Mr Floyd had many opportunities to defuse the situations leading to his death. He was approached twice by the store employees asking him to come inside and return the goods and money he stole with the counterfeit money. He declined to take the opportunity to make things right so the police were called to help resolve the situation. Mr Floyd then ignored instructions by the police officers to sit in the police car while they investigate the situation caused by Mr. Floyd passing the counterfeit money. And I've literally nvr had tears the way I have watching this, esp watchin witnesses. I think the only thing that's been similar is Cheyanne Harris, & sum of the witnesses there. I hope Chauvin feels like the POS mo fo SOB he is, esp listening 2 the KIDS who watched a POLICE OFFICER committing a MURDER, not solving one. I'm gettin seriously fcked off with the defences line off wot happened during the initial arrest. Wot happens in the moments b4 a murder don't matter af, wen once the murder takes place. Same goes 4 bringing up George Floyds previous felonies, again irrelevant. But if the defence hopes 2 win this case on that. Along with sayin it was poor health & drugs, they ain't got a hope I don't think. For 1 George the question is would that have killed him that nite, without Chauvins actions, well lookin at the CCTV doubt it. They're tryin 2 say that's why he was struggling 2 breathe in the car, where it's clear it was panic, he thought he was gonna b shot, plus said he's claustrophobic! Cos even if that contributed, the major difference is contributing or cause. I hope in closing the prosecution do sum kinda comparison along the lines off - If I shoot 2 ppl, 1 healthy and 1 not & has taken drugs. They both get medical care but the healthy 1 lives, the other doesn't. Cos the drugs ect contributed 2 the death does that mean I'm not guilty off murder. I would bet my life that anyone intervening would’ve probably been shot by the defendant and possibly 2 of his Co workers. Only the young cop showed slight concern. He should have followed training and stopped what Chauvin was doing. The witnesses were helpless bc of the very real threat of also being murdered. Murdered by the police. As disgraceful as it sounds, it’s a fact that it happens and they get away with it alot. How terribly guilty must every one of these witnesses feel that they could not save George. How awful that they were probably also fearing for their lives, as they watched this poor innocent man be murdered.
That is the ultimate question for which there is reasonable doubt. Chauving should be on trial but Floyd was dying that day even if Chauvin never showed up.

That's the point though. The crowd was angry, because of what they *thought* they saw, even though the realities of the situation were more complicated. That anger created a situation where a legitimate threat could be assessed, changing the police and medical protocol of the situation. Just because cross-examination is an abrasive process does not mean the anger itself is on trial here. 30yrs on EMS, you should be well aware how field medics learn when a person is DOA or not, regardless if they're missing their brain matter and other such stipulations. You should also be aware that having to tell ppl who should definitely know better to gtfo of your way... and up off the unresponsive, non-breathing patient.... so you can do your job and TRY to resuscitate the injured anyway is not conducive to your effectiveness in treatment or in chance of recovery for the patient. Medics had to take Floyd away FROM the officers because they were in the way, actively preventing him from providing immediate care and transfer, and he saw, from his point of view, within the professional opinion of his job, that Floyd was dead and not coming back... and the officers were to blame. He wanted to get Floyd away from the unsafety of the officers so he could do his job. It's important not to forget who put Floyd's dead body under those officers in the first place. He was showing that the guy's choice of language demonstrated his increasing stress/anger as the situation went on (don't know where he was going with that point, but that was the point he seemed to be trying to establish at the time). Which was hilarious and sad at the same time.. because this 'witness' spent so much time trying and failing to avoid answering a simple question just because the defense asked about it. Then when the state came back and asked a question about the guy being angry, the guy accepted it. He removed his credibility to me as a useful witness in a big way at that point. because he made it obvious that he was actively trying to tailor his responses in a way that he thought would steer the case towards a particular outcome instead of just answering truthfully. So if an ambulance had been called 3 minutes before this gentleman arrived and then 2 minutes before to step up the ambulance. Defies reason why this trained police officer was still kneeling on this mans neck and two other officers were forcing the man on the ground while in handcuffs.
The defense is, in a very backwards way backing up the prosecution here. An ambulance being called indicates Floyd was already needing emergency care, medics. For a bystander to not know of any of this before he arrives on scene and to determine imidiately that the person needs emergency help because of the severity of the situation is not something negative as the defense is aiming to portray. The lawyer sneers in contempt at Williams here. He is actually exposing themselves in attempt to smear Williams as a witness. If you see a person getting mugged, as a hypothetical comparison, you don't stop and think, well probably the 20 other people witnessing this must have called police so do nothing. It's weird reading all these comments because it doesn't matter what we all think. All the defense or prosecution has to do is convince 14 people on the jury that their side is the correct one. 14 people will decide on how the public reacts.
I do not like being a word Police, but this time I had to. 12 people will decide. 2 additional jurors are only alternates. They sit in the courtroom, but are not in the jury deliberating room. Obviously we know that alternates are there incase something happens to one of the 12.

I think youre probably right. It depends on how many people look at you tube. We can be like the media. There was a credible atty on fox news that said chauvin should have been charged with 1st degree murder. If enuf people relay that it might have an effect if the federal govt steps in later.

Bad police work by the leader Chauvin. At least 1 officer should’ve put a stop to it. I don’t care how long they were cops or rookies. It’s human nature to try n help not destroy
Because Floyd was a violent criminal, and he could have been faking unconsciousness. If he had, and Chauvin let go, a paramedic or cop could have been hurt or killed.
We now have criticism of the public for filming it. Surely if anything the cop would get off not avoid getting fired. His arrogance led to him committing murder.

The images are very hard to watch. There was no need for that treatment even if the man had commited a crime. Those police officers are bad professionals. How is that four of them couldn't control a handcuffed person? People were entitled to feel upset and angry with the police officers. What would've been the reaction of the general public if four black police officers would have done that to a white person? The people trying to call the attention of the police officers can feel very proud of what they did that day. The actions of the police officers were deplorable!
Where is the empathy from this judge, for the trauma the witnesses have suffered and are having to relive during their testimony! They had to listen to a man pleading and watch him die and he can't even reassure them and tell them it's ok to take their time, when they're emotional and struggling to speak! He actually looks irritated by the fact that they are upset.
God bless the citizens of the situation Being a voice for Floyd thank you to all of you who stood up for justice All hero’s to me each witness even a small child was brave enough to stand up
Everyone around the world, even people who don't understand the context of race and police violence came to the same conclusion. That this was wrong. People of all backgrounds could plainly see this was wrong. I feel for the man who had to watch this and feel so helpless. For all the bystanders screaming for his life watching him die and knowing they could do nothing to stop it. Don't think "oh its ok he had a criminal record" because they do this to anyone. Tamir rice was a child and the police treated him the same. Chauvin plainly had no regard for Floyds life, took his time and nonchalantly killed that man.
The Judge seems bias in favor of the defense. Cause every time the Prosecution objects a question the judge overrules the objection but every time the defense objects something the judge sustains.
I noticed this too! But don’t worry God vindicates for the innocent, God will vindicate for Mr. George Floyd and his family and justice will be served 💕
This reflects the weakness of the prosecution counsel, not the judge's preferences. The judge is there to arbitrate the proceedings, not to pick sides. If the prosecution formulates impermissible questions or makes foolish objections, that's on them. That it's not happening much to the defense counsel speaks to his capabilities more than the judge's preferences.

She has absolutely no business arguing with the judge. The first witness, the dispatcher, did not act this way and I'm sure she has her opinions on what happened.
Is anyone else wondering what Chauvin is writing on his note pad. He's constantly writing even during jury selection. So far the witness are amazing. I would not be able to cope with being a jury on this trial. I applaud the brave jury.
The witnesses are too ideological and politically charged and that may be the downfall of the prosecutions case. So far two people have been argumentative and one got thrown out. Are we watching the same trial? The witnesses had compassion. I'll give them that.

It's called cross-examination. You lead the witness in questioning in hopes to get contradictions and conflicting evidence. You can do this for many purposes. Maybe you want to get two witnesses to tell different stories. Maybe you want to establish testimony as unreliable. Maybe you want to poke holes in the framework of the opposing counsel. Both Defense and Prosecution have the right to cross-examine witnesses, and this allows for fair assessment of testimony by all parties. Please, read up about how legal proceedings work. You will unfairly assume the wrong thing about the defense counsel and poorly understand the arguments being made. Not only is this defense attorney acting correctly to question the witnesses this way, but he is helping create a bigger picture of everything involved. Even if it helps the prosecution (which in fact is how this sometimes works) the public, the court, and the jury will have a bigger more complete picture.

It's not the medic's fault. Its not Floyd's fault. It's not the bystander's fault.

Thank you !! Been bothering me so much. The timestamp for this portion is aprox 40 min in.
These people were picked because they had no affiliation and appeared to demonstrate no bias towards one side or another. Some how some way EMT knew he was a possible DOA pulling up to the scene, as you see in the video, once the initial EMT attempted checking his pulse he DIDN'T inform Chauvin, other cops nor other EMT's that CPR should be administrated nor oxygen provided. Why on earth at around 26:00 is the defense lawyer grilling the witness about his life and career? What is going on? Why does the judge allow those questions to a witness that has essentially nothing to do with what the cop Chavin did?

My thin neck, couldn’t take it for a few seconds. I feel sad for George today and every human being who died unjustly.

God bless the citizens of the situation Being a voice for Floyd thank you to all of you who stood up for justice All hero’s to me each witness even a small child was brave enough to stand up
Excellent witness. Perfect amount of articulation and is not submitting to prosecution bullying tactics
😷he is a proud boy im not
This reflects the weakness of the prosecution counsel, not the judge's preferences. The judge is there to arbitrate the proceedings, not to pick sides. If the prosecution formulates impermissible questions or makes foolish objections, that's on them. That it's not happening much to the defense counsel speaks to his capabilities more than the judge's preferences.
Yup
Every cop there should go to jail
If this killer does not get a proper sentence we should all help to take this case to International court in Holand, we must teache a lesson to this killers.
Medical evidence is next. I'm thinking of getting together a petition signed by medical practitioners who have seen the video(s) to affirm they believe this was homicide and Floyd died from a cardiopulmonary arrest caused by compression to the airway and chest.

Were you watching another court case ? She ruined the defence.
She was a total embarrassment, and I bet she is a real gem to work with. Her conduct while donning her department uniform, though being on scene and a witness as a civilian, should get her fired. She has absolutely no business arguing with the judge. The first witness, the dispatcher, did not act this way and I'm sure she has her opinions on what happened.

The witnesses are too ideological and politically charged and that may be the downfall of the prosecutions case. So far two people have been argumentative and one got thrown out. Are we watching the same trial? The witnesses had compassion. I'll give them that.

Why is he acting like the witness is on trial
