I know you guys don't usually watch the music video because the visuals can be distracting when you're trying to listen, but I highly recommend watching the music video to this song to get the song's "full effect" they were definitely going for a theme with this one and it's somewhat tied to the visuals
It's odd to say this, but without the video you don't really get the intent of the song on this one.

If a band needs you to watch their video to explain the song on LP. They're not good at making music.

This song has one of the most iconic music videos of all time.
I love Blink192. Most of their songs boil down to, "I'm an obnoxious jerk," but I still love them.

I love Blink. They had such a vibe...and their music videos were fun. You would have had a completely different experience watching the video. My favourite Blink track is 'I miss you', which was an instant classic. I also have a soft spot for 'I'm lost without you'. They did broken hearted emo tracks so well..... Also 'What's my age again' is funny.
Yeah, "I Miss You" would be a good one. I can hear them now saying, "This sounds totally different than that first song we listened to." ;) They should definitely watch the video for it, though

Smash Mouth was pop ROCK with a little Ska punk at times. Blink 182 is pop PUNK. Almost similar. Maybe she got confused. 😆
You just can't imagine just how MASSIVE this song & video were when it came out watching & listening now but it was HUGE...and EVERYWHERE
This is a great song from Blink. Definitely one of their most commercially successful/sounding tracks.
Anything from their self titled Blink 182 album is amazing. Really shows their growth as a band. Violence is one of my favorites and All of this feat Robert Smith from The Cure is one I feel like doesn't get talked about enough.

Technically "Josie" was their first hit. It was played on college radio long before "Dammit" hit national radio.

Blink was THE BAND of my middle school years! Good call on the middle school year vibe. Please keep reacting to them. I recommend Dammit if you want another hit, but Wendy Clear is my favorite.
this really feels like childhood... for me Blink 182 is my high school drunken evenings in the pub... "our" pub completely filled with teenagers from the school on friday... we all drinking laughing and having fun and Blink 182 blasting their punk-rock stuff the whole night... now ten years later I still listen to them when Im vacuum cleaning my house... :D

They're four syllable phrases is what u meant. Yeah it's totally 90s vibes I'm 26 so anything 2000s or 90s gives me nostalgia i can't help it.
It's skater-punk so its not surprising Brad has heard it; Blink 182 was a standard bearer for that subgenre.
I definitely recommend "Adam's Song" from Blink-182...one of their deeper songs, and from what I've read, it was written as a reflection of what it felt to be on the road while touring and the negative feelings that can come from that when you have no one at home to return to. But it's really about those depressing moments in life that we all have, and being able to get through them and come out on the other side triumphant.

God Adam's song is one of my favorite songs. So good. And real. Back in the day, this was my anti suicide song. By that I mean it kept me alive long. Not I hated suicide. I understand it from attempting it more than most.
Blink is probably one of those artists that you need a reaction to their music videos and not lyric videos. More blink please!
You've probably heard their songs 100 times in movies, TV, ads, background, etc. I would recommend listening to a couple more of their 90s pop-punk and then anything from their self-titled album from about 2004 where they become adults and make one of the best albums I've ever heard.

Blink 182 is such a great band with so so many great songs. Also, Box Car Racer released 1 album that was unbelievably good. That is Blink sans 1 member.

I love playing Blink 182 on my electrical guitar! lol. Punk rock, more like pop-punk. but still. Blink 182 was popular during the '90s and '00s. Probably heard that song on movies, sporting events, stores, malls, Nickelodeon TV shows, on somewhere on the west coast (California, Oregon, etc where punk music scene is big), etc. lol

Their song Mutt was on American Pie movie. Its older and more punk rock, heavy and faster.
This song brings back so many memories of playing this song on guitar with my buddies in a cramped bedroom thinking we were gonna be a punk rock band.

They were definitely paradying the boy band thing in this song. I still remember when it came out. Definitely check out dammit to get their original vibe like another commenter said. Loved every song they've done. If you take requests check remember to forget me off their last album last year. Glad the singer beat cancer. Also... They always have two signers.

“This song is weird, it’s like segmented” I love that you said this because a friend of mine didn’t like Blink 182 because of this similar thing. To be slightly more technical he always pointed out their musical phrases sounded segmented because the lyrics ended each line on the first note of the key there were in. It never bothered me but once he pointed it out I noticed it’s true for a bunch of their songs.
Edit: my friend just said it’s mostly apparent when Tom Delonge sang in the song.

I was dating a girl named Jessica that loved this band and I use to Parody all of their songs. A line that sticks with me to this day is in this song it says "work sucks, I know" I changed it to Jess sucks, I know, lol. She hit me every time I said it.

It's quite amazing if you made it to 2021 without hearing this song somewhere someplace before. Blink took the world by storm once upon a time, they were inescapable.
Stay together for the kids, Miss you, and Adam's song are great tracks as well.

I would say just listen to the studio recording without watching the video. But, this song... the video is pretty iconic. Making fun of all the 90's pop artists. Definitely worth a watch. It's fun. Everyone else is pretty much saying the same stuff.

First time I heard the song was New Years Eve years ago, being played very loudly by a DJ in a park by the lake in Queenstown with about 4,000 drunk teenagers and 20 somethings, dancing and signing (badly).
You should check out their song Staying Together For The Kids...it's powerful song.
