I’m bummed your diesel heater didn’t work out. We just bought one/will be building the box and what not this week. Having the heater not work when needed is definitely a fear of ours! Haha as always, thank you for the content! We especially love the winter/extreme camping trips! Happy Anniversary to you and Katie!
A couple tips to increase the diesel heater efficiency when you get it working or a new one. Add a return duct from the tent to the cold air intake side of the heater and pickup an insulated duct. I was shocked at how much temperature drop I had from the heater to the tent, ~6ft run, with a non-insulated duct and 0F temps.
Awesome trip... Great video. Forgot your ladder, Rookie move. 😆😅🤣 The heater needs more testing at the house. You and I see a winter storm and think... I need to get out in that. The socket you have the diesel heater is only up to 10 amps you need to purchase a 110v to 12v converter that goes up to 15 amps...i just did mine and works great. hope this helps someone.
Bro put that heater in the truck bed on a slider and run a power line from your tent. This gets your jackery out of the cold and also protects the heater too. Glad you got out in the elements testing gear. 👊🤙🏽. Diesel heaters are awesome just needs a little tweaking.
Maybe a fuel issue with the heater? I was having problems a few weeks ago with the fuel gelling and clogging the pump. Pickup a anti gel fuel additive.
You might want to switch out the controller to the blue LCD with red remote, that way you are not depending on the remote to connect. Also add an in-line fuel filter if you can, it will be tight but it will fit. I have the same size box design, mine works fine.
