Dati, sa Ateneo team ko lang nakikita yung parang grabe yung connection. Walang isang player na bumubuhat sa buong team. Ngayon, ganun na rin yung sa UP.
And no doubt, this UP team is much better than last year's team who took the championship. Sobrang amazed ako sa deep bench ng UP. Lahat talentado kaya di sila pagod ngayon individually kasi grabe pwede magpalit palit then same intensity pa rin.
The only time Ateneo led was early in the 1st quarter. They never led the whole game since. What a defensive effort by UP! Lucero was also key in this win, from 0/11 in his last game against Ateneo, to being player of the game. 1 more win to make history! 2 titles in 1 year, and if it happens, 1st ever back to back championship for UP!
He will be 0/20 next game. 😛

UP is so deep, they can afford to put Diouf and Tamayo off the bench. That's insane, 2 MVP-quality players . And because of that, they can exploit Diouf feasting over ADMU's 2nd unit. And they can play Lucero and Galinato together, who have great chemistry and complementing skillsets.

It's Evident that Ateneo is still not used to play a down the wire game since majority of their wins are blowouts eh. Imagine Ateneo played a ton of down the wire games this UAAP season... UP naman is Super Stacked, Super Great Playing as a team and sanay na sanay sa mga close games.

Ateneo will surely come back angrier and hungrier. There are still 2 opportunities left. This is still anyone's game. I am happy for my team to have secured Game 1 but Ateneo should not (more like never) be written off. As much as UP's roster is strong and Coach Gold is brilliant, Ateneo has a very strong history and program backing them. Coach Tab is still Coach Tab. Ateneo players might have struggled this time, but they can go wild in the next. The championship is still up for grabs.

UP’s individual talent is beyond reach and compare, mush more of their Coach Gold, very quiet but smart , UP Fight!
The center forward lineup of UP, was just incredible in this game. Especially Lucero and Malik, plus Galinato and Tamayo. Ateneo could only rely on Kouame and Ildefonso plus with a little help from Fadrigao.

@@fredtacang3624 agree tawang tawa nga ako sa comment section sa game 1 finals. The only edge of goldwin against tab is that his roster is more talented than coach tab. But kudos to coach gold, he really knows how to utilize them making them so tough to beat. But this is why na sobrang appreciated si coach tab, he can bring his team despite how talented the other teams are, to the finals. Given the preparations were longer, make no mistake, he will come out of the top. Just like what he did back in season 79 and 80. Some fans of the other side were so naive. They only knew that ateneo is so strong but what they didnt know is that, tab and ateneo had to go thru underdog moments before. Seeing them accomplished feats after feats makes their journey so beautiful to watch. But yeah, coach tab is the goat.
