while it is an interesting idea, I don't want to mislead people into thinking that this mask will offer a lot of protection. Because it won't. If you wanted to just put this over an N95 mask, sure.
@@MuchProps that's what I was referring to. For example, painting a COVID mask with an MK design. BTW, one of your constituents actually made an MK-shaped COVID mask, but after seeing the vid I have the same concern as you.
I'm pretty sure that paint or putting markers on the N95 mask compromised the integrity of the fiber and makes them less protective. I've seen people doing it, and I don't think it is a good idea. But I love the suggestions.
Thanks. Started making a custom helmet yesterday that I hope everyone will dig. It is my own design so it makes me a little nervous putting it out there but I like where it is going so far.
Use whatever you want. You could also just glue cloth, cross-stitch mats, or anything with a cool texture. I've seen some dinner placemats with cool cutout patterns that would look good. What ever it is just hot glue it on the inside of the mask in those recessed areas.

I also noticed that you use a hand grinder with a stone attachment and a wood burner. can these things be replaced by something else? I will not buy unnecessarily one or two masks. Barge is the brand of contact cement that I use. You could always score the lines of the helmet and hit it with a heat gun instead. The template for the menpos is in the description of the video.
I love this and love your passion for your creations your really talented. I think that if you made it smaller it would of framed your face better but in cosplay it’s a perfect match I love this!!! Also could you possibly maybe do a sailor moon 🌙 scepter 😅?
It does bulk up a little at the cheeks. Some of the reference images I looked at, actually kind of looked like that. But I totally agree. Some of the newer ones also have the ends covered by hoods. Menpos are so cool.

Hey, in the sub zero mask, you skipped a step. What did you use to make the little cylinder respirator pieces in the middle of the circular parts of the mesh?
I do skip some steps so my videos don't run long. The little cylinder is just a round piece of EVA with the edges beveled over with a sanding drum plunged into it. You could also use the cap off of something like a squeeze apple sauce pouch
Hello there, I am just curious, if the EVA foam is "health friendly". You know, when you are planning to have the mask on for several hours for example. In that case do you have idea what material can replace/substitute this foam? Thanks a lot
Not sure. I have never worn a mask for more than a couple of minutes. If you uncomfortable with having the foam on you face, you could line the inside with fabric. I would also recommend adding holes or mesh as the inset so it is more breathable

This build is from over a year ago and I have literally done over 100 more builds since then, so please forgive me if I tell you wrong. But it looks like the should be a 45 inward cut on the curved end of the jaw piece where it meets the mouth piece. I caught a glimpse of it when the video shows the glue up. You could also heat form it a little after you have assembled the whole thing to make it fit a little better. It was kind of bulky around the cheeks.
It was over 100 videos ago so forgive me if I am wrong, but looking at the video and the angel of the mask, the jaw piece, where it connects to the mouth, should also have a 45 degree inward cut
I still break out the old PS2 and play Mortal Kombat with my 5 yo son. He calls it the "ninja game" and loves every minute.

Can you use just regular rubber cement for gluing or does it need to be this type of cement?
Not sure. Rubber cement is a little more flexible, contact cement is a sturdier bond. You could try it but I don't really use rubber cement.

Yes. My brand of choice is Gorilla Glue, for me it's easier to buy were I live.
