Crafty peeps (and Sasha)! If you don't have talcum powder/don't like the smell, use cornflour instead! Most talcum powders are exactly that, plus fragrance. I made my pastes some months ago with this recipe and cornflour, and it's exactly the same 👍 Thanks Sasha for sharing!

A really easy way to remember what colours will give you poo, is if they have all 3 prime colours, you will get poo. Eg red and green, although they compliment eachother, if mixed they make brown. I just have a cheap colour wheel on my wall over my desk, just a quick reminder, as we do have our dizzy moments! Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the video ❤️

Every Saturday me and my roommate start the day out by cleaning house, then the house is all spotless smelling all pretty and clean then we pull our craft tables over and we start doing cards or tonight we’re going to actually do for paper pumpkins that we’ve had sitting there that we haven’t had time to do and that is my perfect version of a Saturday evening.

Don’t add water, that’s what makes it go mouldy. I use corn flour and a really cheap pva glue. Tonic glue is too good for this. I bought a litre bottle of pva glue from the works for £2 that I use just for making texture paste. I also make black texture paste using black acrylic paint for mixed media work. Love the projects xx

    • @SashaReade

OOOOOOO i LOVE the idea of Black! YES!!!! lets do that next! Great tips on the mould avoiding, good thing i didnt add water! Corn flour is a great tip as well! Baby powder is a bit stinky. But ive got that whole thing from when the kids were born- never used it on them, but had it just in case. Now im using it up. Thanks so much for hanging out with me tonight

Omg I was laughing so hard about the Black Friday thing. I’ve always stayed away because you buy things you don’t need but you wouldn’t believe how many people head out to the stores at midnight for sales. It’s craaaaaazy. So funny

I like to craft during the day as well. And how funny to hear you say that you and your husband watch crime scene drama/ mysteries on Saturday night, because that’s what me and my husband do as well. I loved learning how to make the textured glue. So ,urchin more affordable and less wasteful than buying from the stores. Thank you for sharing. Love your videos.

The way I remember which colors make brown, are the opposite on the color wheel make muddy...
    Green & Red
    Blue & Orange
    Purple & Yellow
The colors that will go nice together are the ones next to each other on the wheel.
    Blue, Purple, Red
    Red, Orange, Yellow
    Yellow, Green, Blue
I would just google a color wheel and you will see and understand what I’m saying. I hope that helps

This video was SO much fun to watch! I may get brave enough to try this technique someday, but I doubt that I will end up with something as pretty as yours. When I paint, my colors always bleed together and make a muddy mess. Enjoy Home Alone, one of my all-time favorite movies.

I know i watched this later than when filmed but orange and blue, purple and orange, yellow and purple, green and orange, are the big colors that when mixed when wet make poo brown. I'm not a big mixed media person, although some mixtures are stunning ! One never knows what will work together or not. Love that you were brave and strove forward to try it. Craft on Sasha!

I had an old cracked dish that I wanted to decorate to plant cacti into. I mixed polyfiller with some paint and PVA glue, I added a little silver dust and mixed well until smooth. I put a layer of PVA glue onto the dish and let it dry then put my paste into the dish, making swirls and patterns. After that dried, ( two days). I put another layer of watered down paint on top. After thoroughly drying I varnished the whole dish and planted it up. My friend was so impressed that she put some money into a local charity if I gave it to her. It was fun and easy to make using really cheap materials but looked really effective.

sacha you have already tried to put a piece of plastic follie over your jar after use and then close it well. I do that with my paint, paste, mouse and that helps against drying out, just try and see if it works successfully.greats from Belgium😘

mmmmmm ginger bread! No idea where you are, but in Canada at winter someone always made gingersnap cookies, gosh i miss those so much! I need to find a recipe for those. Mmmmm soft and chewy! YUM. What a great idea to send the grandkids some little houses. It's such a sad year, we're not seeing any family this Christmas- first time in my life it's just us. But it is what it is, and everyone being alive is far more important. We'll see each other when can and we will eat a feast together im sure. You sound like an ace grandparent!

I know you love getting messy but what I use is plain and simple tile grout works the same way and you can add glitter and paint to add colour. I have that stencil that you used off alinacraft so I am going to have a go and I think I have decoupage butterfly tissue paper. Always love watching yr videos.. oh by the way . Dry between colors if you don’t want “muddy” colors. One thing I did was spray my water colour card panel with clear acrylic topcoat. I’ve got a can of spray varnish leftover from other crafting. I go outside, hold the card panel and spray a very light mist over it. I have matte finish so it doesn’t change the look at all, just keeps the color from rubbing off.

You can use opposing colors on the color wheel IF YOU let one dry before adding the second. With watercolor, you must not use lots of water when adding the 2nd color. But if careful it is a nice way to use complementary colors.

You can use cornflour. It’s probably cheaper than baby powder, but it’s the main ingredient in baby powder since they no longer use talc. It doesn’t smell either

I love how this card turned out! I've dipped my toes in the sands of mixed media art journal pages.. they are utterly cool! What could make this toe dippin' adventure even better? I've also found a beautiful channel to learn different methods of DIY book binding. Gahhh, I'm a happy girl seeing a sprinkle of mixed media on Sasha's channel as well! I do love me some Sasha! Btw, I tried to email you the other day but it got hung up in the spin cycle and never left my box. May have been best at the time, who knows.

Colors to get the browns you mix a primary color say red and the mix of the other 2 primary’s or green, and you will get brown. Rainbow colors ROYGBIV red, orange. Yellow green, blue indigo, violet are often used in card making videos. Personally, I like cool colors together, and warm colors together. I’ve found a color wheel really helpful. It will show you combos that work. Moldy stuff, if you do add water try distilled water since most tap water has bacteria in it.

  • @Professional_ProCraftinator
    @Professional_ProCraftinator 3 роки тому

I think a bit of glycerin can be used instead of water. But test that theory before you make a gallon regardless. I like using glass bead gel for some stuff. I add a bit of paint most of the time. I also use just plain old tubs of vinyl wall spackle. That stuff you use to fill nail holes in your walls. I also add paint to that if I need a color other than white. I also bought a huge bottle of acrylic pearlized paint that I will also sometimes add for a little more bling. Both glass bead gel and vinyl spackle are sandable. Maybe I will go to Sasha's Facebook group and see if I have been approved to join yet, so I can share some examples of what those two mediums look like when used like a texture paste. Happy crafting folks!

This is a BEAUTIFUL result, Sasha. 👏👏 At first I was horrified at so much black 😱 But in the end it's all come together wonderfully. Amazing. 😁❤ Well done!! Now, a year on, you probably know more about the colours. The 3 primary colours are blue, yellow and red. Mix those 3 --> brown....in watercolour = mud 😊 So mixing say, orange (red +yellow) and blue --> mud. The same with green (yellow and blue) and red --> mud. And purple (red + blue) with yellow --mud. That's very basic because there are so many shades and hues of the primary colours. Emma Jane Lefebvre, the watercolourist gives great advice on colour theory and the colour wheel. She's Canadian 😃 I hope you've been able to visit Canada by now? Anyway, take care. 🙋

I enjoy listening to your chat & your experiment. It’s also nice that there are things that you aren’t sure about... you get your poo brown when you mix 2 colours from the opposite side of the colour wheel (blue & orange) or too many colours (red, blue & yellow).
