- PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson talked to the press at the 2024 K-LOVE Fan Awards after winning her second Female Artist of the Year award. She talked about staying humble, why she decided to cross genres, using the word 'whiskey' in a Christian song, and more.
This is why I love she’s doing this for Jesus many Christian artist forget why are they doing this for and who are they doing this for. It’s all about Jesus.
I don't think I've ever heard someone actually put on a country accent when they sing. I fully expected a deep Tennessee agent in her speaking voice.
She was born and raised in Kentucky
Keith Urban has an Australian accent, except when he sings country music.
Here’s what the Bible says about this, Matthew 6:24 AMP “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].
What does that have to do with this?
@@donmcc6573 This verse has everything to do with this. Crossing over to do Country music is not serving God. It’s a secular genre of music that doesn’t glorify God. You can’t live like the world and be a healthy Christian.
@@theretrowriter6454 It has nothing to do with it. Millions of Christians work at secular jobs every day that have nothing to do with ministry. Being a musician is just a job. There is no requirement that a Christian musician has to only do Christian music any more than a Christian architect can only build churches.
@@donmcc6573 Here’s another verse to explain further. Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort] , as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, (3:24) knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve. Your life should be lived like Christ even in a secular job, however in this instance it’s saying that she values fame over Christ. By taking a step towards secular music she is saying that she values popularity more than her faith.
@@theretrowriter6454 What two masters? She is a musician doing her job. Did you just completely ignore the fact that millions of Christians work at secular jobs? Are they all serving two masters?
I call this sitting on the fence.
Call it whatever you want, it doesn't mean that it is
I call it making good music.
