I have to give them props for having the the newly discovered complete crest of Dilophosaurus! probably the most accurate dilo in paleomedia right now!
I cannot imagine how cool this game will be once it's completed. Also, is it just me or is the Dilophosaurus "Thomas" variant inspired by the Jurassic Park novel Dilo? With the red striped crest and the leopard-like body?
I was able to get confirmation from the devs that it is! I love it so much!

That particular variant is named “Clouded.” Isla Nublar means Clouded Island :)

Love what they did with the Dilo here! Most accurate depiction of Dilophosaurus I've seen in gaming so far!
Scelidosaurus is one of my favourite dinosaurs and you *never* see it in palaeo-media, so it's extra exciting for me to have it in game and looking as gorgeous as it does! I also pronounce the "c" in its name btw, but I've heard both forms used before. Anyway, can't wait to see your next park build in this, BIS :)

Prehistoric Kingdom is to JWE what Prehistoric Planet is to Jurassic World: while JWE has its strengths & is great fun, there's a kind of magic with PK even in this early version.
I love the Coelophysis' chirps, they sound so much like the WWD Coelophysis.
I heard it and went down immediately to see if anyone else had mentioned it!!
The sounds from the Jurassic park dilophosaurus are actually the sounds of baby ostriches so that’s why the sound so bird like lol fun fact for the day

As a Planet Zoo transplant, this game is probably the most enjoyable new game I played this year. I can absolutely agree that the details in the dinosaurs is so cool and makes gameplay so much more immersive. Can't wait to see the fully fledged version.

The sounds of the coelophysis are so good and nostalgic for WWD
Imagine how amazing JWE2 would be if they hired or listened people who made Prehistoric Kingdom or the mods of JWE2. The game has the potential to be one of the greatest creation game ever but they only do the minimum
Tbh I really hope they change the feather/fur shader. It just doesn't work great at its current point in my opinion. The strands are chunky and rectangular and it's the same density on every animal it seems. The animals with shorter fuzz look like they got a haircut and the remaining fuzz is just on edge. It gives the animals a really bizarre silhouette. It always sticks out unless it's a longer strand, and it doesn't seem to be as downy as it should for a lot of animals. There's also no distinction in the fuzz between a mammal and a dinosaur, it's all the same style of fuzz, and it looks tagged on (at least with the Smilodon and Coelophysis). It's just weird to look at
When you're looking at the Scelidosaurus and you look at it in a way where there's water behind it, the reflection rendering messes up and it looks strange, and I hope they fix it.
I also really wish that they did voxel-based terrain as well, as the plateaus have these strange lines that are supposed to represent rock layers, but they just look like the color was dropped on it instead of pained on with a brush.
Edit: A glitch I'm noticing is that after an animal turns, its feet quickly turn from the starting position to the new position and it looks really weird
Re the plateaus I believe that really is just them painting on the texture using the Ingame tools rather than any built in layered rock mechanic
@@BestInSlotGaming Yeah it's definitely just a texture, as a layered rock mechanic isn't something that the games have, but the way its done visually just looks weird because of how the terrain is done.

The views were so bad it got hard to justify, but I'd still like to fold it into my eventual park build so
The moves are janky but im positive they will fix that. Tho, I'd wish they would fix the Dino animations first before everything else but I still love that they are taking their time! They are doing wonderful work I can't really be that picky seeing how far they have come!
Edit: I'd also love to see if or when they add particularly effects for dinosaurs picking though grass or trees? I'm sure they will get to water but is also love to see when dinosaurs look for bugs they turn up leaves or even a little dirt!

So I am looking at the game and I have to ask, it is cool the animals are accurate but waht do they do compare to Jurassic world evolution 2.
In JWE2 to my knowledge the animals sleep, wander, sort of interact with each other and if possible, die, kill. Not play with like a plastic barrel, rolling it around, or an animal playing catch up with some guest or keeper. Nostalgic for zoo tycoon 2? Sure.
I did like the dino animation where the first presented animal changes its tail, adorable.
I ask as maybe the dinos will dig holes, or you can place a shelter and see the animals huddle inside, maybe to sleep in a confined space or to avoid rain, maybe see the smaller animals interact with low broad trees like climbing, then see a raptor place with a squeaky toy.

Not quite. Prehistoric Kingdom split from Jurassic Genetics. Then Mesozoica split from Prehistoric Kingdom a few months later.
