I have like a love/hate feeling about AMF. I like AMF because their pinsetters are interesting on how it works and the design of it but I hate AMF from my personal Bowling experience as a Youth League Bowler myself.
Me too, it’s funny I have a superstitious relate to Pinsetters. During my League when I bowl on a pair and one of these Pinspotters breaking, I’ll end up bowl really bad. Seriously tho, I love watching Pinsetters but not these AMF’s cause nowadays the breakdowns on these are worse after they were shut down for 2 Years straight during the Pandemic and if you combine the 9 Years of their business doing nothing to maintain their Pinspotters (which they bought refurbished or used instead of new), that’s no good sign...
traceyjwhiteify. Yeah, on the 82-90 there are options or settings of changing the program of the machine but on 82-70, you have the standard options but you can’t change the program.
The holders or the lock of the curtain was broken. So since it can't hold the curtain up, the mechanics leave the curtain down. But now they finally fix those.
This is not 82-90 but rather 82-70. The 82-90 will have the table holding any standing pins in the air momentarily to allow the sweep to do its work before dropping table backing down to respot the standing pins.
Also noticed table not all the way to its rest position ... when machine initiates first ball cycle, table flinches ever so slightly upward before its downward motion to feel for pins. That little upward flinch at cycle initiation could put more load on the motor. This is on lane 8.
They are because these are the early models of the 82-90 when AMF reuses their 82-70 Aluminum Table before making the actual 82-90 Steel Tables for their. Sometimes, they could be just 82-70’s converted to 82-90 with just the 90 chassis and 90 pinwheel making the difference.
I could watch these pinsetters forever. AMF pinsetters aren't my favorite because of how many times I see it fail, but still entertaining.

The little houses with only eight or ten lanes are the best. Love bowling in those.
Douglas Skaalrud. Well this place has 16 Lanes, 14 Lanes are still functional and 2 Lanes are dead.
i love pinsetters watching them operate the ball return the sweeper so cool

You : No no no, not so fast
The pin : :'(
table on lane 8 is sitting a bit lower than the others. Looks like the x-plate is hitting the pin deck.
Ikr
Why the delay on the sweep cycle...
They change the Sweep Timing either from the Chassis
Because it's an 82-90 82-70 timing is normal

1:30 Woops
Anyone notice the lane 8 headpin holder thing has a broken head ?
I already notice that Pin Cup was broken
Are you referring to the spotting cup? Yes, it is broken and the pin is wobbly before being set on pin deck.
What's with the super low curtain on lane 8?
The holders or the lock of the curtain was broken. So since it can't hold the curtain up, the mechanics leave the curtain down. But now they finally fix those.

I have a video behind the scenes of these machines, just watch that this is not a 82-70.
the curtain is low on lane 8
The brackets that holds the curtain up on Lane 8 were broken at that time
