This track is now also available on bandcamp on the new "dark cities" release, I would love to get your support! - ollilaboratories.bandcamp.com/album/dark-cities
+ollilaboratories Have $10 my friend. Just bought all 3 but Lighthouse is my fave ;). Totally worth the money as always. I'm saving the pennies at the moment to get some new gear and everytime i see your videos and you have something new i add it to the list ;) Ideally i want to go out and buy it all in one go, plenty of unboxing it'll be like Christmas as a kid :D Keep up the good work bud.
absolutely incredible. god tier performance. complete control. perfect timing. one of the best i have ever heard. thank you for making great music and pls keep it up!!
This is such an awesome track, I always listen to this when i'm doing non audio related video editing work! keeps me really motivated and creates a driving rhythm to stay productive!
Absolutely fantastic chilled jam session! everything flows! I could listen to this every day! Aira and Volcas work so well together in your setup! And video and lights looks professional, too! GREAT MATE!
+VolcaRock thanks a lot mate! :D im glad you still like my grooves.. ! Trying to get some moodier feel to the overall setup/music, getting closer i hope :) cheers man, and keep up the music!
I love my TB-3. On my last vid, I used it as the master clock which fed midi into my volca keys which fed my pocket operators. Everything stayed nice and tight the whole way through. It's a great machine. For what it's worth, I thought it sounded nicely balanced with the volca bass here.
Matt Greer Yeah, i actually noticed some timing issues adding the TB3 to the mix... i guess that midi is starting to show its limitations. Need to get something powered to handle more gear. :) and thanks man, cheers!
Absolute quality ! It's one thing to have the gear but to use it like you do, to master it and perform so tight and professional is just pure class. You should send this to Sasha n Digweed and the likes - can imagine them banging thid out in a set ! My fav of yours so far 😎
This set inspired me to make a live-set (and film) too. I never enjoyed making music more than i do now... This specific track has become my reference for making spacey techno based live jams. I listen to it regularly and learn. Thanks for sharing!
I've just come across your music after watching your video with Loopop... so good my friend. Given me lots of inspiration as I have just started my hardware/live journey. Thanks and keep doing what you're doing. Amazing stuff
Awesome track. Lots to love about this, from the bubbling sequencer to the pads. My favourite sound is the bass that sounds like it is scraped along corrugations. Well done!
This is outstanding. Really melodic but still an underlying edge, a real 'lost on the dancefloor track'. Love it man. Will be purchasing some of your stuff for sure.
Thanks! :) yeah, the volca keys has been my favourite for a long time, it is very limited, but this is the upside for me as a love to try and squeeze as much as possible out of it. :) cheers
Just wanted to thank you for getting me into this awesome world of analog! Got a roland gaia sh-01 on the way and gonna try and pair it with a novation circuit.
Came across this one and I'm blown away. Fantastic session and nice setup! Gonna work myself thru the other vids and your bandcamp releases. Keep on going.
hahaha ... just realised that Burg is the name of the band ... always thought it was a reference to my home town Edinburg... often called the 'burg for short ....
perhaps you could try using audio clips and have that reverberate through the strymon reverb box. sounds taken from everyday life, such as a swinging door, radio sounds, wacky abstract sounds, a jet engine/turbine, an aluminium slinky (sound waves), just anything and everything. it would be good to see if you could turn a simple sound into a unique sound, e.g. a kettle heating up .etc. you get the gist :)
This set is sooo sweet! Loved your previous tunes as wel, but this one is the best so far! Any chance you can do a video about your setup? I would really like to know how the strymon fits into all of that gear.
+Pulsarstunes thanks a lot man! :) i have not really planned a setup vid, im not much of a tutor.. who knows, lets see what the future brings :D cheers!
Hello Friend, My name is Hercules Sousa, I live in Brazil and I am completely Facinado for their sound, their music, their way of Create and Execute the Sounds, I am percussionist and come to a time studying and playing Percussions Electronic and seeing their work was quite inspired to create something so I can also create sounds and make music with the difference that I will also add my Percussion sound, I hope we can be friends and will also be an honor for me to receive a your tips, hugs, Sousa Hercules of Brazil!!
Wow! I love your music. I've been listening to this track for ages now. I'd love to see a breakdown of the musical elements, especially the Analog Four (considering buying one)! I'd love it if you came to Taiwan to do a gig! I know a few places in Kaohsiung you could play. :)
I tryed to include The TB-3 in my setup, wich is essentially composed by Volcas and Korg's Synths, it was so desperantly that I finally sell it ! I regrett now, when i Hear your jam, .... I souhd have been mre patient, and try and try again ...! Very good Sounds, man, Hope to hear you soon, when you'll turn in France !
+Thierry Schuler thanks a lot man! i really hope to get to france sometime in the future! also, the TB3 is a pretty tough synth to integrate.. i struggled a lot with it but finally found a balance :) cheers!
Thanks!! :) oh, this depends.. but majority of the sessions have preparations in terms of creating loops and overall structure with some rehearsals. Then during the jams, a lot of improvisation happens.. i do several takes of the same song, and they never really sound the same :)
You call this techno, but this is straight out psytrance and is the best example of live multi-instrument EDM I've yet heard. I'm trying to to build my own live arrangement but I need more info regarding how to obtain mastering quality fidelity in a live configuration.
Seriously I have no clue regarding genres, If you say it psytrance it probably is.. haha, I just jam it :) and thanks! Live is tough, but great fun.. working on the sound design and mixing is key, it take a lot of time and needs to be rehearsed to get all levels right etc etc.. yes its tedious but rewarding at the end. cheers GLHF ! peace !
your music is incredible man. i love watching these videos, its great to see electronic music done the way its supposed to be. wish i had money to buy some of your music. maybe next paycheck lol. keep it up friendo
this is weird but your setup is kinda what im aiming for, thinking about getting the mx-1, tr-8 and the vt-3 next paycheck, got both new tribes, system-1m and jd-xi right now :) really nice jam! love the sounds!
Love it man! I am just getting into analogue gear, I was wondering if you could break down your set up a little for me? What are you using to sequence the synths/instruments that don't have their own built in sequencer? Is it that little white box next to the Volca? Also, as I understand, you are recording to two tracks onto a Zoom? how is it possible to record onto just two tracks when you have at least 4 instruments going? Are you sending the output of some instruments into a single channel on a mixer? If so, what instruments are you grouping together? Would love to hear back! Really digging the vibes!
It's nice to see the Volcas used in a 'serious' setting, given the flack they get sometimes for being basic. Great little boxes. Good stuff!
Yes, this kind of content is lacking. He did a great job. I especially like how the mixer doesn't clutter the beauty of everything else.
This track is now also available on bandcamp on the new "dark cities" release, I would love to get your support! - ollilaboratories.bandcamp.com/album/dark-cities

Reminds me of the old Frankie Goes to Hollywood 12" remixes. Immense!
BluffMunkey Totally :)
BluffMunkey oh, must check them out, have not heard in ages. :)
The beginning reminds me of the start of FGTH Relax(Original 12'') but slowed down. I think their's needs a 303 on it though haha.
halcyondaystunes 12" of Welcome to the Pleasuredome for me, although side by side they sound nothing alike lol. More the vibe.
No they don't :D definitely the same vibe though. Got me on FGTH binge now haha/
Absolute quality !
It's one thing to have the gear but to use it like you do, to master it and perform so tight and professional is just pure class. You should send this to Sasha n Digweed and the likes - can imagine them banging thid out in a set !

Great work and sound, the volca's pack a lot of power for tiny boxes
Awesome track. Lots to love about this, from the bubbling sequencer to the pads. My favourite sound is the bass that sounds like it is scraped along corrugations. Well done!

Definitely one of the best channels of this type on UA-cam. How much of these performances is prepared beforehand and how much is improvised?
Thanks!! :) oh, this depends.. but majority of the sessions have preparations in terms of creating loops and overall structure with some rehearsals. Then during the jams, a lot of improvisation happens.. i do several takes of the same song, and they never really sound the same :)
Oh jesus this is illegal, keep it up, it's awesome! Subscribed!

Certain chords at the end remind me a little of Boris Brejcha's Thunderstorm song; which is an amazing song by the way...
Love it man!
I am just getting into analogue gear, I was wondering if you could break down your set up a little for me?
