The sock squad looks wonderful. Beautiful colors, love the journal.
You might want to work on that winter blanket until end of February. Then finish edges by winter's end.
I feel the same as you, congested with no energy. Hope we are better soon.

I understand what you mean with a project attaching to an event or anxiety. It has happened to me too! There were times I would pick up a project and whatever I was watching or thinking about would come into my brain.

Hi Mary! Yes, our brains are always making little attachments to different things, so it makes sense to me that that may be the problem with my blanket. Lol.

Keep going! I'm crocheting a marled blanket, and I'm committed to making it longer than all the blankets in my house. 😊

Oh, wow, Denise! I had heard that parts of WV got dumped on with snow! Sounds fun, actually. We also have snow, but not near that much!

Blanket edging idea... what about a double or even triple crochet slip stitch? Placing the slip stitches on the same edge stitches would give you a mock icord. A thought.
Method: run a Row of slip stitches down the edge of your blanket; start at stitch 1 again and run a Row of slip stitches on the right side; start at stitch 1 again and run a Row of slip stitches on the left side. Make it stretchy by adding enough stitches... too many will make it wavy.

I have had a recent sock mishap as well. I am taking off the toes and making them longer for my husband. This is the only yarn he has ever seen and volunteringly said he really really likes it, so I guess it is a good thing.

Oh, yes, that definitely makes it worth re-working the sock!

I have also jumped on the marled sock DK version. Making a pair for my husband right now. He likes them thicker.

Hi Laurie! I don't know that my husband would like a DK weight pair of socks. That's too bad, because I think I could knit him more socks if he did. Lol. They are so much faster to knit!

On your garter ridge blanket, you
Could pick up each side and do 3-4 of garter stitch. It would still remain stretchy, won’t curl and would be faster than the icord edge

Oh, that's a great idea! Thanks, Anita!

I would do the crochet edge but just be sure you do it loose and use a big enough hook. Very pretty! I think another 12 inches would be great.

Thank you for that insight! And good idea about making sure I use a larger hook size!

@ no problem. I’ve been crocheting for almost 30 years and knitting for only one year so it’s more familiar to me. By the way you are totally right that it’s so much easier to rip back with crochet than knitting.

What happened three or so years ago that has correlated with millions around the globe experiencing cardiac issues?? 🤔
Including my brother who is having an open heart valve replacement this coming Monday.
Praying for you Amber. As Believers, we know that we have no need to be anxious. In fact, we are commanded to be anxious for nothing.
Thank you for your channel which has been a great encouragement to me and my knitting.

My husband bot the Jimmy Bean blanket subscription and I got stalled on month May? I got thru June then the directions say to start putting the blocks together. I want to encourage you to keep going. If you think of it as overcoming that anxiety by finishing it? I have probably a more moderate anxiety from a car accident, it took me three months before I could use that Starbucks drive through. I feel that I am almost stressless and I am going on 19 mos post accident..

Knitters Kniche has done the Tecla sweater. She mentioned it in her summary of 2024. There may be an episode related to it which I haven't seen. I think the sleeveless sweater will be lovely though. Get well soon.

Hi Amber, when you told us (last winter) about the blanket, and the yarn that was gifted to you to make it, it was clear to me: you were NOT going to knit the squares every month and make it into the blanket. I could see you just weren't feeling happy about it. And to me it seemed that was because you were feeling "trapped": you received the yarn for free, and now you "had to make the blanket". Maybe when you watch that episode again, you will see it too. I hope you do, because it will make clear to you that the negative feeling it gives you right now is not because of you associate it to your health problems last winter. And maybe it will help you to decide whether you will finish it one day, or use the yarn for another project, that will give you joy!! Take care of yourself, and your family. Wishing you good health, both mentally and physically 🥰.

Hmmm. That's so interesting that my body language/words gave off that kind of a vibe.. I am tempted to go back and rewatch that episode. Lol. Thanks so much for watching and your well wishes!
