Great video, there is a reason why you are the most subscribed to watch channel on UA-cam. Keep up the great work. By the way, I am 18, and your videos have encouraged me to set a goal to own a Rolex GMT Master II by age 35. Thanks for the great videos.
Thank you Peter, deeply honored and inspired by your kind words. A VERY worthy goal and a great motivator in life. I like your style very much, and knowing I have 18 year olds with such good taste and determination among the gentry makes it all worth it! I know you will turn your dream into a reality. Onwards and upwards! Best regards, TGV
I wanted a Rolex Sub at 33 years of age. I was single at the time but I had a chance to buy an old house that turned into a really good investment for down the road. But I was not into watches like I am now. I finally bought my first new Rolex at 60 years of age. A Rolex Exp. II a couple of years ago. Can't really say I'd change anything except I could have got the Rolex Sub for about $2,400 back in 1989. Bummer!
I'm owning my first Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 since almost a year (on Wednesday) and I can testify by wearing it almost every day that this an incredibly durable watch, thanks for all.
I own two Invicta watches. While on a cruise I watched a program they had running about fine watches, and it sparked my interest. I was very confused and thought you needed to spend above $5,000 to get a high quality swiss watch. I have been watching many videos on your channel about Invicta, affordable quality brands, and other things. I just wanted to thank you for your hard work because you really are doing a great job of promoting horology at all budget levels. I also like the fact that you only review what you have had experience with. You're awesome.
I was eagerly waiting for Seiko at the number one spot, then realized it's a video about swiss brands But nothing can beat Seiko's at that price point!!
I understand that part of liking a watch can have to do with the brand associated with it, but if your just looking at build quality and components, its tough to beat microbrands at this price point. What Helm, Phoibos and Zelos are offering for the price is almost unbelievable.
@@brandonblair6868 not in terms of historical value and reliability. Microbrands have been around for a few years Seiko is way over 100. It's also fully in house and cheap to service. I have a 7s26 in a skx that was made in 1998 and it's still running perfectly fine, only thing with it is the power reserve is like 30h or less.
Your channel is really helping me learn about watch collecting. I honestly thought that collectors were only buying high end watches. It’s cool to find out there are a lot of great watches under $1000 dollars. I will still have to save up for these watches but not very long. Awesome!
I love Tissot. Owned two: Le Locle (T006.407.16.033.00) as a formal watch Ballade (T108.408.22.037.00) as a daily watch They got a class, and I always receive compliments on them even from those have Rolex or other luxury brands
Your enthusiasm for watches is great. You've really helped me gain an appreciation for watches and alot of that is your demeanor and infectious passion. Thanks while I build my collection
Stumbled upon your channel, watched this video...and decided to start wearing watch again. I've stopped after having my Tissot stolen several years ago, that was a beatiful PRS model. 3 weeks later I think, and I'm a proud owner of Le Locle. Thank you, mate, for this. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Jordan, I just finished DS9 for the millionth time and rather sad about it. I will be going back to TNG soon. Totally agree about Picard, Patrick Stewart is a legend! Best regards, TGV
I'm blown away with your knowledge in watches and I have to say your taste is impeccable. Every watch you point out as a go I think I like it too and got to have it. I just don't have the money thats the problem.

Great and informative video as always. Although I have jumped to higher level Swiss watches, I always respected the design of Oris and Tissot. One of the most affordable Swiss watch manufacturer with a great history behind it. Keep up the good work.
Hello and good day sir. I stumbled upon your You tube channel after I bought my first luxury type watch this weekend. I've had many watches but never treated myself to a quality and heirloom type watch. I must say I am so happy that I find your channel. I've been binging all your videos. Such a breath of fresh air compared to other channels I've seen on You tube. I am a now a faithful subscriber and plan on starting my own little watch collection with your recommendations of course. Thanks for doing these videos. BT
Also you mentioned Wenger. I have a Wenger Sea force it's a 200M diver. Such a great Swiss watch. You can get them for around 150 dollars. Like I heard you say in another video. I would rather have my Wenger then some fake or counterfeit watch.
The first Tissot I bought was a pocketwatch, then I got a steel Le Locle some years later. I really liked the understated elegance of the piece. The only peeve I have with it (or any watch in general) is that I prefer a totally uncomplicated watch-- to the point I prefer not to have a date window on the face. This led me to look around until I found a Tissot Open Heart, which happens to have the Powermatic 80 movement. I am delighted to see you touch upon these three Tissot examples in the video.
Bought a Seiko Turtle Prospex with stainless bracelet new for $294 at Kohls and love it, I bought it after listening to the channel and it is a great piece for what I paid. Thanks for the reviews Gentry, up to three watches haha but at least one is an Oyster date Rolex from 1979.
Already have 1 of those watches thanks to one of your earlier videos 👍, the Hamilton khaki king. Absolutely love the watch, my first step in the world of Swiss watches.... An Omega seamaster will happen someday! Thanks for the videos!
So glad to hear Josh, thank you for sharing that. A speedy too, that is a very powerful Swiss duo. I hope your dream becomes reality, I am sure it will. Best regards, TGV
Great list and TOTALY agree with you with number 1. I recently got the Seastar dive watch, OMG I love it. Great watch, even before one factors in the price.
I bought a Tissot Gentleman Powermatic last year, I think that came out after this video was made. It’s amazing. The quartz is $375, the automatic is $775, but I got mine on sale under $500. The auto is the best Swiss under $1,000 the quartz is best Swiss under $500 or tied with the new Tissot PRX.
Received my Hamilton Khaki King H64455533 this week and can't stop looking at it. It is all in the detail and that is a quality that you do so well in your videos. Thanks.

Watching your videos always bring a smile to my face. Seeing you enjoy what ya doing makes it enjoyable to watch your videos. Really enjoyed it. Glad you had tissot as no. 1, visodate is my favorite swiss watch under $500.
Love Certina, in fact, I included them in my top 10 underrated brand video a while ago. Thank you for reminding me. Hopefully I will review one this year. Best regards, TGV
GREAT VIDEO!..Have owned several Victorinox watches over the years. Not only do they make a great/TUFF watch but their bracelets are some of the best you will find on watches under $500... I always preferred bracelets up until I started following your channel and I must confess... I have become a huge NATO fan ... especially those from Blu Shark.
Excellent vid , love the intro! Serious question- at this price point are Japanese better quality, because with Swiss surely you're paying for name, history, reputation & swiss labour costs? in other words do we get more bang per buck with a Seiko? Just curious. Saving for a Cali dial Glycene 😉 Thanks for the education & entertainment 👍👍
I always give my bank card to my girlfriend prior to watching your vids as the temptation to jump online and purchase a watch after your excellent reviews and top selections is almost irresistible lol.great vid as always TGV.
There's always a great looking affordable Swiss watch for everyone at different price points Now, nobody can give the excuse of saying "I'm late becos' watches are too expensive, I can't afford it" Great work TGV, keep it coming.
I so glad you mentioned Frederique Constant. I think they are fantastic watches for the money and like you I'm VERY tempted by their World Timer. As for your intro, being a Star Trek Nerd, had a good chuckle. Enjoyed the video - great idea, some great choices. Ciao, John
Thank you John, yup, a very big nerd indeed :D Do let me know if you pull that trigger on the world timer. I might have to get it just to review it, although, I REALLY shouldn't!! Best regards, TGV
Really loving the Glycines. I'm very interested in pursuing grad studies in biochem, so definitely loving that brand name 😂. My own personal goal is the Breitling Chrono Cockpit with the yellow dial that Gordon Ramsay wears so much. Great chef, although the watches he wears makes me drool just as much as his food. Very enjoyable video as always, especially w/ the morning coffee
Tristano you knocked it out of the park with this one. Spot on recommendations but you keep trying to distract me away on my Speedy quest! I will not be derailed try as you might....
Man...i just entered the WatchLand gateway, for a lot of reasons, and you're one of them ;) love your intros, videos, music taste (as i'm a beatmaker myself, i often bounce my head/neck while listening to your intro hahaha)...like we say in french "mec, t'as la classe". So many thanks from Paris, you educated me ;)
My brother in time. Another excellent piece of work. I have two Hammies, a Tissot PRC 200 chrono, and the Glycine Airman SST pumpkin world time. Maybe it’s time for an FC!
I just added a pre-owened Airman for a steal today and it's awesome😍 Thanks TGV... outstanding intro & video as always😉 You make it hard to watch any other Watch UA-cam contributors for sure!
Fantastic! You will love it, I would wish you a good week but I know you already will be having one. Thank you for sharing that, it motivates me greatly. Best regards, TGV
A Victorinox Infantry Automatic was my first automatic and it hooked me hard. Going on 7 years with it now and it’s still a favorite. Very underrated pieces if you ask me.
I have the Frederique Constant FC-303BN5B6B, with the black dial, stainless steel, 40mm, automatic, i absolutely love it, it's pretty much my daily-wearer these days.
Another enjoyable video, Tristano! You're bang on with the Victorinox. Bought a beautiful Infantry automatic the other day, and my father promptly relieved me of said watch, it was just that well done!
Very nice vid mate, however i'm very pleased at the moment with my seiko samurai srpb55, but these watches you showed are so beautiful... ughhh must.. resist...
You've got a Willem Dafoe look going in this video. Thank you for all the fantastic videos! I have developed a true passion through your content and you are my preferred reviewer to watch.
Thank You TGV. Your knowledge of watches along with the stories you share are always educational and equally entertaining. I'd love a video on if you could only have 5 Watches right now which ones would they be? I'm sure your explanation as to why would be interesting.
So many videos you have. I really like your youtube channel. Some put down watches that cost less than 1000 dollars which I find annoying. You have such knowledge of watches that don't cost a fortune and lot about the history of brands.
Great selections. My first ever Hammy arrived this morning and I'm just in the process of falling in love with it. I only own one 1960's vintage Tissot PR516 hand-cranker, and am intending to dip my toes in the Victorinox waters soon.
Congrats!!! I bet you are chuffed to bits. Love vintage Tissot, I like your style sir. Happy hunting with Victorinox, I am sure you will enjoy them too. Thank you, Best regards, TGV
I have another Tissot to add to the under 500 $ mark, the Everytime swissmatic with a 75 hour power reserve. I found it on jomashop for around 250$ while other variations are for under 300$. I would definitely ask you to check them out TGV. A great video as always, I have started my own little watch collection because of you. Thank you sir!!!
Frederique constant! I have been watching your videos for a long time and have been anxiously waiting for a review on FC either the brand in general or a specific model. I personally own one and I absolutely love it! I feel it's very underated. I really hope you do a review soon!
Was lucky enough to get a couple of the DC4 Airman models for under $400 each. I have that Victorinox Infantry automatic. Compatible to a Hamilton. I have the Hamilton on suede you showed as well as a Khaki King. Nothing high dollar in my collection but I have a couple of Rado D-Stars which are retro modern style. Good video
Great stuff as always TGV. I just love the fact that you're true watch fan. You can appreciate an inexpensive watch all the way to some of the most expensive ones. Keep up the great work, truly an enjoyable time watching your reviews. Best regards. Thumbs up!

Best regards,
TGV
Love the shirt and sports coat, looking extra dapper today TGV!
A Victorinox Infantry Automatic was my first automatic and it hooked me hard. Going on 7 years with it now and it’s still a favorite. Very underrated pieces if you ask me.
Excelent work as usual, TGV! Keep up! Best wishes from São Paulo/Brazil.
Thank you Rafael, so cool to hear form Gentry in Brazil, very cool indeed!
Best regards,
TGV
Glad you mentioned Victorinox, I love my Airboss although that particular model would be difficult to find under $500.
Intro was pure gold!
Thanks for including all the photos/options while you’re talking!
I like this background better than the tower! That Victorinox is dope!
Great video. I own the LeLoche you pictured and it's a stunning piece.
Cool video. My favorite watches are Tissot Le Locle Regulateur & Tissot Couturier day date
I have the Frederique Constant FC-303BN5B6B, with the black dial, stainless steel, 40mm, automatic, i absolutely love it, it's pretty much my daily-wearer these days.
I think these are really excellent choices. I love the classic looks and military styles. Well Done.
Thank you sir!
Best regards,
TGV
Love Victorinox! Great brand awesome watches!
After getting orient and mostly seikos, a nice Swiss watch may complete my initial collection. This video is very useful! Thanks!
Another enjoyable video, Tristano! You're bang on with the Victorinox. Bought a beautiful Infantry automatic the other day, and my father promptly relieved me of said watch, it was just that well done!
Very nice vid mate, however i'm very pleased at the moment with my seiko samurai srpb55, but these watches you showed are so beautiful... ughhh must.. resist...
And so you should be pleased, that is a cracking Seiko, enjoy her!
Thank you Eno,
Best regards,
TGV
You've got a Willem Dafoe look going in this video. Thank you for all the fantastic videos! I have developed a true passion through your content and you are my preferred reviewer to watch.
Well done. Please do a part two to this video!
Will do!
Thank you Jeffery,

I'm certainly proud of my Tissot Seastar 2000 Professional. I love this watch.
Another interesting video. I check every morning for one of your gems.
So glad I found your channel. Watches are my weakness...Keep up the great work.
Thank You TGV. Your knowledge of watches along with the stories you share are always educational and equally entertaining. I'd love a video on if you could only have 5 Watches right now which ones would they be? I'm sure your explanation as to why would be interesting.
Absolute class presentation, as are all of your videos. Thank you!
this is the best intro ever! I want it in every video :)
the part beginning at 27 seconds is killing it!
love every video
best regards
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Love FC, it's just absolutely classic. But now I found Hamilton is cool as well especially Khaki King.
Great video as always, thank you so much!!
Ditto! Love the StarTrek intro!👍Lol
I actually always wanted the Fortis Official Cosmonauts! Still do. The Hamilton X-Wind design as well.
I received my Hamilton Khaki field mechanical today, So that's excellent timing, TGV! It's the exact one that you describe as your favorite.
Love your videos. Definitely the best watch channel here on youtube. Keep up the good work.
Best regards here from Denmark.
Thanks for the Victorinox shout out. My friends can't believe they make such beautiful watches and their tough as hell/C
Good video
I want to buy my husband an affordable Swiss watch. This video is very helpful !!! thank you
4:12 MY HAMMY! I just bought it :) Just felt in love with the dial.
I am definitely going to save up for a Hamilton khaki watch.
I'm half temped to get one myself.
I definitely will review it at some point.
Great choice Alex, thank you.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry , Thank you, and your welcome sir.
Have a Hamilton field automatic . I love it.
Heh, I feel quite proud to have one of my photos in your video :D (the Hamilton Khaki Mechanical on the black leather)
