The difference in the two white paints is something we might not see in a studio setting, yet becomes obvious when you use them plein aire. Very valuable lesson. Thanks, Michael.
Great info…closer up view on a smaller panel and vice-versa. (Love the blues & greens in the breaking waves of the larger panel.). Thank you for sharing.😊
Thank you for the insight as to how the size of the panel suggest the POV of the content important and I had never really thought about it. Thank you for sharing your experience with us 🙏
Been enjoying checking out your vids Mike, thank you! Lovely colours in this study and the freedom of strokes makes it a very nice piece. What a place to paint!
Hi Micheal You are right in your comment about the small and large panels. Yes, zoom in on the smaller pannal and zoom out on the larger pannal. I was also thinking about still life. I have seen still life on a small panal. Just one object, say an apple, looks good. As someone paints five apples, it just looks so cluttered and untidy busy, but paint the five apples on a large canvus and it can work. I agree with your comments that this one just did not work for you, but how fantastic, as it has shown you something that will help push you forward in your work. A really good, honest observation on your part that has uncovered a very interesting principle Thank you for sharing that God bless
Fantastic painting. May I ask Michael, are there any videos coming that are akin to your older vlog style? I have been binge watching them all lately and just love them!
painting #1 , the best part is in the greys, in the cliff face, foreground right. the entire red capped rock rock seems tied to the part I see, beautiful imagery in there 🙂
@@chamberlainpaintings painting #2 , - in the near shore waves , see imagery in there, ( two different moods, different emphasized areas, both are special 🙂

Thank you...I have been loving your beach paintings so much😊

I think the left painting shows movement in the water. I like the size of the left painting, and the colors and values. 😊
Your critiques are so helpful. Small panel = detailed image. That said, I like both very much.
I'm staying at Asilomar and painting with the Plein Air group. I look forward to painting your beautiful area!
Wow, that’s going to be fun!
@@chamberlainpaintings yes it will! Let's hope for some semi successful paintings!
This makes me miss painting, you did a wonderful job!
The atmosphere is amazing 😍😍
Thanks!
Thank you for the advice on subject choices.
I like to see your larger panels . I agree with you on the first try . Good one Michael!
I love the energy in the water. The horizon and rocks are devine ❤
Thanks Cedric!
@@chamberlainpaintings you're quite welcome 🍻
Like them both!
The second painting is fantastic. For me, the problem with first was that the water and rock forms took up equal space on the canvas.

Thanks Katie! I may do some vlogs again in the future. Glad you're enjoying them!
Hmmm....good point to show the difference in the bigger canvas! I like them both but bigger one is gooder!
Good morning Mike, good to see you!
Good morning!
The left one has definetly more atmosphere but I think the one to the right could still be safed...maybe more contrast on the rocks in the foreground?
Misty! Happy Sunday :)
Haven't seen you out surf-in this year? I liked your figure painting last week, sure would be cool with a surfer or two .
I’m still surfing 4-5 times a week. I haven’t filmed in a while though. Maybe I’ll include a clip now and then.

The story of the true mythical legend, ( larger painting ) , a left eye perceives knowing all, (smaller painting ), a glimpse beheld 💐.
SHARP ! - ( referring to your haircut - 0:04 - ) , See you this morning is a privilege, Good morning Michael .
Thanks Mark!
