I accidentally met Jan a couple week before he died. Well, not met, just a 'hello', 'hello' kinda thing. We sat at the same restaurant. table next to us, that's when it dawned on me.... I'd hate to be a celeb. With everyone just going crazy when he was there.

The most accurate review I've seen of this says "...both so gifted vocally, they make something out of the nothing that is Duett". The song is very ordinary really, but they sell it for far more than it's worth.

Agreed. They might have even won with this average song, if the average household had stereo speakers on their TVs. This particular song sounds like fried assholes on mono speaker though haha
I've listened all the songs at the Eurovision ever and ranked them, and Norway was my winner 4 time in a row, with 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996

Of Elisabeths four entries in the ESC (1982 for Sweden, and 1985,1994 and 1996 for Norway), this was the the most underrated one. Outstanding performances.

This was such a great song but so under rated
If more people had stereo speakers in 1994 it would win. It sounds trash on mono.
I wouldn't call 6th place underrated. That being said, there are many songs in 1994 that should have done better than they did... but NOT this one. This one deserved top 3!!

By the way, Voices from Norway are very clear, because of the clear Air.
Not perfect. She has a tendency in all her performances to be a bit sharp. Her pitch accuracy is not top drawer. But the two of them go extremely well together and he smoothes over her weak areas making this performance really stand out.

A song ahead of its time, absolutely beautiful. It would have made an even more stunning performance with a slightly slower pace, which would have created seconds of space in between for these very powerful singers.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on mono speaker. Which is what most of the public had at the time. I remember listening to it on a mono TV once, it was terrible.

Both of them were out of this world on that stage, but Jan Werner's scene-mugging really puts me off, and the arrangement for this song was rather weak.

@@morbidsearch But they doesn't require the backing vocals to be live. So the artist could just use an autotuned version of their song as the backing vocals.

The song is beautiful, Elisabeth is breathtaking, BUT Jan is absolutly unsympathetic and lordly. that´s why they don´t win!
