@@the_princier7169 How? It is the top one
Lol
Jesus, the original came out in 2013? I’m old.

"On switch, you can directly skip to game play!" So you don't wanna wait until the scene ends
And also, yup
SWITCH GAME: I am speed.
ME: I wanna wear this Koopa shell at a standstill.
SWITCH GAME: I said SPEED.
the snap-to-flagpole thing seems useful for multiplayer so everybody doesnt need to be super accurate to land on top, thus getting the completion bonus a little more easier.
You Have to land on top of the flag once tho
@@jameor8500 im not sure what you mean. im referring to an unlock in the original version where every character HAD to touch the top of the flag at the end of every level. if it turns gold you touched the top.
@@ArcRay20 That wasn’t the case. In the original, you only had to touch the top of each flag pole once. Same with 3D Land.
@@BrerOswald Actually you are wrong. There are unlocks for doing it with each individual character. In single player this meant playing through the same level 5 times each while getting the top of the flagpole.
@@DarthTalon5 Actually you are wrong. There was an unlock for beating the levels as every character, but you definitely don't have to touch the top of the flag.
So THATS why the flagpole hitbox feels different
If you really wanna sit still inside a shell, you can rub it with the hand to make it stop as soon as you get in it
Makes sense
Hi magolor
The question is, could you imprison another player eith the touch pad on Wii u?
@@randomusername1735 idk man
“Rub it with the hand”
I’m having Lemmy-related flashbacks
I have no idea how you manage to find all of these differences. But i'm pretty sure it took a lot of time and effort! Definetely liking this one as well as the others.
in 1-1, you can press “A” during the very start where the camera pans in and it skips the start on the switch version
In Wii U that happens too
It happens on Wii U too so check before you comment for free likes

One of the things that was very odd to me is that they removed all the X's from the UI
Yea thats the only thing I don’t like, the X’s looked really nice now theres just empty space between lives
You know how in Super Mario Odyssey. When you’re underwater, you can ground pound then press y and you’ll swim forward fast. I was really hoping the switch version of 3D World would add that, it would make the underwater levels faster and better since they’re mostly slow
No, that feature wasn't added, but the thing I cannot remember, is that combo of starting a ground pound and inmediately press the run/attack button to perform the air roll in Super Mario Odyssey, existed in the original 3D World, because in this game you can do it, but the roll is somewhat weaker
0:41 mario please help
0:51 MARIO HELP ME, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME ITS HAPPENED

Damn, the Sprixie triggering the Discord mods
The last one is basically like what happens in NSMB series, but instead if a wall it teleports
im honestly surprised they kept in the Year of Luigi bonus game Luigi Bros.
Really where is it ?
@@cant_catch_3185 well they showed it in the video so its in the game somewhere! im assuming from beating the game and the special worlds after that. i forget how it was unlocked before, but it could be different in this.
@@ArcRay20 After you beat the game (not 100%, just to where you get the credits!) You can access it by pressing minus on the home screen of 3D World :) it's little icon of Luigi is in the bottom left corner so that's how you'll know you have it
On switch, everything is F A S T E R ~~~
THE END
Except buttsliding, which is slower to get started.
Blue Toad: Allow me to introduce myself!
Even grabbing the top of the goal pole is faster!
4:26 Oh, I always thought the Hitbox was just huge
Me too.
You can’t use the gyro for the camera in the switch version. And sometimes the camera icon blinks glitchingly
Not even on handheld?
wait, so whenever my camera icon was tweaking out, that WASN'T my joycon drifting?!?
I really don't like #10. It looks weird how you get teleported to the flag pole and it's less satisfying when you don't jump on the flagpole yourself.
Right? And also less challenging
#10 is the best feature imo
It's jarring, but great for post game or co-op (speaking from experience)
Definitely a quality of life feature for 100% people, sucks to play a whole level and then have to play it again because you slightly miscalculated a jump at the flagpole. I do think it looks jarring though, maybe just killing all momentum and having you drop down to the top wouldve been better but eh, not a game breaker for me
It’s all less realistic (cartoon logic)
That outro shows a difference with SMM2 I didn't know about?
2:20 I feel this so much from playing it on Wii U
1:58
Finally, Rosalina isn't just Luigi with a double jump anymore!
Dang it, the shell standing still was something I liked!!!
Someone else commented, you could still stop it with the Hand by touching it immediatly after entering
Maybe you could try that out if you miss it
@@zugverruckter5721
Thanks! I actually loved just looking at the character staying still in the shell, so I wasn't going to buy this game for the switch when I already have it for the Wii U.
But now that you told me this, I might buy it.
Thanks for letting me know!
2:24 actually, that's not true, you could press ZL+ZR to have a menu similar to the virtual console games that let you go back to the title screen
Did they really need to make it easier to get the top of the flagpole...?
3:21 perfectly in sync
1:23 ceave’s full game crouching run will no longer work
i KNEW i wasnt the only one that noticed the flagpole thing! Tbh its helpful to get the gold on every flagpole but it just feels kinda like they're rushing me to beat the game. I wish there was a way to turn off the changes because my biggest peeve is when i do a ground pound to STOP my momentum but the new midair roll move always messes me up
I mean, you can still ground pound though
@@bluerious5475 yeah but it still happens
The font for the "HELP!" and level titles is also different.
I'm really grateful for the flagpole teleport because it's so easy to overshoot these Flagpoles in a lot of the later levels.
There is a glitch i found.
When you have a tanooki suit and do an air-slide the second before you touch the flagpole, the character won't to a tail attack, but instead a normal roll. I did it with peach, and it was pretty hard to perform (i found it out by accident, but performing it then was pretty tough)

Never noticed you snap to the flag on switch.
So that's why i haven't overshot one so far, neat!
Just got the game today as an early birthday gift! Me and my little brother played it and we loved it!
3:05 All cutscenes (except end of final boss) including credits are skippable on switch, whereas Wii U doesn't let you skip anything!
The outro was so satisfying to me idk why
1:53 lives on switch
Can we get 69 likes lmao
@@Knightros nope.
you can stil go over the flagpole by jumping, then spinning with rosalina, then dive
you can jump over the flagpole with enough height. it's possible to do some corner wall jumps to get on top of the big block if you don't hit every switch to lower it, then if you jump over it with luigi or a leaf, you won't teleport down to it.
You do a great job on these videos!
I love how they kept Luigi Bros. in, the Year of Luigi lives on.
Looks like Nintendo is making their best to make you have the smallest experience of "Super Mario 3D World" ever with all this speeds updates!
Yeah... I noticed that it's easier to grab the golden flag... not because you have the dive juumb, but also the top of the flagpole has a magnet that pulls Mario and friends to it.
You're the best Looygi!
ceave is lucky that he did the challenge before switch beacuse if he did it when switch was out he might've not known about the wii u version making the slide jump normal not long
I was thinking that!!!!
Tbh in switch version you are able to jump over the flag pole with rosalina. If you can't then try it on that boo mansion level where there's this one fake flag pole (I forgot the level's name)
#10
You can no longer jump over the flagpole (lol)
You know I can't help wonder if some of the changes are really made by the developers. Like the coins loading in faster or the characters moving faster is just because the switch can process assets faster. I can see a lot of the changes, especially in character movements are a reflection of this. The movements are far more dynamic and fluid. And its good Nintendo at least took full advantage of the Switch higher capabilities than just making a pure straight port
Gotta say, I'm a fan of the magnet pole. If you're going for 100% like me, you're already going to go for the tops, and it's not like there's any reason to jump over the pole in the first place.
The flagpole change kinda nasty though

i was so confused trying to do that tail spinning jump, why did they get rid of that one, it was useful
The flagpole change is such a nice quality of life addition, and makes it more like the 2D games.
I'd love to see a supercut of everything in the game that has changed!
0'34 Mario gets dizzy from that

The characters were been working out for 8 years ! It's a good result tho 😄
everybody: calling it super mario 3d world + bowsers fury
me: calling it super Mario 3d world + bowsers fury + Luigi bros
I'm just glad they didn't remove Luigi Bros from the Switch port.
1:14, Cuz that won't cause any problems at all when you're trying to gain height or grab the edge of a platform...
1:17
Crouch run be like:mission failed
Weel getem next time
I'm starting to wonder if these changes are good or not so good. Some of them are great, like the faster Loading Screens and stuff, but other fun (useless, but fun) features, were removed. Idk how I should feel about that tbh
1:42 there are 654 lives on the Wii U side and 69 lives on the Switch side
however
654, 6 5+4=9 ergo
69 lives in both
nice
I noticed how weird the flagpole was on my play-through as well. Most of the larger changes made to the game I would consider benefits (4-player Captain Toad, Run Speed 30%), but this alongside the new green star/stamp mechanic just makes it unnecessarily easier
New star and stamp mechanic? I haven't noticed lol, what is it?
@@hylianespeon3062 When you die, you retain green stars and stamps from before the death, in Wii U edition, you lost them. This means you can just damage boost through a green star puzzle, even if it kills you, and there's essentially no punishment. Overall though, this port is better.
Aww, I saw the green star/stamp thing mentioned in the next vid and got excited. To my dismay, he did not notice it due to my outstanding detective work. This is truly the worst day
I think the Wii U had several text differences in the British English version of the game, i.e. Broken Blue Bully Belt is known as Broken Boiling Blue Belt there. AFAIK the switch version always uses American English, even when your console is set to Europe as the region.
I wanna get this game so bad but I don’t have it yet only the Wii U version which is still fun but I want the new features and Bowser’s Fury
I felt the flagpole one immediately
I didn't even know about Luigi bros lol. (the thing on the tile screen)
That’s good video ^^
Collected stars and stamps are not lost upon dying as long as you finish the level without exiting to the map.
3'29 Likely cause mario got charged for the tail jump…
That last one is exactly subtle, i noticed it frame one on the first level lol.
4:25-4:38 That’s why I keep getting the top of the flag! I always feel like ima jump over but I never do!
I did notice that in 3D World Switch you always somehow get dragged towards the top of the flagpole if you should’ve missed it because I’ve seen some videos of regular 3D world before and the flagpole wasn’t as easy to go on
dude what i had NO idea you could get inside a koopa shell, after what, 7 years?
Me neither.
As a peach main the flag teleportation is a lifesaver ngl
I didn’t know you can actually play the classic Mario bros arcade o.o
OH YEA the flag pole I’ve been realizing how I just teleport to the top point and when I was on wii I’m always mad cause I go over the pole
Didn't even know you could do a "tail jump." Interesting change to remove it though.
I like the Switch version because it's much more speedrunner-friendly.
I think it’s the opposite. It makes it so normal running is faster than cat momentum, so it removes all the fun and feeling of being skilled by pulling of a timing trick every jump.
Actually looygi the charged tail jump is actually possible to perform in the switch version of 3d world,I just hold crouch and then pressed the y and b button at the same time.
Can you use save states in the Switch version of Luigi Bros like in the Wii U? If so, it would be strange because the Switch would borrow the same save state feature that was used in the Wii U's virtual console selection, when there is no Switch virtual console.
Hey Looygi Bros, PLEASE READ THIS. I noticed this difference. On the Wii u you could pick up a character and still spin jump with Rosalina by holding Y next to a player and pushing X while you are still holding Y. On the switch, you just throw the person instead of spin jumping with them. I hope you understand what I mean and you show this in the next video. I can't wait to watch and see :)
8 years ago: help
Now: AAAAAAHHH OH GOD AAAAAHHHH
Now that last one looks definitely better now 4:06
I'm a bit pissed the cut the spin tail jump. Now whenever I try it just opens into a long jump
I personally dislike the flagpole teleport. They could have at least tried to make it look smooth when you're further above the top.
A very swift and forceful magnetic pull would do the trick than just teleporting.
The flagpole teleport was probably for new players who are still learning the controls.
I swore I noticed that I landed on the checkpoint flag much easier now. Glad it is confirmed.
