existence of inequality in practice through caste and introduce the science that cannot align with many aspects of this life approach. Fusion in food, fusion in thought. The was cradle of civilization called Mesopotamia. No one really knows why that part of the world turn into desert. Was it climate change or human caused? No so long ago, just 4000 years ago. Climate will take care for itself, people will get what they deserve and still they won’t learn a lesson. The history always repeat itself.

      Oh yes, we will very likely never learn from our mistakes 😢. One thing is missing though in your assumption and that is population growth. And maybe another one being greed. With so many people having to be fed and the freedom of the market, things have gone way past the natural order. No doubt a local farmer and butcher can cater the needs for a number of people without a lot of transportation. But what about a region like Tokio with 39Mio people, Jakarta with 35mio, Sao Paulo 22mio, Mexico 21mio, New York 20mio, Moscow 17mio,… and even my tiny hometown Vienna with 2mio? It’s not a question of religion, it’s a question of numbers. A pasture can feed a few cows and a few cows can „feed“ a bigger number of people. But with so many people, there are not enough pastures, so cows are fed other stuff. Most of the soy (around 80%) is used to feed live stock. If we‘d eat all the soy, we could probably reforest half of the planet. And without all the mono cultures we wouldn’t need fertilisers. What I know from our neighbouring country Germany is that they have massive problems with over-fertilisation because the farmers don’t know what to do with the masses of cow poo that they produce. Have a read about how the nitrogen cycle has gone completely havoc and how that has become the biggest issue of our planetary boundaries (even more than climate change and biodiversity). You seem to know a lot and have interests in many fields, just like I do, so you are well aware and limit your carbon footprint by local consumption. That’s great. But the vast majority of people knows very little about all those things and behave like there are no limits. That’s why I use my limited possibilities to create a little more awareness and start a thought process.
