WOLF BLIND OVERNIGHTER #1 | RED LAKE, ONTARIO
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 бер 2024
- The time has come to spend a few nights in the blind & take advantage of walking into the bush & allowing it to calm right down through the last few hours of shooting light, up until the morning sunrise.
By spending nights in the blind, you not only enjoy the wonderful sounds of the bush, but allows the bush to calm right down because you're not walking in & out of your blind multiple times in a 12-24 hour period. I've had good success seeing Wolves during overnighters, but of course, sometimes it is at night which gives you time to watch their behaviour under the moon lit sky!

Awesome video. Makes me want to get outside! Nothing like being out there by yourself. I love the piece and quiet.
GET OUTSIDE!!!! Except maybe wait til some snow melts so you can go walk out & ice fish & not get lost in all this deep snow LOL
Hi buds you could have a black bear in to your bait after dark as you probably already know! Them critters like to work all night in the dark! Love your videos, you remind me of me when I was your age. Love your enthusiasm!!!!
Keep up with your great work it will pay you dividends! 😊 your friend uncle Bruce! 👍
Oh 100%, we’ve had such warm weather as of late, but now we got about 3 feet of snow. The bears are out down south but not up north (yet).
I appreciate the love my friend - I thoroughly love the bush & anything in it, whether it’s hunting or just exploring!!!! It means a lot to me when someone appreciates my enthusiasm… I just want to be myself & hope I inspire people to get outdoors too!
Very cool brother !!! Looked like it worked out well for the overnighter ! Just a matter of time now . I’m always amazed at how dark it gets in the woods . If you had things walking around and not spooking off you are doing something right . Thanks for sharing
That’s my thoughts exactly. The coyotes walking right in front of my blind was a key indicator that I’ll be golden for a Wolf to step out.
I find Yotes are more skiddish than Wolves believe it or not.
Great video, can't wait for the next one
It’s been a blast so far. I wish I baited earlier in the season but hey, there is always next year.
I still got a few overnighter videos coming - stay tuned!!!
That’s Cool! We have a 5 hour drive to our camp in Michigan’s U. P. Aka the Yoop
I bet it feels amazing once you arrive to camp after that 5 hour drive - Does it have a wood stove & all the normal camp fixings?!
Mite have had Bigfoot aka sasquatch come by !! LoL 😂😂
LOL Samsquanch
Overnight #1 great to see it is comfortable enough to spend the night. Looking forward to #2.
I got a cot in there now… it’s extremely cosy now LOLLL
That's cool. Always exciting hearing something walking around right beside where you're sleeping. I've had it happen camping before but I've never slept in a blind..... overnight. LOL!
Remember to put up a trail cam by your tent next time you’re camping!!!!
20 acres! 12x16 camp 1/2 mile from electricity and 1 mile from pavement. I call it the Mistress😂
LOLLLLL
One suggestion I would have is put some camouflage mesh over the windows would be a lot quieter . What size are your windows I might have some I could send you.
Hmm, that’s actually an amazing idea LOLLL
The windows are about 12 by 12 inch square, maybe a bit smaller but roughly that!!!
By all means you don’t gotta send me anything brother!!!! But if you insist, go ahead & I will 100% toss the camp mesh up & then I’ll cut the window flaps right off so I don’t have to touch any tarp & make noise!!
👍🏼👍🏼
nice set up 👍
Thank you kind sir!!!!! I hope Spring is treating you well!!!!
That was a Barred Owl.
I appreciate the correction!!!! It was so lovely to listen to them talk to one another. Mating season is upon us!!!!
Good luck
Thank you!!! God bless
You need invest night goggles or scope where you can see
I’ve thought about buying some infrared goggles off Amazon - Franklin has a pair & he can see across a medium sized lake at night at wolves… it’s neat to watch them feed, but we cannot hunt at night so it’s strictly for viewing purposes sadly.
Smart move, using your crossbow over a rifle. Good luck on your quest. Find another wolf. ✌️🇨🇦
Thank you sir!!!! Never taken a Wolf with a bow, so I figured I’d dedicate this bait site to archery only.
It’s gonna take a lot of luck & time to have a Wolf make a mistake & get stuck with an arrow but I’m willing to get’r done!
Just me again just wondering what calibre you’re shootin iron is ?
I bought the same gun a few years ago in a small bore 204 for critter control and let me tell you it’s a tiny beast! lol just about the fastest little pill box out there right now.
Bruce
Ask ALL the questions you’d like, Bruce!!!
This is a 5.56/.223 and I love it!!!!!
Nice calibre too you bet!
My buddies son bought the same gun last year in 6.5 creedmore and it really likes getting out there and works well for the long reaches. lol
Thanks for the reply buds and Keep Shooting! 👍
@@brucemitchell4581 6.5 is a great Wolf calibre!!!
Stay well Bruce!!!
How far is your commute to your property? Do you have a camp nearby?
Just heard the part about the 30 minute commute lol
@@chuckjones8565 hahahahah all good brother - yeah it’s about 30 min drive, then about 3-4KM walk or snowmobile ride to the Wolf blind.
Short sleeves?? Oh I get it you're celebrating no skeeter for another couple of weeks!!!
Soon as I see the first skeeter I just want it to be fall lol. Summer has to be my least favorite season.
@@differentfins LOLLL don’t rush winter, darn it!!!!
Hahahahah amen brother - gotta enjoy it while it’s here for a short time, not a long time 😂
Whats the distance to the pile from the blind?
Roughly 25 yards, on a slight incline uphill towards the bait - the wind is always blowing right into my blind so scent seems to be no issue, just timing at this point!
Can you not use a thermal spotter to record activity ?
I replied to your other comment as well - But yeah we can use thermal imaging to record night activity, we just cannot hunt at night in Canada, unless its for Raccoons but even then you need to hunt with dogs & only use a .22
Didnt know that , we can hunt red fox at anytime , deer 1 hour before sunrise and 1 hour after sunset.
@@JamesMcGuire-gr4qj Thats pretty neat about the Fox, they have beautiful pelts on them during the winter months!
If we could hunt Wolves at night, it would be like shooting fish in a barrel LOL
did not like not hearing you your voice can not be as bad as messing with that tarp
Amen brother - I should have done an ASMR hunting video LOL
The tarp is noisy… the moment I touched the window flaps I regretted it.
can you night hunt where you are in communist Canada
LOLLLLLLLLLL this is the best comment ever - I laughed so hard at the “communist Canada” hahahahahahahahahaha
And no, unfortunately we cannot hunt at night. You can hunt Raccoons at night, BUT with dogs & .22 only.
@@PatterningNature i live in Maine with a lot of relatives in nova scotia and new Brunswick i night hunt coyotes i have only killed 8 this year but that is crazy fun we are still hunting all night every friday night and till midnight saterday with thermal
@@dadamark1 8!!!! That seems like a good number, friggin' rights man! What do you typically do with the pelts?
I'd love to hunt with a thermal LOL... Canada is lame though.
@@PatterningNature it is a good #but wish it was more i have made some mistakes that cost me 3 or 4 this season im not complaining there is an older fella in town that i give them to if they are in good shape the rest get tossed
