- This is hopefully another helpful tool for pattern drafting the classic medieval fitted gown! I am making a new dress for myself and decided to totally revamp my pattern so I could get a better fit for my current body but also so I can show you!

Oh, perfect perfect perfect timing! I'm heading to a local SCA event this weekend. My "persona" is Norse, but I've been meaning to make a kirtle for ages and only just sourced the right wool laat week. Thank you!
That is awesome!! Having just moved to the PNW, I myself am entering my wool phase ;) I'd love to see what you make!
@@DaisyViktoria I put off making it until the next event - signed myself up for way too much to get in done before! I might have to make a Twitter or Instagram or something to send you a picture when I'm done.
I'm so glad to see that bust dart alteration. It makes sense to me now to just move the shoulder to tighten up the arm's eye! I hope you got settled in. I heard the cat!
Funny how it sounds like "arm's eye" but it's "armscye"... and yet it is kind of the arm's eye! 😂
Ive been wanting a kirtle so bad lately ive been dreaming about it lol so this is feeding the craving until i can get my hands on some wool!
Ahh ha! That armscye bust dart and how it changes the way the shoulder is patterned just explained a thing I needed!
Why were you watching a video on a garment you probably won't make Lynn?
Cuz you don't know what you don't understand until you have an answer.
Thanks!
❤❤❤ Thank you so much! I am trying to make a bodice, messed up the first piece of fabric, bought a pattern that doesn't fit, so now it is hanging there.. I will for sure try your way! If that works, the kirtle will be next! 🤗
Great explanation! A cotehardie/kirtle is on my to-do list!
I made my first one decades ago. My persona is 12th C but I love a good cotehardie.
Brilliant. Thank you ☺️
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful video, Daisy!
❤❤❤
Really excellent walkthrough! I am excited to try to make one now! thank you :)
