Thank you for giving us a peek inside BJU Press Heritage Studies 6. I was on the fence about using it next year, but watching your video has truly convinced me that it's what we will be using. It looks really great!
hi! love your videos. I am doing the 5th grade heritage studies and love it. It is set up a lot like 6th grade is ... I feel it's a lot of information, but not to long of a lesson. thanks for your encouragement and God bless.
First year with BJU (thanks to you). We do 6th grade but HS 5, because we want to finish our 4-year period with study of America. It is a good program. We are only 2 weeks into it. I hope to jump into HS6 as soon as we done with the 5th to catch up with the grade.
We will be finishing up HS 5 in March and will move straight to HS 6. I think my daughter is really going to love HS 6. Thank you for this review! This is our first year using BJU, and while history isn't her favorite subject, she has learned so much.
Thanks for sharing! I can't remember if I asked on another video, but are you planning a walk through of HS 4? I'm especially interested in the later portion of the course (regions of the US) and no online samples show that part of the course.
It depends on whether you do parent-led (easier to adjust the length of time) or video lessons (which has a set time for the videos and then you can have them do as much or as little of the assignment). Videos average 14 minutes a day. Hope that helps!
BJU curriculum is set up for 180 days but can be adjusted to a shorter school year. We have never done a full 180 of school and have always been able to make BJU curriculum work for our schedule. We average around 160 days of school each year. Hope that helps!
I would recommend having the teacher's manual if you plan on teaching it yourself. I did not need one because my daughter was taking the BJU Distance Learning course.
I am going through my BJU6 dvd lessons. There seem to be a lot of crafts and other activities. Did you feel the need to skip any? I'm thinking there are a few I am going to leave out n
Thanks for sharing. It's so helpful to see inside books

Looks good! We've used HS 2 (last year) and 3 (this year) and I plan to stay with it. Are you using the videos with it for HS 6?

Have you tried Heritage Studies 6 from BJU? What did you think of it?
Great video as always.. how long would you say it takes for a lesson (daily). 😊

@@JanelleKnutson yes thank you so much. We are going to do video lead.
Could you do look inside of World Studies 7th grade?
Added it to my video idea list. Hoping to get to some curriculum "look in the book" videos this summer.
Hi! Is there any world geography in this course? Thanks !
Do you need to have the teacher's edition you think for this? and thanks for sharing this review
I think the teacher's edition would be very helpful to have. It's not needed if you use the video lessons thoguh.
@@JanelleKnutson thanks
How long did it take you to finish this curriculum? I heard BJU has an equivalent of 180 lessons? Is it that the case with Heritage studies 6?

In your opinion, can you use this grade 6 curriculum successfully without the teacher’s manual?
I would recommend having the teacher's manual if you plan on teaching it yourself. I did not need one because my daughter was taking the BJU Distance Learning course.

Yes, we skipped many of the crafts and activities and even some of the activity pages.
Hi, Is heritage studies for a full year or only 1 semester?
Full year for all grades except 1st grade which is one semester.
Janelle Knutson Great! Thank you!
