OMSI Science Pub public lecture series hosted IRIS-SSA Distinguished Lecturer Dr. Thorne Lay, University of California Santa Cruz. Dr. Lay discusses the relatively recent ability to better quantify and understand the mechanisms of Great megathrust earthquakes. Great earthquakes are those greater than magnitude 8.
He spoke at the Hollywood Theater in Portland, OR on July 13, 2015.
