  • My friend Stratos SY2BKV got this antenna analyzer for his projects and was kind enough to give it to me for a video.
You can get the N1201SA antenna analyzer through the following links (affiliate).

You can change the size of the graph by highlighting the X1.0 and changing the scale. Thanks for the video! I really like this tool.

Please give me some information. What is the maximum coaxial cable length that can be used in the antennas for this analyzer to work?

mine increase values turning knob clockwise, and have a secondary microusb port beside charging port.

Why are you using only one square of the screen range for the range measurement?
It will be better to use all the screen for the range of interest (143~480 MHz) if possible for the device

@8:40 dial turn direction vs up/down... rather than CW vs CCW rotation, consider the dial as a “left to right” slider (ie facing direction vs top-down view) and the turn is “correct”, Right = Increasing.

no' it is also changed as I write this' so units is now right increase and left decrease... at least on the PS100.. the units with hex screws and frosted velour metal casing.

Calibration not necessary with different kind of loads before changing the antenna? Im a newbie in hamradio

Hi, Nice video!! I have one question. The trace on mine changes if i hold it in hand vs if i put it on a table.I mean keeping my hands away from it makes a difference in the trace. Is it normal? Thanks.

I have the same issue just moving it close to even cardboard seems to change measurements substantially make me wonder I can ever get decent values considering how sensitive they are to the environment

Seems like you might be able to change the wire order on that pot to change which way it turns to go up and down. Wonder if they corrected that in the newer version? Very good review.

Yes, maybe. But can’t test it now. Thanks, glad you liked the video.

HamRadioReviews yeah, it is likely an encoder anyways. Not sure why I was thinking it was a pot.

they have.. just got a unit here to DK (85USD delivered) (hex screw variant) and it is right to increase and left decrease from scratch.

Hi , is it possible to connect this device with pc via usb gate?

    • @HamRadioReviews
      @HamRadioReviews  4 роки тому

Hello, you cannot connect it. It has a micro USB port for charging only. 73!

@@HamRadioReviews most units atm PS100 have two bottom sockets, one MicroUSB (just labeled MicroUSB) and the other is a MiniUSB (labeled charging)
are those for USB PC interface?

VHF antennas should've been tested much further from the camera, keyboard, etc. You're not seeing their true characteristics.
The screen is definitely NOT good for outdoor use, unless it's cloudy or night time.
Also, it's inefficient to adjust each digit separately - 100s, 10s, then 1; for example, to explore a VSWR dip, just use the 1 MHz digit and spin it...
Finally, no mention made of the importance of checking other parameters, like impedance and capacitive reactance. Impedance mismatches block power transfer. High reactance means less RF energy is actually radiating from the antenna.

Thank you for your valuable input. Please note that I am mentioning in the video that this is just to show how it works and that proper measurements should be done away from objects. Thanks again!
