Don't forget to pickpocket Withers every time you re-spec. There are no downsides to doing it. so re-specing is free. Just don't let the gold he takes build up too much. It will be harder to pickpocket
Dude, I watch FextraLife, IGN, GameSpot etc for guides but YOU are SOOOOO much clearer in every little thing you explain. I watched Fex last night on Combat basics and went cross-eyed before coming back to your combat tutorial! Please keep doing this!
You are awesome, thank you for laying it all out there. After searching I had found the places to change class but had not noticed the muti-class button.
I've known that you can respec companions to entirely different classes, but from the RP perspective I avoid this. I allow multiclassing but their main class must stay the same.
I tried not respeccing companions, but playing a druid, I don't really have use for 2 more druids. So one of them became a ranger, and the other a monk
@@Sheamu5 I feel like some characters stories are really tied in with their classes like shadowheart, wyll, halsin, gale and some are not. So for them I choose to multiclass but still involving their original class in some ways. But characters like Laezel, Karlach, Astarion, Jaheira, Minsc I feel like their stories in BG3 don't involve/ reflect their original classes that much. So from RP perspective, I can change their classes to anything. But tbh, I wish Larian would give us more races variety. Like we don't even get any small races at all, and so many humans and elves and in between.
A number of channels (Wolfheart, being one, I recall) had videos which described how a single person could access the Multiplayer mode for the game; therefore making every member of your party a custom character. Not sure how that affects the storylines, which come with the Origin characters, as I never tried it. But, it is an option.
@@darinsingleton3553 I have seen those videos. Need to run 4 instances of the game simutaniously etc. A hassle is what it is. Hope it gets patched in soon. Picking out beards for your character for 30 minutes is cool, would love to do it for companions as well.
If you make a companion a Paladin, do they have to follow their Oath the way you do as the Player? If I make Lae'zel a Paladin and then have her attack a goblin that I know will turn hostile after the conversation, will she become an Oathbreaker?
I have a question, If your a wizard and have learn a lot of spells through sroll, and change to something else like a sorcerer, but then decide to revert back to wizard, do you lose the spells that you had previously learned?
You will lose the spells. I had Gale subclass into necromancer, gave him some scrolls and decided to change his subclass and he lost all the spells he learned.
This is great--I want a cleric in my party but I don't particularly like Shadowheart, so I'm just going to respec Wyll into a cleric, since I like Wyll and Gale but I'm already playing as a spellcaster and don't need three of them in my party.
So you can’t change your class without withers? I saw a trophy you can get for changing your class a certain amount of time but without withers. How do you change your character without withers?
Wait, so if I understand correctly, after I change my stats, it will make me go back to level 1, but I'll keep all my XP, so I can instantly level up to what I had before?
I don't understand what reclassing does every video I'm watching says to respec at lvl 2 for a multiclass build but if you change classes it resets your character back to level 1. So I don't understand what they mean. Changing classes part way just makes you on class so how is it multi-tasking. I just don't get it.
Thank you for making this video! I do want to mention that if you're playing Explorer mode, you won't be able to multi-class. I learned this the fun way!
Curious though what do you think guys should respec the companion to? For sure Wyll will be a Warlock/Paly with pact of blade due it's make sense for him and & he is the weakest companion at level 7. Also want to try respec Gale to fighter/Wizard but not sure if it will be blast or not? For Karlach still didn't decided. As for my avatar I'm Storm/Tempest build which is really nice.
Wow, this is incredible, honestly did not know this. I re rolled cause I really wanted to try that infiltrator build. But recognized that I need that Dark Urges playthrough to bring the build to fruition.
Ty for confirming that respec companions has no downside and will not affect thier stories that’s the main reason I was scared to do change anything.
There’s another UA-camrs saying it does.. I’m scared

really, there are no downsides?

just thought I'd mention that at least for your main playable character.. you can change your appearance in the magic mirror at a corner of the camp
I've known that you can respec companions to entirely different classes, but from the RP perspective I avoid this. I allow multiclassing but their main class must stay the same.
Yeah same. Subclass should be kinda like their personality imo
I am glad the game allows us to do either.
Agreed

Thanks dude, I wasn't sure whether experience was retained when changing class. Now I dont have to save scum to test it out haha
thank you kind sir
Great video! Wondered what those hirelings were all about. Thought they'd be goblins or the like. You rock!
Option to build a party with custom characters with custom appearances please Larian..amazing game otherwise.

Great info! tyvm!
Perfect video. Thank you.
Shadowheart is a great life domain cleric. I turned Lae'zel into an oethbreaker paladin and she's awesome.
Great guide, thank you!
Only one question: does this interfere with the story at all, or is this 100% story-and-gameplay-segregation?
Algorithm support

I heard if you respect to a cleric you choose a deity and it does change your story. I have no experience but hear another streamer say this

Question about the Hag Hair, does it carry through the respec?
Curious as to exactly how many Hirelings one can have at anyone time ?

thx now i can with full confidence kick gale out :Da as soon and as hard i can :D
If you get level 1 in all classes, your character will end up a little Abserd.
🤣 if you know, you know!
I made shadowheart a paladin
Best show case video for this feature

Gale is a tempest cleric /storm sorcerer, wyll is a swords bard, laezel is an unarmed monk etc :p
Won't I lose all my skills as that class if I respec to a new class?
Wooo

Hate playing stealth but loved Astarion's personality. Gonna respec him to a warlock I guess haha
