Yes, I got lucky with the recent cyber monday PC deal from Walmart. A MSI Codex R. I went from a much older Asus/GTX 750 with a very buggy Pinball Emporium to the MSI/GTX4060 with Pinup Popper. Night and day difference you can imagine! I got the info from "RudysArcade" here on UA-cam. I believe that the new version requires a key that bypasses the need for that file. If I have the PUP packs installed; is there anyway for me to disable it easily to only hear the original ROM audio + colorized DMD. Sometimes the PUP pack video is super annoying.
Pup packs don't affect color dmds but to disable pup packs, just put in a b2s and it won't work. Or you could make an alias table that doesn't have it so you can choose. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!
@@wayofthewrench Thanks. Something that I'm really racking my head on is how to add the color DMD's into the actual table so I can use it in VR. It's opening in another window always.

Hello, it's me again :) Can you give me a little help? I've installed VPX for the fourth time, and the first three times, I set everything up to work properly (on W10), but a few days ago, I installed W11 24H2 and went through a new VPX installation again. The regular (ugly) DMD works, but that's not what I want. And even the command that allows me to move the DMD with the mouse and save the global position or for that specific table isn't working like before; I don't have those options. It's like something is wrong with that part of the program as well. I installed VPX 10.8 64-bit version using the Complete Beginner Guide To Virtual Pinball by Rudy Arcade.
Hrmm lots to go wrong so I'm not sure. Did you use baller installer on a fresh install of windows? Get the base system going properly first. To get color roms working, this video has everything you need so maybe you've missed something. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch and I hope you get this sorted out.
@@wayofthewrench Thank you very much. I reinstalled W10 64 just like before, and now I hope everything will work. I will just make sure that all 14 files I need to download are updated. Yup. Baller installer gets the programs set up but for each table you want color ROMs, you need to do this and how you do it is exactly the same. You just don't have to update the programs like I showed, jump to the how you do the color DMD files. Thanks for the watch!
I want to make my own tables. I have experience with Blender and animation, but for some reason I'm only finding 2 tutorials on youtube about how to create a table, and none of them show how to import 3D objects. Does anyone know of a channel that has tutorials about making your own boards?
Yeah there are not a lot of videos on this subject....I looked and am also interested. Maybe in the far future, I'll try to learn this and make a tutorial. Cheers!
@@wayofthewrench Hey man, so I've been looking around and it took a while, but I found something of interest. There's a program called Visual Pinball Engine. It uses Unity to make VPX boards. Then while in Unity, you can add game logic, and animations to 3D models. So there are a ton of Unity tutorials, but there's still no direct VPE tutorials that I can find on UA-cam. But I feel like I'm getting closer. I hope that helps you.
@@chillasslofi Perhaps you already found out but Visual Pinball Engine is the next Visual Pinball program (the next VPX if you will) which is still in development. Last I read is that it is at least one and a half year away from completion.
Im succesfully on 64bit but .PAC dont work. You say: Some people have had their .PAC color dmds not work but have had success only copying over these files from Lucky1: DMDdevice.dll, DMDdevice64,dll, Pin2color.dll, and Pin2color64.dll Copying from where to where and do we have to name/rename PAC files or just put it in its colorrom folder?
Not sure, you could look on VPUniverse. I don't know how to request one but you could ask in a comment on one of the other color dmds already done by an author. Good luck!

PinUP_Popper_Baller_Installer_2311, 1-B2SServer-2.1.2-win-x86-x64, 2. 2-PinUPSystem_x64_drivers_update, 3-Plugins64 With DirectOutput64, 4-VPinMAME-sc-3.6-967-win-x86, 5-VPinMAME-sc-3.6-967-win-x64, 6-New roms for VPinMAME v3.6, 7-x86-Color DMD Plugins Freezy 2.2.2, 8-x64-Color DMD Plugins Freezy 2.2.2, 9-FlexDMD 1.9.1, 10-VPinballX-10.7.4-win-x86, 11-VPinballX-10.7.4-win-x64, 12-VPinballX-10.8.0-1953-win-x64, 13-VPinballX_GL-10.8.0-1953-win-x64, 14-Popper Recording GPU Update. If you have any suggestions regarding these files, just let me know. Thank you very much. Or even better, if you know of a good course but only for two screens, let me know. Thanks. I used this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/x0CFLSs7R3c/v-deo.html
you must make a video how we can makethe sound on metallica louder then the effects, please help there a great problem for all, thanks
Do you have Pinvol installed? That would fix it.
no but i have no ssf i mean the music vol in metallica are low and the effects from table are loud i think i cant it manage with pin vol without ssf@@wayofthewrench
@@wayofthewrench i have now testet it but dont work i can set global sound vol and table sound vol thats both the same the mechanical sounds and the music not seperately sooo sad please help for that problem, i think much people have this with metallica
You should get pinvol anyways cause you can tweak volume for each table and it saves it on the way out.
Try going into vpx preferences and sound manager. There will be volumes for everything in the game.
This is great, but it would be really nice if this video was split into chapters. Thanks
Yeah good idea! Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel! Cheers!
ps. does this e xplanation also work if you do it on a "Desktop" modus ? or with 2 / 3 screens (monitors/tv, but no pinball cabinet)
Yes it does! Thanks for the watch!
@@wayofthewrench great great !! Gonna try it for sure ! Like your explanation......straight forwarward, just like i would do it @home..... a hobby-ist
Awesome, good luck!
Is this still relevant to the new 2024 baller installer ot do i still need to do this? I know. Newbee question
Yup. Baller installer gets the programs set up but for each table you want color ROMs, you need to do this and how you do it is exactly the same. You just don't have to update the programs like I showed, jump to the how you do the color DMD files. Thanks for the watch!
Thank you for replying. appreciate the video and explanation. @@wayofthewrench
You're very welcome! Hopefully I earned your subscription today. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!
never mind, i believe i didn't name the .bin correctly. working great now.
Perfect, happy it worked for ya!
Very nice Thank You
You're very welcome! Thanks for the watch!
Ahhh, I press f1 and nothing. The other stuff work but that menu
Check if another keyboard can press F1. I had something similar happen to me but with another key. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!
Amazing thank you and no nasty ness
Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully it helped you get color DMD going. Thanks for the watch.
Cool, soooo much stuff to learn and make out there.....I wanna try it all!
Yeah I heard about it but I'll wait because it seems things progress so fast these days. Cheers!
Very cool.
Thanks dude!
This is a bit old pac files will not work without key
Yes you're right, the info for updating is in my upgrade to 64 bit video. Thanks for the watch!
Im succesfully on 64bit but .PAC dont work. You say:
Some people have had their .PAC color dmds not work but have had success only copying over these files from Lucky1: DMDdevice.dll, DMDdevice64,dll, Pin2color.dll, and Pin2color64.dll
Copying from where to where and do we have to name/rename PAC files or just put it in its colorrom folder?
Rescue 911??
Huh? The game? Does it have color DMD? Not sure what you're asking. Cheers!
Is there a color for the Gottlieb Rescue 911? I asked this. If it doesn't exist, how can you request it?
Not sure, you could look on VPUniverse. I don't know how to request one but you could ask in a comment on one of the other color dmds already done by an author. Good luck!
We have several sayings in the UK..... The dogs bollox........The tits.........both these describe this video. jolly good show old chap x
Thanks dude! I didn't know you were from the UK Richard. Thanks for the watch!
